Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Conflicting Signs
Champ's POV 👑
"Uncle Henry!" I practically sobbed into the phone, curled up under the thickest blanket I could find while sitting on my couch.
"What happened? Is something wrong? I called to check on you, Champ, and it looks like my timing was just right." Uncle's voice was calm but concerned.
"I have so many questions! I'm confused, and I don't even know where to start." My frustration was evident.
"Take a deep breath, Champ. We'll go through everything one by one, okay?" Uncle reassured me.
I gritted my teeth. "Fine. First on my list—why can Omega females smell me, but I can't smell them?"
There was silence on the other end, except for the distinct sound of typing.
"Uncle? Are you still there?"
"Yes, Champ. I'm just reading something about your question. According to one of the studies I found, an Omega male's scent is quite different from that of Omega females. Only Omega females and Alpha males can detect it," he explained. "However, unlike you which is an Omega Male, your scent is much stronger than that of an Omega Female which is why you cannot smell their scent."
"Hmm... that makes sense. My classmate—an Omega female—could smell me, but I couldn't smell her. But that's so unfair! How am I supposed to stay undercover if I smell like lavender? That's such an Omega scent!" I groaned.
"Lavender, huh? So that's your pheromone scent. Interesting."
"So?"
"Has an Alpha smelled you yet?"
"Yeah, just one. But I made up an excuse—I told him he was probably smelling my mom's Omega scent from my ring," I said, feeling a bit smug about my quick thinking.
"Smart move. For now, they won't suspect anything. As long as they believe you're an Alpha, everything should be fine. But the moment your heat cycle kicks in, you'll have to keep your distance from any Alpha."
"Oh, you bet I will! I am not getting impregnated anytime soon!" I practically shouted.
Uncle sighed. "Champ, you mentioned that an Alpha smelled you. According to what I'm reading, Omega females can always detect your scent normally. But with Alpha males, only an exceptionally strong Alpha will be able to pick up your scent even when you're not in heat. That means the one who smelled you is extremely powerful. Do you know who he is?"
I frowned. "Wait, wait, wait. You're saying it's normal for Omega females to smell me, but most Alpha males won't? So there's a chance I can stay under the radar for a while?"
"Exactly. Only a dominant, high-ranking Alpha would be able to detect you in your normal state. Now tell me, who is this Alpha male?"
"Deux."
"Deux?" Uncle Henry's voice shot up an octave, his worry obvious.
"Yeah, Deux. Son of the Alpha King. Who else?" I sighed.
I heard Uncle take a deep breath. "Champ, listen to me very carefully. Stay away from him. Do not engage with him in any way. If he finds out you're an Omega, your life will never be the same. You won't be able to complete any of your missions."
"I know, Uncle. You don't have to tell me twice. I have no intention of letting Deux—or anyone—figure out what I really am. If they do, you'll be in danger too. You faked my certification, and I won't let you get caught because of me." My voice was serious now.
"Then please, Champ. No matter what happens, stay away from Deux. I don't want history repeating itself."
"History? What history?" My curiosity was instantly piqued.
"Dr. Henry, your next appointment is here," a voice said in the background.
Uncle sighed. "Sorry, Champ. I have to go. But if you ever need anything, call me or come find me."
"Fine, I still have a million questions, but I'll read the guidebook you gave me instead. Bye, Uncle." I hung up and stared at the ceiling, sighing.
Why the hell did I have to be an Omega?
My whole plan is ruined!
At least Uncle said average Alpha males wouldn't immediately figure me out unless I go into heat. That means I still have time.
And as long as Deux is the only one who can smell me, I should be safe... for now.
Still, Uncle's right—I have to avoid him at all costs. My life could literally be on the line.
But right now, I need to hit the gym before I overthink myself into an early grave.
I got up and walked toward the mirror, just to check if I looked... normal.
Wait a second.
I leaned closer.
I touched my face.
What. The. Hell.
Just yesterday, I had a few stubborn pimples from puberty. But now? Gone. Completely vanished. Like they were erased from existence.
And my eyelashes... Were they always this long?
And my lips?! I swiped a finger over them. They used to look normal, but now they were slightly pink and softer than usual.
My skin—my whole body—looked brighter.
Was this... Was this because of my Omega genes kicking in?!
"Hold on," I muttered, my eyes slowly lowering to—
No.
No, no, no!
There was one thing I had to check. The one thing I could not afford to lose!
My pride!
My manhood!
"Please, please don't let this change!" I whispered a prayer as I nervously pulled my shorts down.
I squeezed my eyes shut.
Breathed in.
And slowly... I opened them.
I looked down.
And then—
"NO!"
I grabbed a ruler with lightning speed. I knew the exact measurement. I had to confirm.
I measured.
And—
"What the actual—!" I nearly threw the ruler across the room.
"Two inches?! TWO?! From 7.5 to 5.5?! You have got to be kidding me!"
I fell back onto the couch, staring at the ceiling in despair.
This was it. This was my reality as an Omega.
