The Era of New Beginning

Chapter 4: Chapter 4: The Intruders

While discussing the clues, a helicopter landed nearby, and six men barged into Samarth's home, demanding the manuscript. Fortunately, Samarth did not made a copy of the clue, which he kept hidden.

Samarth and Priya sat in the dimly lit room, their minds racing as they pieced together the ancient clues. The manuscript lay open on the table, its delicate pages revealing secrets long forgotten. They knew they were close to uncovering the hidden location of the mythical' weapons, but the danger that lurked around them was palpable.

Suddenly, the sound of a helicopter's rotors slicing through the air shattered the silence. Samarth and Priya exchanged worried glances. "Who could that be?" Priya whispered, her voice tinged with fear. Samarth's heart pounded as he moved to the window, peering through the curtains. The helicopter landed in the clearing nearby, and six men dressed in black tactical gear emerged, moving with military precision.

"They're here for the manuscript," Samarth said, his voice grim. "We need to hide it, now." He quickly grabbed the manuscript and handed it to Priya. "Take this and hide it in the secret compartment in the study. I'll stall them."

Priya nodded, her hands trembling as she took the manuscript and hurried to the study. Samarth took a deep breath, steeling himself for what was to come. The front door burst open, and the six men stormed in, their faces obscured by masks. The leader, a tall man with piercing eyes, stepped forward, his voice cold and commanding. "Where is the manuscript?" he demanded.

Samarth stood his ground, his mind racing for a plan. "I don't know what you're talking about," he said, trying to sound convincing. The leader's eyes narrowed, and he signaled to his men. They began to search the house, overturning furniture and rifling through drawers.

In the study, Priya carefully placed the manuscript in the hidden compartment behind a bookshelf. She closed the compartment and rearranged the books, hoping it would go unnoticed. As she turned to leave, she heard footsteps approaching. She quickly hid behind the curtains, her heart pounding in her chest.

One of the intruders entered the study, his eyes scanning the room. He moved methodically, checking every nook and cranny. Priya held her breath, praying he wouldn't find the hidden compartment. After what felt like an eternity, the intruder left the room, and Priya let out a sigh of relief.

Back in the living room, the leader grew impatient. "We know you have the manuscript," he said, his voice menacing. "If you don't hand it over, things will get very unpleasant for you." Samarth's mind raced. He needed to buy more time for Priya to hide the manuscript. "Alright, alright," he said, raising his hands in surrender. "I'll show you where it is."

He led the men to a different room, hoping to mislead them. As they searched the room, Samarth's thoughts turned to the copy of the clue he had made earlier. It was hidden in a small, inconspicuous box in the attic. If they found the original manuscript, at least the copy would still be safe.

Meanwhile, Priya made her way back to the living room, her eyes meeting Samarth's. She gave a slight nod, indicating that the manuscript was safely hidden. The leader, growing frustrated with the fruitless search, turned to Samarth. "Enough games. Where is it?" he snarled.

Samarth took a deep breath. "It's in the attic," he said, hoping to lead them away from the hidden compartment. The men rushed to the attic, leaving Samarth and Priya alone for a moment. "We need to get out of here," Samarth whispered. "They won't stop until they find it."

Priya nodded, her eyes filled with determination. "Let's go," she said. They quietly made their way to the back door, slipping out into the night. The helicopter's rotors still whirred in the distance, but they knew they had to keep moving. The manuscript was safe for now, but their journey was far from over. The shadowy figure watching them from the shadows had set a dangerous game in motion, and Samarth and Priya were now its unwilling players.
