Chapter 358: Chapter 357: A Xianzhou Specialty, Crafted by a Player
Pei Guang stared at the head. The head stared back.
At that moment, though the Aurumaton head lacked eyes, the two still locked gazes—seeing into each other's souls.
It was a moment of silent understanding.
Pei Guang thought: This thing would make an incredible decoration.
The Aurumaton head thought: How did Aurum Alley get a statue of a Buddha this big?
Not long after, Lianyan returned.
"The President trusts Mingxi's judgment. However, he has prepared a test. You must integrate Oldies Depot into the logistics network."
She then turned to Pei Guang. "As for your food stall, the President has granted special permission—as long as it doesn't disrupt other businesses, you may set up a stall anywhere in Aurum Alley."
This wasn't just a test. It was a statement.
By presenting it as a challenge, the Merchant Guild president was making his support of Pei Guang and Mingxi's group official.
As the leader of Aurum Alley, the Aurumaton President possessed extraordinary abilities. Pei Guang's info wasn't exactly secret, and the Trailblazers were already well-documented.
Bringing them in to revitalize Aurum Alley was the best possible move.
And, most importantly…
Pei Guang was worth it.
Based on all available online data, this Trailblazer had an insane hacker named Silver Wolf on his side, and he himself was a terrifying hacker.
During that brief stare-down, the Aurumaton head was certain that Pei Guang had already seen through its identity.
If it had dared to refuse, there was a very real possibility that by the end of the day, it would no longer be a Aurumaton head—it would be no one's head.
While Pei Guang and the Aurumaton head each had their own thoughts, Stelle's reaction was much simpler.
The moment she heard "integrate into logistics," her eyes lit up like stars.
"Logistics? Connection lines?" Stelle grinned.
"Leave it to me! I love connecting lines!"
While Stelle was happily linking logistics routes, Pei Guang was busy with another task. Though his method of cooking was extremely efficient, he still felt that handling everything alone was a bit too much.
So, as Stelle enjoyed her puzzle-solving, he found a good location and rummaged through his storage space, pulling out various materials he had collected along the way. With these, he began assembling his own street food stall.
At first, the stall looked fairly normal—just like any other street vendor setup commonly seen on the Xianzhou. However, the materials he used were anything but ordinary. There were bones from Abundance Aberrants, roots from the Ambrosial Arbor, and even some rare metals and stone materials Pei Guang himself had never seen before.
The first thing he considered was the base structure. Since the stall was being set up in Xianzhou, it had to embody local characteristics.
Back in his old gaming days, due to the limited customization options, he always fantasized about designing unique and creative stalls. But now, with no restrictions and full creative freedom—plus the ability to use any materials he wanted—Pei Guang could finally unleash his imagination.
For the stall's frame, he used bones from Abundance Aberrants, which were incredibly sturdy. To make the stall more presentable (and to avoid scaring off potential customers), he covered the exterior with soft leather from the Abundant Ebon Deer, giving the structure a sleek and refined appearance.
Yet, something still felt missing.
Then it hit him—he needed tableware!
No problem. He fashioned bowls from the skulls of the wolves taken down by the Alchemy Commission and crafted chopsticks from the Ambrosial Arbor roots.
Now that he had the essentials, another issue arose. A proper street stall needed decorations. And what better decorations could represent Xianzhou than Abundance Aberrants?
That's right! In Pei Guang's mind, the true specialty of Xianzhou was none other than Abundance Aberrants.
So, he went all out.
Hanging on the left side of the stall was a headpiece made from the materials of the fallen Lord Ravager Phantylia. On the right, a genuine Abundant Ebon Deer skull.
In the center, he mounted a sword, a bow, and a bat—crafted from bones—to add a striking aesthetic.
And to truly cement the stall's identity as an Aurum Alley specialty, he encircled the base of the stall with Aurumaton heads. Nothing screamed "Aurum Alley" more than that!
All the while, the President of the Merchant Guild—an actual Aurumaton head—watched Pei Guang work.
When Pei Guang took out the Aurumaton heads and arranged them around his stall, the President fell silent.
Because…it was also just a head!
