The Gamer who traveled to Honkai: Star Rail

Chapter 352: Chapter 351: The Efficiency of a Player (Part 2)

Watching all this unfold, Sushang rubbed her eyes. "But… isn't this kind of unsafe?"

One of the more experienced workers reassured her, "Don't worry, miss. Checking safety is our job. I just inspected the way the cargo is stacked—while it looks tight, there's no risk during normal transport. Unless there's a major accident, nothing's going to fall off. And if an accident does happen, well… even with half the cargo, you wouldn't be able to save anything anyway."

Hearing this, Sushang sighed in relief. "That's good. As long as it's safe."

Returning from loading the starskiff, Pei Guang overheard the conversation. Patting his chest confidently, he grinned. "You just have to trust in a player's professional skills. If something doesn't fit, it won't go in. If it does fit, then it's perfectly safe.

That's just common sense for us players!"

The moment Pei Guang said that, March 7th clapped her hands excitedly.

"It's here! It's here! Ah Guang's mysterious common sense! Everyone! Since Ah Guang says this is common sense, let's just follow his method for loading cargo. If anyone doesn't understand something, just ask him—it'll definitely work!"

Stelle nodded. "You guys don't get it. At first, I also questioned Ah Guang, but now I believe in him! My dear Ah Guang, give us more common sense!"

Pei Guang waved them off. "Get lost! How much common sense do you expect me to have? Besides, my memory isn't that great. I can't just recall things on demand—I only remember them when I come across the right situation."

Bailu gasped dramatically. "Could it be… because you have no brain? Gasp! No brain is a serious problem! Come, let this lady here properly treat your head today!"

Meanwhile, one of the more disgruntled workers, hearing everyone praise Pei Guang, muttered under his breath. "Sure, he's got some skills, but if you ask me, just improving cargo efficiency isn't enough. If Heron Express won't handle deliveries, we're still stuck waiting around."

The worker wasn't targeting Pei Guang specifically—his job was simply to load cargo onto starskiffs. The reason they hadn't used Pei Guang's method before wasn't due to laziness, but historical reasons: this port had been operating the same way for so long that inefficient cargo stacking had become a habit—even an unspoken rule. No one had ever thought to change it.

Besides, he was also passing the buck. As a seasoned worker, he knew better than to take on extra tasks unnecessarily. If there was an excuse to shift the responsibility elsewhere, why not?

Pei Guang raised an eyebrow. "Oh? So aside from loading cargo, we also have to handle logistics? But wait, what the hell is Heron Express?"

Though Pei Guang had traveled all over Xianzhou, he hadn't directly encountered Heron Express yet. But no worries—someone in the party had.

Stelle patted her chest confidently. "I know this one! Heron Express is a delivery service that uses mechanical cranes to transport goods. From what I've seen, their efficiency in Xianzhou is incredibly high. For short-distance transport, they're lightning-fast!"

Pei Guang smirked. "And let me guess—while you were out exploring alone, you stumbled upon lost deliveries, repaired malfunctioning cycranes, and helped them complete their deliveries?"

Stelle grinned. "Not bad, Ah Guang. You got it in one."

March 7th pumped her fist. "Then what are we waiting for? Let's go! Uh… but wait, which way do we go?"

She had just gotten excited about setting off, only to realize she had no idea where to go.

Mingxi stepped forward. "Heron Express's Aurum Alley branch isn't far from here. Let me lead the way!"

For the first time, Mingxi genuinely felt that Aurum Alley had hope again.

However, before she could finish celebrating the thought, Pei Guang interrupted her train of thought.

"No rush! I see a batch of cargo just sitting here. Let me finish loading all of this first. If I don't get these sorted, it's gonna bother me!"

The notorious player's compulsion had kicked in. Seeing cargo left unoptimized made Pei Guang feel itchy all over. He had to load it properly before moving on.

Mingxi hesitated. "I suppose that's fine… Even though these are just basic goods, the workers could use the practice to improve their efficiency. But I can't let you work for free. How about this? For all the cargo you organize, the profit from these shipments will go directly to you. How does that sound?"

