The Gamer who traveled to Honkai: Star Rail

Chapter 361: Chapter 360: Who Needs Memories When You Have Weekly Raids?

The messenger from the Garden of Recollection was completely stunned. Originally, she had planned to stay aboard the Astral Express after Stelle woke up, following her to collect fragments of memories.

However, Pei Guang's sudden appearance had indefinitely extended that plan. Compared to other factions, the followers of the Aeon of Remembrance knew far more about the grander workings of the universe. But sometimes, knowing too much wasn't exactly a good thing—especially when it came to an anomaly like Pei Guang.

No one could figure out why someone like him even existed in this world, let alone why he attracted the attention of so many Aeons!

In theory, Aeons were bound by the paths they embodied and couldn't act beyond those constraints. Yet, observing Pei Guang seemed to perfectly align with their nature. From what this messenger knew, even Fuli—the very Aeon she worshipped—had been watching Pei Guang closely.

And based on his actions and the Aeons' growing interest, the Garden of Recollection had instructed their messenger to avoid direct contact with him, even if their intentions were well-meaning.

At first, she thought she could just shadow Pei Guang discreetly without being noticed. But now, she'd been ordered to board the Astral Express itself.

The only silver lining was that she'd analyzed Pei Guang's behavior throughout his journey and figured out how to communicate with him. The downside? She might have accidentally scared Pom-Pom.

Considering how much Pei Guang doted on Pom-Pom, the moment he showed up, she'd probably get sliced with that wooden sword of his.

But it wasn't a big deal—she was confident she could shout out her lines before Pei Guang could swing.

As for where the person she feared was right now?

Pei Guang had just arrived at the entrance to the Echo of War, a newly unlocked feature.

When March 7th explained the existence of these special Echo spaces, Pei Guang immediately noticed that new icons had appeared on three maps: the Herta Space Station, the Everwinter Hill of Jarilo-VI, and the Scalegorge Waterscape.

After reading the description of the Echo of War, it was exactly as March had said—these spaces allowed him to challenge powerful enemies he had defeated before. The downside was the restriction: each boss could only be challenged once every seven in-game days.

Still, having an additional teleportation point in these areas was a huge convenience. Even with the limitations, it beat having to carefully manage his daily teleport charges.

As for party size? Each battle had a maximum participant limit. Taking Phantylia's Echo as an example, Pei Guang saw that the minimum required was one person, and the maximum was ten. But something felt off.

He distinctly remembered that when they fought Phantylia, there were only nine of them, including Jing Yuan. So… did the Lighting Lord count as a person? That couldn't be it. Even from the Doomsday Beast to Cocolia and then to Phantylia, there was always an extra slot.

"Maybe it's just an extra spot to allow more people to join in the future?" Pei Guang decided to stop overthinking it. As a player, it didn't matter how the game mechanics worked. His job was just to play.

Beyond that, the introduction of the Echo of War unlocked several new features for him.

Pei Guang could now teleport directly near any Echo of War entrance, with no usage limits—available anytime. However, compared to his current free teleportation ability, this method had some drawbacks: it couldn't be used while in combat or under external interference. Each teleport required a five-second channel time out of combat, and he could bring up to three people with him per trip. But it wasn't just limited to him—every Trailblazer could use it, each able to bring three companions.

While it wasn't as flexible as his twice-daily unlimited teleports, it was still incredibly useful, allowing Pei Guang to zip around the world more efficiently.

The only regret? Earth currently didn't have any Echo of War spaces. If it did, he could literally sprint through every street whenever he felt like it.

But it didn't matter. Based on his calculations, it was only a matter of time before Earth got its own dedicated teleport points.

The Echo of War allowed challenges against three (theoretically) formidable foes: the Doomsday Beast, Cocolia, and Phantylia. According to the system's description, defeating these bosses had a chance to yield rare treasures. However, Pei Guang remained skeptical about whether any golden loot would actually drop.

Each of these instances refreshed once every seven system days. You could challenge each boss once per cycle, but as long as you didn't defeat the boss, your attempt wouldn't count against the limit.

In other words—it was basically the weekly raid.

Unlocking this feature made Pei Guang want to drag the game developers out and kick their asses.

Seriously?!

It's like they stitched together a fully open-world experience, but if you didn't stumble upon certain features, there were no hints, no unlock prompts—nothing to guide the player.

If it hadn't been for that random thought about wanting to rematch past bosses—and March 7th's timely reminder—Pei Guang felt like he'd never have discovered this hidden weekly raid system in his life.

As for the game devs? They'd probably claim innocence: Hey, don't blame us! You were too busy having fun fighting everything in sight to properly explore the world. That's all on you.

Regardless, with March 7th's help, Pei Guang wasted no time dragging Sushang to the Echo of War entrance. Standing before it, he noticed the portal's design bore an uncanny resemblance to the Six-Phased Ice, sparking his curiosity.

"March, take a look at this. This is the Echo of War entrance, right? Is it because you're the one who reminded me of it that the portal looks like Six-Phased Ice? Or… does your memory have some connection to this stuff?"

March 7thleaned in for a closer look. As she approached, the Echo of War portal activated, surrounded by shimmering pink crystalline ice. Her eyes widened in surprise.

"No way… I just mentioned something I knew, and this happened?"

Pei Guang: "Haven't you been to an Echo space before? Was the entrance like this back then?"

March 7th shook her head. "Nope, not at all. But who cares? The universe is full of weird stuff. Maybe you're the reason this happened, Ah Guang. And about the Six-Phased Ice—if I can't control it, it's not my Six-Phased Ice. Eh-heh~"

Pei Guang shrugged. "Not a big deal. Let's head in, take a look, and record Sushang's epic battle with a tough enemy for our promo video. Who knows, maybe this weird portal design has something to do with your lost memories."

March 7th paused, her gaze lingering on the pink ice crystals beside the entrance. A complicated expression flickered across her face.

Pei Guang nudged her. "Hey, don't overthink it. Trust me—you'll definitely get your memories back. Look, in Belobog, Stelle and I gained new powers. On the Xianzhou? Dan Heng reclaimed his past and awakened hidden abilities. So, between these two maps—no, three—you're bound to recover your memories.

"And if all else fails, we can always ask Fu Xuan to help you dig into your past."

He remembered back when they were at the Divination Commission, both he and March had wanted a fortune reading to find clues about their origins. But after Fu Xuan gave Pei Guang a reading, she was so shocked that March's turn got delayed. One thing led to another, and between the chaos and all the fun they were having, they simply forgot about it.

Hearing Pei Guang mention recovering her past, March 7th's face lit up with hope, though a hint of worry crept in as well. "But… what if I regain my memories and I'm… different?"

Pei Guang grinned. "That'd be awesome!"

March 7th blinked, confused. "…Huh?"
