Chapter 419: Chapter 418: Targeting Sampo, Looting Sampo (Part 1)
Seeing Pei Guang deep in thought, March 7th curiously asked, "Ah Guang! Did you figure out a way to skip the investigation?"
Pei Guang rested his chin on his hand, his eyes filled with wisdom as he seriously considered the matter.
"Of course I did. In fact, the moment we returned to this planet, I already had a target in mind. And after hearing all this, I can make a pretty good guess about who's behind it."
Pela immediately became excited. "Who is it?!"
Pei Guang glanced at a marked location on the minimap. "You might not know him, but he's an old acquaintance of ours. Back then, he even stole loot from our treasure chests. My guess? He's involved in this mess too. But I didn't expect him to come back… This is perfect."
Pei Guang's smile was dazzling. Based on his years of gaming experience, if a storyline involved a thief character, there was a very high chance that the first theft-related incident was connected to them.
If that was the case, then grabbing him first was the right move. Besides, Pei Guang knew that Belobog had a whole victims' association made up of people who had been scammed by a certain blue-haired conman.
The only problem was that after Pei Guang caught Sampo a few times before, he had vanished without a trace. But now? The minimap clearly showed his location in the Underworld.
Hearing his words, March 7th couldn't recall who he was talking about. "Who? I don't remember anyone like that around here."
Pei Guang: "Think about it—blue hair, weapon effects. He's the guy who gave us the most weapon effects."
March 7th: "Huh?"
She tried to think hard, but they had been through so much recently that she couldn't immediately recall.
But at that moment, Stelle suddenly clapped her hands. "Oh! I remember now! It's him! Wait, he's really back?!"
March 7th: "Wait, what? You guys are talking in riddles! Just tell me already, don't make me guess!"
Seeing March 7th getting impatient, Pei Guang chuckled and flicked her forehead lightly. "Look at the minimap."
March 7th blinked, then quickly turned her gaze toward the minimap. The moment she spotted that familiar marker labeled Sampo Koski, her eyes lit up.
"Let me think—ah, it's him! I can't believe he came back! We've got some great loot coming our way~ Hehe~ I wonder if I can finally get something useful from him this time?"
After all of Pei Guang's hints, March 7th finally remembered who Sampo was. She didn't recall the exact details of what happened back then, but she did remember that Sampo had stolen something from Seele's treasure chest…
Not that the specifics mattered—what mattered was that Sampo was a 'good' guy! Because whenever they beat him up, he always dropped great loot!
Pei Guang: "Now you remember! A guy with that many special skills? I'm guessing he's definitely involved in this museum theft. Even if he's not, he's got to have some clues. Let's go catch him and, while we're at it, see if we can loot something new from him."
Just thinking about Sampo made Pei Guang feel excited from head to toe. This blue-haired scammer had already provided Dan Heng with an entire set of weapon illusion effects. Who knew what kind of interesting items he might drop this time?
Stelle grinned and pulled out her bat. "Let's go, let's go! Even if it's not him, we can still squeeze some loot out of him."
Pei Guang: "Let's move out!"
With Pei Guang leading the charge, Pela was dragged along before she even fully processed what was happening.
Meanwhile, deep in the Underworld of Belobog, Sampo was carefully examining the 'antique collection' he had just acquired.
"Hey, hey, hey~ This time, I've got some very interesting things to see," Sampo murmured to himself, inspecting his latest collection of artifacts.
Sampo had only recently returned to Belobog. It wasn't Pei Guang who made him flee—sure, Pei Guang and his crew had constantly given him trouble, but Sampo actually enjoyed it.
The real reason he had skipped town was his fellow associates. He knew exactly what kind of things they were up to, and compared to them, Pei Guang was a saint. As long as he kept his head down, the worst Pei Guang would do was buy him a cup of coffee.
Then, while Sampo enjoyed his nice nap, Pei Guang and his crew would go around getting their hands on ridiculous special effects and gadgets—things that ended up surprising even more people than Sampo had anticipated.
Honestly? That was fun.
Just thinking about it, Sampo couldn't help but get excited. "Man, what a shame. If those Trailblazers were still in Belobog, I—Sampo Koski—would absolutely wrap myself up and personally deliver myself to them!"
He laughed at his own joke, but just as he was enjoying the thought—
A hand landed on his shoulder.
A very familiar cup of coffee appeared in front of him.
Sampo's smile froze.
Then, behind him, that unmistakable voice spoke:
"No need to tie yourself up. Just drink this."
"Hiss...!!!"
Like a rusty machine, Sampo turned his head ever so slowly.
And there he was—Pei Guang, smiling at him.
Sampo's frozen expression twitched into something that tried to be casual. "Ah! Trailblazers, what a surprise! What a coincidence!"
Pei Guang: "Hey there! I really didn't expect to run into you right when we got back to Belobog. But come on, good buddy—drink up. You know the deal. I just wanna check your pockets and see if you've got anything good~"
Sampo had always looked forward to Pei Guang looting him, but how to put it…? He also really wanted to get on Pei Guang's good side.
After all, back when he was hiding in the snow plains, he had planned to wait for the Trailblazers to arrive. Who could've expected that Pei Guang's horrendous singing would knock him out cold before he could even make contact?!
Then, through a series of coincidences and misfortunes, he never got to properly meet the Trailblazers.
But now that Pei Guang was right here? Sampo was absolutely not going to waste the opportunity.