She felt a bit nervous about this offer. From her perspective, this reward was too low. The efficiency boost Pei Guang provided was so significant that any merchant guild would have offered him a hefty payout. But right now, they were still in debt to the company, and she literally had no money to give him. This was the best she could offer.

Pei Guang's eyes lit up. "Oh? A deal this good? Tsk. Never thought I'd see an NPC this generous. The quest rewards in Xianzhou are actually decent! "

That day, for the first time, the dockworkers witnessed the terrifying efficiency of a player.

In less than half an hour, every single piece of cargo had been loaded onto the starskiffs.

While none of the cargo was particularly large, based on their past experience, the amount of freight that Pei Guang had just loaded should have required three times as many starskiffs!

What would normally take a hired dockworker several hours to complete, he had done alone in thirty minutes. If he were actually employed at the port, all of them would probably be out of a job.

Because purely in terms of efficiency, even if all the workers teamed up, they still couldn't compete with one Pei Guang.

Thankfully, he only found this kind of work interesting when he first encountered it. If this turned into a daily task—something he had to do every single day for thirty minutes—he wouldn't bother.

He was playing a game, not signing up for a part-time job. Doing this during an event was fine, but long-term? He'd rather be out exploring the universe and unlocking new maps.

Under the gaze of the astonished crowd, Pei Guang moved as if he were playing a game. A tap here, a point there—boom—another starskiff was fully loaded. It was all so effortless, his movements smooth and precise, like someone who had done this a thousand times before.

When he finally finished and returned, Mingxi's eyes were filled with utter disbelief.

She wasn't exaggerating—across the entire universe, even though the Aeons possessed unimaginable power and their Emanators could shatter planets or even destroy entire star systems…

There was absolutely no one who could pack a fleet of starskiffs this quickly, this efficiently, and make it look so damn easy.

Seeing Mingxi's wide-eyed disbelief, Pei Guang waved his hand in front of her face.

"Hey~ Stop staring. My task here is done. Don't forget about the reward you promised."

Mingxi finally snapped out of it and nodded. "You'll get everything you're owed!"

Pei Guang clapped his hands. "Alright, next stop! Now I'm really looking forward to what's coming up. What's the next thing we get to play with?"

At this, Stelle protested. "Play? You're the only one having fun! We haven't gotten to do anything yet."

Pei Guang smirked. "Oh? You're right! Can't let you all miss out on the fun. How about this—next mission, you guys take charge. If anyone doesn't have anything to do, I'll take them to go find something even more fun."

Hearing that, and especially the part about Pei Guang personally leading something fun, March 7th immediately jumped in.

"If Ah Guang says there's fun to be had, then I'm in! Stelle, you can handle the next task. Eh heh~ I'm off to go have fun with Ah Guang!"

Stelle's eyes widened. "March! That's cheating!"

March 7th stuck out her tongue. "It's not cheating~ You were just too slow!"

Stelle spun around, ready to drag Bailu into this, only to find that the little dragon girl had already latched onto Pei Guang, grinning mischievously.

"Hehe~ Sticking with Ah Guang is definitely the most fun! I'll leave this mission to you, Stelle. I believe in you—you can do it!"

At that moment, Stelle felt pain. So much pain.

Her precious Ah Guang, stolen away by these two traitors. And she knew that whatever Pei Guang was about to do was definitely more fun than some boring task.

And she was right.

When they reached the next objective, Stelle found herself stuck with mapping out a logistics route for Heron Express. The task itself? Simple. Just like a puzzle game—connect the routes with minimal resources to maximize efficiency.

Normally, Stelle might've enjoyed a challenge like this.

But not today.

Today, all she felt was suffering.

Especially as she watched the little in-game map, where Pei Guang, March 7th, and Bailu had just teleported… right near that corporation rep from earlier.

She knew she was missing out on something hilarious…

Just as Stelle was drowning in despair, her phone buzzed.

She glanced at the message… and her suffering deepened!

March 7th: "Don't be sad! If there's a good show, I'll record it for you~~"
