The fall of the Halberd Hero

I was suspicious of the old hag at first, when she asked me to challenge Yukiko to a duel.

The prospect of having to interact with the other heroes annoyed me at first, yet the pay was large enough to convince me. Previously, I always distanced myself from the other heroes because they reminded me of the horrible world I once called home.

Her being the same age as me was especially daunting… It reminded me of a school setting, so I couldn't help but despise Yukiko even more than I already would.

Inside of the rumbling carriage, a young girl shouts out to Kuroda, "That's her, isn't it? The one you've been looking for, master."

She looks back and turns melancholic, her smile slowly turning into a pitying look. "Don't worry. You don't have to do this if you don't want to."

'HAH, It seems I raised my companions right! Looking down on her plump body, I can't help but feel better already', he thought, snuffing smoke from his nose.

Suddenly regaining his serious expression, he stepped out of the carriage, leaving a single comment to his young companion, "Don't you worry, girly. Your master will make it back safe, you don't need to waste your energy on big old me…"

'Ok, now I need to lock back in. I can't let the other heroes see this sight of me. I have to play the big brother role for Yukiko, or else she won't learn!'

"Hey, Dumbass! What do you think you're doing, huh?", I said, successfully convincing Yukiko of my rowdy superiority.

Though when I actually thought about it deeply, it did bug me on a much deeper level.

She got isekaid just to laze around and hunt the same boring way since coming here. She didn't even progress after almost and entire week passed!

'Just as expected, these guys are helpless. Have they ever even touched an rpg?!'

Unconsciously, it made me frown, while the flustered girl in front of me remained stunned, looking at me as if I was invisible.

"You look utterly pathetic, wasting the destiny of a hero! You got this unique chance to make something of your life, but then why have I, in the past few days, never seen you do anything other than hunting the same old useless and worthless monsters!"

'Well, it was that old hag who told me, but she doesn't have to know.'

"Seriously, have you given up?"

And can you guess what followed? This braindead brat of a woman kept up her empty stare without even answering, looking everywhere except me, as if gazing up at the clouds.

'Has she actually become retarded?'

"If that is all you have to say, then you're wasting your time.", she said, still not sparing me a single gaze.

I clenched my teeth and violently jumped down from my high ground. Now it is time to teach her a lesson, just as I'd been tasked.

"I can't just accept that, you have to understand. In fact, I request a duel between us. Right now."

Shocking me with her answer, the crumpled up girl actually agrees to the duel.

'This is by all means not consistent with what I've been told… I thought she was just a pussy who was too scared to do anything?'

'Oh well, now I get to have some fun.', I thought, showing a wretched smile.

So what followed was a series of duels, which were obviously all won by yours truly.

Now, seeing the previously proud young girl crouching on the ground, I almost felt bad… almost.

Phew! If only this wasn't so fun!

"I will come back in two days, then we will spar again. Be prepared."

These are the words that naturally flowed out of my mouth in anticipation. But… doesn't that mean I have to meet with this lousy bitch again?

Ah whatever, it's not like I have to hold up the promise, so I just left, expecting to not see her again so soon.

However, on the way back, it was as if fate itself came down just to fuck me in the ass. What that means, is that I coincidentally met one of the other heroes.

My cuck butler spoke up for once in his lousy career, "That is Sakamoto, the crossbow hero. I'd stay away from her if I were you."

"Hey! Don't you dare speak to me in that tone. And I do what I want, not what you say."

Actually defying my order, he continues as if I didn't just tell him not to, "She has been going around sleeping with whoever she wants to. The people call her the town whore. Her reputation alone should scare you away, rather than my advice."

'T-T-Town whore you say? Hold on, let me get a piece of that. Maybe this is finally my chance to become a man!', so I stop the carriage to greet her, which I actually wouldn't have done, hadn't the butler told me that fact.

"Sakamoto, huh? Didn't think I'd see you here."

She was a beauty, with a slim figure and long lush hair, not like Yukiko, who cut hers short. It seemed that she'd dyed the tips of her hair green, matching the green emerald-like gem on her weapon perfectly.

Damn, her older sister charm really encapsulated me, what can I say.

"Kuroda, why did you stop? I have no interest in speaking to someone like you.", she said coldly, yet the pain of her words thrilled me further.

"Tell me, is what I've been told about you really true? I'd like to taste it for myself.", I said, expecting anything other than what she actually responded with.

"I don't know, are the rumors about you buying slaves true? About you beating up Takamura (Yukikos last name)?"

Shocked, I'm faced with no other choice but to take a step back, my senses telling me to run!

"H-Hey! Those rumors are exaggerated! And didn't you watch the show? They also bought slaves, so what's the problem?", I said, my eyes twitching in disbelief.

"I don't care. Stay out of my way, I don't ever want to see someone from earth again anyways. You're only after my perfect new life here.", she said with a disgusted look. Heh.

She would never have said something so direct if she were around her companions. It seems this girl is deeper in the trenches than even me! I'm impressed if anything.

"Alright, scram already. This conversation has been long rendered pointless.", I say, trying to regain superiority over the conversation.

Well, she just went and left so I don't know how to feel about that.

Hmm…
