Chapter 390: Chapter 389: Time Skips Aren’t Just for Anime—Earth’s Evolution in Days!
Elysia carefully listened to and noted down Pei Guang's instructions. His tasks were simple—anyone with common sense could remember them. However, she still identified a few key points and necessary precautions.
Once he finished assigning the tasks, Elysia nodded and said, "Understood. Let me repeat it back to make sure I got everything right."
She repeated the tasks he had given her, adding her own understanding and outlining key concerns. Once he confirmed that she fully grasped the plan, she prepared to set off.
She enjoyed teasing Pei Guang during downtime, but when it was time for serious work, she knew her priorities.
Watching Elysia's departing figure, Pei Guang felt a deep sense of satisfaction; she was so reliable that he felt like hugging her and smothering her with kisses. But seriously, having an adjutant like her made his job ridiculously easy.
He might not need to be the master of Earth, but having someone like Elysia as his second-in-command was non-negotiable.
In a real-world setting, he couldn't just issue commands with a single click like in a game, but on the flip side, real-world mechanics allowed for more creative ways to bypass restrictions. Having someone as competent as Elysia meant he never had to worry about his orders getting misinterpreted or executed incorrectly.
While Elysia went back to coordinate manpower, the soldiers—despite Pei Guang's tasks sounding wildly unconventional—were already used to his unorthodox methods. After all, their previous battle had been absurd in every way, yet not only had they won, they had completely dismantled the Antimatter Legion's forces.
So, the moment they heard there was a new mission, the soldiers were eager to get started.
However, due to their extended combat earlier, their bodies were still recovering. Elysia, understanding this, first ordered them to rest and eat before beginning the next phase—testing to see who could open treasure chests.
The first person she approached was Vill-V. When Elysia handed her a chest and asked her to open it, Vill-V thought she had lost her mind.
But when she actually opened it and saw a Key of Knowledge glowing blue inside, it was Vill-V who felt like an idiot!
The strong start made Elysia feel invincible, but after testing a hundred more people, only one soldier—Fu Hua—managed to trigger a glow when opening a chest.
While Elysia was busy handling things on her end, Pei Guang had continued experimenting with the fishing mechanic. However, just as he was about to cast another line, he received a message from a Herta Puppet.
A text appeared on his phone: "Hey hey, can you hear me?"
Pei Guang replied, "No."
A moment later, the Herta Puppet initiated a voice call, and Pei Guang immediately answered the call.
But before he could even speak, the Herta Puppet on the other end spoke first, "Good news! We finally have enough resources to activate time acceleration over a large area. The current plan is a 1:365 acceleration ratio—one day on Earth equals one year inside the accelerated zone. If you account for time flow differences across the solar system and other star systems, even if you just spend a few days elsewhere, Earth's technological progress will have made a massive leap forward."
The Herta Puppet's tone was filled with excitement. This was a huge breakthrough—using Earth's existing resources, they had successfully gathered the necessary energy for this project. At the same time, she couldn't help but marvel at the absurdity of the situation: what would normally be considered an apocalyptic-level catastrophe for most worlds was, in Pei Guang's hands, nothing more than an endless supply of resources.
If Pei Guang had the power of Abundance, he would practically be a walking Abomination of Abundance. But since he didn't, and given that the Antimatter Legion weren't even considered people, no one in their right mind would feel any sympathy for them.
Pei Guang clicked his tongue, "Damn, that's fast. So does this mean that if I head to Xianzhou for a few days, we'll have a Star Destroyer warship ready by the time I get back?"
The Herta Puppet immediately shut that idea down. "No. Earth doesn't have enough resources to build an Imperial-class ship, but we can manage a large-scale battleship. So, pick a development focus! We don't have unlimited time or resources—you only get to choose one!"
Pei Guang raised an eyebrow. "Just one? Seriously?"
The Herta Puppet sighed, "You know what your own tech tree looks like better than anyone. Just pick one direction to develop in, so that when my people enter the accelerated time zone, they don't waste time wandering aimlessly. If they mess up, it won't just be a minor setback."
Pei Guang nodded, "Yeah, yeah, I got it. Just go ahead with the time acceleration—I've had a backup plan ready for ages. If things go south, we'll just bail. As for development priority, let's focus on nanomachines first. Get started on building a Grey Tempest-class warship."
The Herta Puppet's tone changed slightly. "Wait… Grey Tempest-class? You…"
Glancing at the tech tree, the Herta Puppet noticed that nanite development would eventually lead to the creation of a fully nanite-based starship. While this type of interstellar battleship wasn't the most powerful in sheer firepower, it was definitely one of the most unique.
What's more, the AI configuration settings required that the ship's onboard intelligence be female!
Considering Pei Guang's… particular tastes, the Herta Puppet was convinced this was yet another of his fetishes showing.
But whatever, it didn't matter. If that's what Pei Guang wanted, then that's what they'd build. Right now, the only issue was Earth's lack of resources and time—otherwise, they could develop everything all at once.
Once the Legion threat was dealt with, full-scale technological advancement would be completely feasible.
What piqued the Herta Puppet's curiosity the most, however, were the four ultimate options at the very end of Pei Guang's tech tree. Even with the highest level of access that Pei Guang had granted, she still couldn't see what they were. But something in her gut told her those final choices were anything but ordinary.
That would have to be dealt with later, though. Right now, the priority was activating time acceleration and pushing human technological progress as fast as possible.