I had spent years perfecting my body, making sure I had an Alpha-worthy physique. And now?
Gone.
Destroyed.
And the worst part? The worst part?!
I had showered with my gym buddies before. They knew my physique. They noticed things.
If they see me now?
Oh, hell no.
I can never shower with them again! They'll notice!
I groaned, rubbing my temples.
Even my hands were different now. I flipped them over. My fingers looked softer, my nails pinkish and clean.
Great. Fantastic. Should I start wearing gloves now?!
Maybe I should tan myself—at least to look more like an Alpha. Most of them had warm, golden skin.
Like Deux.
That bastard. That smug, tan, muscle-bound bastard.
I clenched my fists.
No.
I refused to lose.
If the universe thought it could turn me into some delicate little Omega, it had another thing coming.
I would find a way.
I had to.
Even my whole body seems to have lightened— should I be getting a tan spray? But most Alpha males have naturally tanned, brown skin, like Deux, whose muscular arms boast his natural brown tone.
(Phone ringing!)
I lazily peeked at my phone, which was lying on the sofa, and checked the message.
"Let's go! Gym time with the Beta males I recruited! 🥹 Then you can start organizing our new clan! I'll be your right-hand man, okay? —Jiggs"
I just said I couldn't let them see my body!
What if we have to shower together? I can't risk them noticing anything especially my shrinking pride and manhood! Back then, it was all casual—no second thoughts. But now? Now there's definitely something to hide!
Good thing I'll be surrounded by Beta males. At least there's some hope. I still have to meet them and act as a true Alpha leader.
I quickly typed my response.
"Okay. See you at the gym. Get the new recruits ready for the grueling initiation I've planned. Muhaha! 😈 —Champ."
"Nice! I love it! But I don't have to join the initiation, right? I'm already a clan member! 😇 —Jiggs"
"Everyone will join. —Champ."
"Oh no! 😭 —Jiggs"
I smirked.
Now... what kind of initiation should I make them go through?
Maybe I should punch their gut and see if they can take it without passing out?
Or better yet... they have to outperform me in every workout exercise?
Ohoho! This is going to be fun.
Should I push them to the limit in our workouts, making them grovel in submission? The thought sent an exciting shiver down my spine.

We were all at the gym now—me, Jiggs, and the four Beta males he had recruited.
Just as he said, these guys were way bigger than your average Beta males.
They looked like Deux's minions—built like Alpha males but still just Betas.
"Whoa! Is it just me, or is something different about you, Champ?" Jiggs squinted at me, scratching his head.
"What do you mean?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I dunno... your aura is kinda glowing today? Your skin's even smoother, and dude, all those pimples you used to have? Gone!" Jiggs teased, grinning.
I promptly smacked him on the head.
"You idiot!" I hissed. "Cut the nonsense—we're here for business. Now, you four, introduce yourselves. I want to know exactly why you want to join my Alpha clan. I need your intentions to be crystal clear."
I gave them all a hard stare, making sure they felt just a little bit intimidated.
The first guy stepped forward.
"I'm Marsh, 19 years old, Beta Male. I want to join your clan, Master Champ, because I watched your match against Deux, and it blew me away. I want to be part of a clan strong enough to rival one of the most feared clans," he said with determination.
I tried to keep my expression neutral, but inside, I was smirking.
Damn right.
I nodded proudly. "Next."
The second guy, a little younger, spoke up.
"I'm Gem, 18 years old, Beta Male. Like Marsh, I saw how you, an Alpha male, stood your ground against Deux. You're an inspiration to us Beta males."
Oh, ho, ho. My ego is inflating, but I totally kept my cool.
"Go on," I gestured to the next Beta, who looked particularly excited.
"I'm Martin, 18 years old, Beta Male! I will follow and obey your every command, Master Champ! You're our role model, and I just know our clan is gonna be the most powerful one out there!"
"That's what I like to hear!" I nodded enthusiastically.
Then the last Beta, stepped forward dramatically, almost like he was about to give a monologue.
"And I—I shall not be left behind! I am Daryl, an 18-year-old Beta Male! I've been watching you even when you were still just a Beta, Master Champ. Now that you've become a full-fledged Alpha, I want to be there to help build the foundation of our clan!"
Jiggs, beside me, was visibly emotional, practically sobbing, snot dripping from his nose.
I gagged. "For God's sake, Jiggs, pull yourself together!" I elbowed him before motioning for him to introduce himself properly.
"Ahem!" Jiggs cleared his throat and stood up straight. "I am Jiggs, the right-hand man of Master Champ. I am second in command! When Champ isn't around, I give the orders! I will maintain order within this clan! I hold all your information, so don't think you can hide anything from me! And if any of you even think about spying or betraying us, just know—I'll find out. Hehehe!"
Okay, sure, Jiggs is a bit of a coward, but when it comes to gathering intel, he is someone I can count on. I had no idea where he gets his information, but thanks to him, I knew things I probably shouldn't.
Now it is my turn.