But the President was unbothered. After all, based on its calculations, Pei Guang was a person who followed the rules and had a strong sense of fairness. As long as everything was done properly, even if he really wanted its head, there wouldn't be much it could do about it.
Meanwhile, even March 7th—who had long gotten used to Pei Guang's antics—was left speechless.
"Ah Guang… What exactly is this thing you've built?"
"A food stall, obviously," Pei Guang replied matter-of-factly. "Just look at how standard it is."
March 7th frowned. "I mean… it does look like a stall, but the design…"
"You don't get it," Pei Guang said proudly. "It's got authentic Luofu characteristics! Since we're setting up shop here, it has to match the local style. What's the most common thing we've seen in Luofu? That's right—Abundance Aberrants! That's why I used their materials. Just look at this—Abundant Ebon Deer bones and leather! And over here—Ambrosial Arbor roots and fruit! And check this out—materials from a Lord Ravager itself!
"Now, look at the base! The Aurumaton heads symbolize that this is in Aurum Alley. It perfectly aligns with the theme!"
March 7th carefully examined the stall from different angles. "You know... in some ways, you're actually not wrong!"
She honestly didn't know what to say. So, she turned to the others who weren't busy. "What do you all think?"
The first to respond was Sushang, who gave an enthusiastic thumbs-up. "It's got such a strong presence! And wait… are these all your battle trophies, Ah Guang? Are these… Abundance Aberrant materials?"
Seeing someone who actually recognized their value, Pei Guang crossed his arms proudly. "Of course! This here is the hide and bones of an Abundant Ebon Deer that was guarding the Ambrosial Arbor. That fight was intense, let me tell you! By the way, do you like it? If you do, I can give you one as a reward for helping out. All you gotta do is bounce around a bit and help promote both Aurum Alley and my food stall. What do you think?"
Sushang's eyes lit up in excitement. "Really? But I'm not very good at singing or dancing…"
Pei Guang waved dismissively. "No worries! Just jump around as you normally do. Show off some of that strength. And if that's not enough, I can take you out to hunt some Abundance Aberrants. You chop them down, I cook something delicious for you, and in between, you just throw in a few lines about Aurum Alley. Easy, right?"
Sushang hesitated. "That works?"
"Of course! Who says dancing has to be delicate? A performance filled with strength is just as captivating!"
"Strength…?" Sushang muttered.
"Yeah! Wide, sweeping movements, using your raw power. Even if you've never formally learned to dance, you can still display a unique kind of beauty."
Sushang hesitated again. "Are you sure about this?"
Pei Guang gave her a confident nod. "Absolutely. Trust me, I've got plenty of experience. You, as a wandering martial artist, shouldn't be doing those delicate little steps. You need something bold! For promoting and revitalizing Aurum Alley, or even becoming its official spokesperson, you're the perfect fit!"
Watching the conversation unfold, March 7th's expression slowly became more serious. Why did it feel like this pure and innocent girl was about to be led astray by Pei Guang? But then again… she and Stelle had already been led astray a long time ago.
Oh well…
At least this time, what Pei Guang was teaching actually looked normal. Yes. Totally normal. Nothing crazy. Just a regular dance—completely different from the ones that made people want to join in and lose their minds.
Still, seeing how smoothly he was guiding Sushang, March 7th grew curious. "Ah Guang, since when were you so knowledgeable about serious dancing?"
Pei Guang frowned. "What are you talking about? Are you saying my previous dances weren't serious?"
March 7th thought back to the time they performed a mafia-style shuffle on a railing. Then she recalled how Pei Guang had taught the Xianzhou residents the axe gang dance, and even got them to do a synchronized routine to New Treasure Island.
Nope. None of that was serious.
Pei Guang insisted, "All my dances are totally serious!"
The reason he knew so many dances, both absurd and proper, was simple. Back in his old life, he had learned them for various reasons. Some were for fun, some were for sneaking into events for free, and some… were for personal entertainment, like animating 3D models in games.
There was just something amusing about having a character strip piece by piece while dancing—far more interesting than simply removing everything at once. Many players had their own unique brand of rebellious creativity.
Of course, for Sushang, who would promote the stand publicly, Pei Guang was only teaching her proper dance moves. Nothing weird.
Nothing that involved losing clothes mid-performance.
