Chapter 136
136. The Day Before The Uprising
Raize and Laura returned that evening. After explaining the current situation of the strategy team, they apparently asked for two days to make a decision.
Even so, Laura, the strongest member of the team, directly accusing Gerda of misconduct seemed to have a significant effect. Two days later, Gerda’s dismissal was officially decided.
I am now inside the Adventurers’ Guild. Everyone gathered here, except Raize sitting next to me, is a member of the strategy team.
Standing before them is Laura. When the scheduled time arrived, she cleared her throat and began to speak.
“…Now, let’s commence the strategy team meeting!”
Once Gerda was dismissed and Laura became the leader, the members’ attention immediately focused on her as she began to speak. Her popularity was evident.
“We, the strategy team, will enter the Ash Dungeon tomorrow at noon! The goal is to conquer the 50th floor!”
As soon as Laura declared this, the members began to stir. It’s no wonder; after progressing one floor at a time with great effort, she suddenly announced the intention to conquer the 50th floor.
However, her goal was reasonable. We had previously been stuck on the 42nd floor because Gerda had been delaying us, but the three of us alone had already reached the 43rd floor.
“We have fought through countless deadly battles, all to see how far the dungeon goes and to find out what’s at the end! Now is the time to push forward to that end!”
For a moment, the members showed hesitation, but by the time Laura finished speaking, they had regained their composure.
In fact, their eyes now gleamed with determination, a resolve to achieve the goal at all costs.
“OOOOOOOOOOOH!!”
The members raised their fists high, and the meeting ended. While I was still overwhelmed by their energy, Laura approached.
“Arx, thank you for coming today. This is my first time as a leader, so… how did I do?”
“You were amazing. It seemed like everyone was inspired by your words.”
“Thank you. By the way, Arks and Raize, I’d like you both to join tomorrow’s dungeon mission. Is that okay?”
Of course, we nodded. Seeing this, Laura thanked us once again.
“We’ll need to coordinate with the team to some extent on the day. I’ve already informed them of your skills, so communication should go smoothly. It would be helpful if you could chat with them before tomorrow to ensure better coordination.”
Laura said, “Well then…” and brought over someone who had been sitting in one of the chairs.
“Let me introduce you. This is Rurika, a shinobi from the eastern country.”
The person Laura introduced was a woman with black hair. She seemed to be a little older than me.
Her attire, a black turtleneck, contrasted with her pale skin, reinforcing her identity as a shinobi.
“H-hello… I’m Rurika. I’m supposed to be an S-rank adventurer, but I’m still not quite there…”
Of all the adventurers I’ve seen, she was the most timid. Is she really an S-rank…?
“Is it true that you’re a shinobi?”
“Y-yes… I’m a shinobi from the eastern country of ‘Azuma’… If you call me, I’ll guide you… so…”
Rurika bowed deeply, her voice almost disappearing. Shinobi are supposed to be able to kill silently like a ninja, right? If so, appearances can be deceiving.
“I have other things to attend to, so I’ll leave the rest to you. Rurika, introduce the other members, please.”
“Y-yes… understood…”
With that, Laura left, and Rurika began introducing the members of the team.
Considering the crazy S-rank adventurers I’d dealt with until now, I was wondering how this would go… but surprisingly, everyone turned out to be decent people.
After chatting for about two hours, we dispersed and took a break to prepare for tomorrow’s dungeon mission.

The next morning, we left Orutia and headed to the Ash Dungeon.

“Are you all ready?”
Laura asked the group, and they all nodded in unison, following her lead.
The moment had finally arrived. We were fully prepared to undertake the dungeon mission.
“Let’s go!”
With Laura’s shout, our mission to conquer the Ash Dungeon began――!