"For those of you who don't know me well yet, I am Champ, your Alpha leader. My job is to protect this clan and ensure its growth. I promise that our territory will expand, and we will stand our ground against any other Alpha clan. My goal is simple—we do not bow to other Alphas. But most importantly..." I locked eyes with each of them, my voice dropping to a serious tone.
"We will rescue Omega females from aggressive Alpha males. That is our mission. Understood?"
"Understood, Master Champ!" they all shouted in unison.
Yes, you read that right. I'm not here just to flaunt power or strength—I'm here to protect Omega beings like myself.
Under my watch, no Omega—whether male or female—will suffer under the hands of an abusive Alpha.
Jiggs suddenly pumped his fist in the air. "Long live our clan! The Champ Clan! Follow me, Beta brothers!"
"LONG LIVE THE CHAMP CLAN!" the four Betas echoed.
I groaned.
"That name is awful. I hate it."
Jiggs blinked at me. "What do you wanna call it, then? I've got a whole list ready! How about Champion Clan? Clan Champy? Champ Babies? Champorado? Champ Clan the Unbeatable? Champ—"
I immediately shut him up. "God, I knew you had more! Stop! Just stop! Champ Clan is fine!"
Jiggs beamed. "LONG LIVE THE CHAMP CLAN!"
And just like that, the four Betas joined in again.
Meanwhile, I just stood there, feeling very self-conscious as other gym-goers started staring at us.
"...Alright, let's start the initiation!" I clapped my hands. "Simple rule: keep up with me during training. If I don't stop, you don't stop."
Just then—
(Sniff!)
Vanilla scent.
My body tensed.
Deux? He must be nearby.
I wasn't imagining it.
But just as quickly as I noticed it, the scent started to fade.
Did he see me?
Did he know I am here?
🤴 Deux's POV 🤴
"Champ Clan? Ha!" I uttered in disbelief while shaking my head.
Right now, I'm at the gym, trying to burn off the stress gnawing at my mind.
But fate has a cruel sense of humor.
Because in this very place lurks the one person who won't stop plaguing my thoughts.
I stay hidden, watching, listening. Their conversation is clear as day to me, and I can't help but scoff at the words spilling from their mouths. What exactly is Champ planning?
"Protect the Omegas?" I murmur under my breath. "And what does he gain from that? Is he just saying this to earn their trust? To manipulate them? To claim them as his own? Is that your game, Champ? You little cheater with all your scheme."
If so, then he has no idea what he's up against. Because I will be the one to stand in his way. I will dismantle every single one of his plans, piece by piece, until I uncover the truth behind who he really is.
As I continue watching from the shadows, I notice Champ's nose twitching. He's catching a scent.
My scent.
I grit my teeth. Of course, he would notice it—it's too strong to ignore. Among Alpha males, my scent is more potent, more commanding. Unlike the others, I don't just own my space—I dominate it.
Champ is restless now, his body tense as he searches the room. If he catches on, it won't take long before he finds me.
That's my cue to leave.
If I stay, I might make a mistake. Worse, I might lose control.
And if I lose control... there's no telling what might happen.
By the time I stepped out of the gym, I already had my phone pressed to my ear.
I called my subordinates—Beta males and a few Alphas under my command.
I need order. Control. I need to be sure that everything is in its rightful place.
🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬
That evening.
Dinner is served.
Across from me sits my father—the Alpha King. The prime minister of our world. The man who rules over us all.
Around us, Beta females dressed in pristine uniforms stand in waiting, ready to serve at a moment's notice.
We eat in silence until my father finally speaks.
"I heard you've expanded your territory, Deux," he says, his deep voice laced with amusement. "Word has reached me that you took down five Alpha clans today. What exactly are you trying to prove?"
I set my fork down and meet his gaze, unwavering.
"I just wanted to show you what kind of son you raised," I say coolly. "To prove that I am someone you can be proud of. That I will be the one to follow in your footsteps."
A slow, knowing smile spreads across my father's lips.
"Good," he says, nodding approvingly. "Show them your strength, my son. Prove that our power is absolute. When the time comes, you will take my place. But until then, you still have much to learn."
I bow my head slightly. "Understood, Father. I will do whatever it takes to maintain your rule over this world."
My father is pleased. He watches me with pride, believing I am walking the path he has set before me.
But deep inside, I am conflicted.
I should feel satisfied after taking down those five Alpha clans today. But instead... something is missing.
Something I can't explain.
Among all the Alpha leaders I faced, not a single one made me feel what I felt around Champ.
What does he have that they don't?
Why is he the only one who unsettles me?
I made it clear to everyone that I have no mercy. That no Alpha is above me. That I can crush them all if I so choose.
And yet... I can't seem to bring myself to crush him.
What is this feeling?
Confusion churns inside me, an unfamiliar unease creeping into my bones.
Should I tell my father about this? Would he have the answers I seek?
I take a deep breath and steel myself. Then, I look him in the eye.
"Father," I say. "There's something I need to tell you."
The weight of my secret and the complexity of my emotions hang in the air as I await his response, my heart pounding with the intensity of the moment.
