The Enigmatic Omega Male

Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Lavender

Champ's POV

"An Omega? Me? How the hell did that happen?"

I stared at my reflection in the bathroom mirror, completely dumbfounded. My hands roamed over my bare chest, feeling for any signs of change. Nothing. Not a single difference.

My muscles? Still rock-solid.

Biceps? Triceps? All accounted for.

Abs? Yep, still there.

And the crown jewel of my masculinity? Untouched, unchanged, still as glorious as ever.

Uncle Henry always said that as long as I kept working out, nothing would change too fast. But what about later? What happens in a few days? Weeks?

Would my body start looking like... like them?

Arghh!

No. I refuse. As long as I can help it, no one will ever know I'm an Omega. It would be the end of me.

Flashback

"What do I do, Uncle Henry? Your test says I'm an Omega! How do I even hide this?" I asked, panicked.

"Don't worry," he said, patting my shoulder reassuringly. "I'll take care of everything. I'll modify your test results. As far as anyone's concerned, you're a certified Alpha."

"But what if someone finds out?"

"No one will—unless you forget to take your SupprOmega on time. If you fail to take it before your heat stage kicks in, your Omega genes will take over instantly."

I swallowed hard. "And... how will I know when my heat stage is starting?"

"You'll feel light, almost feverish. Your body will burn up, and you won't be able to resist the urge to—" He cleared his throat. "—find an Alpha male to... well... you know."

I blinked at him, horrified.

"You won't be able to stop yourself," he added grimly before handing me a thick book. "This guide should help you keep everything under control. If anything feels off, call me immediately."

I clutched the book like a lifeline.

End of Flashback

"Maybe this is just a nightmare. Maybe I'm not really an Omega," I muttered, eyeing the book titled Guide to Being an Omega like it personally offended me.

Sighing, I plopped onto the sofa, grabbing a pillow and hugging it to my chest as I prepared to read.

Then I froze.

My sitting position... the way I was curled up, hugging a pillow like some delicate flower...

What the hell?

With a gasp, I yeeted the pillow across the room and immediately spread my legs apart in the most Alpha way possible.

"No way! Am I already acting like an Omega?! This has to be psychological! I need to think like a true Alpha!"

Determined, I sat in the dead center of the sofa, legs spread like I owned the damn place. My back straightened, my hands casually resting on my thighs like I was the king of the pack.

"That's right. I'm an Alpha. I AM AN ALPHA!"

But as I opened the book and read the first chapter—Signs of Omega Development in the First Few Weeks—my stomach twisted.

It detailed the transition from Beta to Omega, which should happen at exactly 18 years old.

And guess what?

Today is my 18th birthday!

📕 Guide to Omega 📕

Transitioning from Beta to Omega: What to Expect

Shift in Thought and Behavior:

As a Beta, you were free to think and act on your own terms. But as an Omega, that independence will fade. Your mind will instinctively yield to the commands of an Alpha. No matter how much you resist, a single word from them will compel you to obey—even if it goes against your will.

A Growing Sense of Inferiority

You'll start to feel weaker compared to Betas and Alphas. An innate instinct will take over, making you believe you need protection. Instead of standing your ground, you'll find yourself waiting for an Alpha—or even a Beta—to save you, like a princess awaiting her knight.

More Reserved and Refined Behavior

The impulsiveness of your Beta days will be replaced with cautious restraint. You'll think before you act, move with more grace, and adopt delicate mannerisms. You'll even start preferring well-groomed, stylish outfits—ones that make you more presentable and, whether you like it or not, more appealing to Alphas.

Heightened Caretaking Instincts

Unlike Alphas and Betas, an Omega has a strong nurturing nature. You'll develop an intense need to ensure those around you are safe and well. You'll crave order and cleanliness, and if you were once a messy or lazy Beta, you'll suddenly find yourself tidying up obsessively. Your living space will become your sanctuary, free from dirt, germs, or anything that threatens your sense of peace.

A Hunger for Knowledge

Your brain will start absorbing information more efficiently, and you'll feel a strong urge to learn. You'll want to be knowledgeable and well-spoken—because deep down, you'll want to impress an Alpha.

The Omega's Desire

Unlike Betas, who feel attraction only when provoked, Omegas experience a more instinctual pull toward Alphas. Outside of your heat cycle, these feelings will be manageable. But once your heat kicks in, your body will demand an Alpha's presence. You'll crave their claim, their mark. And if multiple Alphas set their sights on you? They'll fight for dominance—sometimes to the death. If things get out of control, you could end up caught in the crossfire.

No Choice in Mating

As an Omega, you don't get to choose your Alpha. It's the Alpha who claims their Omega. Even if you have the best ideas, the sharpest mind, or the perfect solution, an Alpha's word is final. You won't have the right to refuse or disagree.

I couldn't read any more!

The words blurred before my eyes as dread settled in my gut.

"No. No. No."

I slammed the book shut, my hands gripping it tightly.

There is no way in hell I am letting this happen! I wouldn't allow these changes to take over. No one can find out that I, Master Champ the Alpha, is actually an Omega!

I worked too hard to establish my dominance. Too many people feared and respected me. If they found out? It would all come crashing down.

I had to resist.

But then... my gaze flickered around my house.

The mess. The scattered clothes. The dust collecting on the furniture.

For the first time ever, it bothered me.

I stood up abruptly, shaking my head. No. No, I don't care about a little mess. I'm an Alpha! Alpha males don't clean!

"Champ, don't do it!" I slapped my own cheeks lightly, trying to knock some sense into myself.

But then, another thought crept in.

"But... there's nothing wrong with a clean house, right? What if guests come over? They'd like a clean space. Plus, what if I get sick from all this dust and filth?"

I hesitated.

One step forward. Then another. My hand reached out toward the cleaning supplies—only for me to pull it back as if I'd touched fire.

"No! This is just a one-time thing! After today, I won't clean again!"

But my body had other plans.

My left hand reached for the broom—my right hand tried to stop it.

Argh!

A battle between instinct and willpower raged inside me.

Was this the beginning of my Omega instincts?

Was my fate really to be... tidy?

I refused to accept it.

I wasn't ready.

🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬

The next morning...

(Alarm ringing!)

I groggily reached out and smacked my alarm clock, silencing its obnoxious blaring. I let out a deep sigh, sinking back into my bed, relishing the warmth of my blankets.

Wait... blankets? Plural?

Not only was I wrapped in two thick blankets, but I was also hugging the softest pillow imaginable.

Something wasn't right.

I used to sleep half-naked in just my boxers. Now, I was wearing... pajamas?

I never wore pajamas. Ever.

What the hell is happening to me? Is this another cursed change that came with being an Omega?

I groaned. No time to dwell on it. I had to get to university before my brain starts overanalysing things again.

At School...

As soon as I stepped into the classroom, I could feel eyes on me. My classmates were staring.

I ignored them, keeping my gaze locked on my desk. I needed to make sure I carried myself like an Alpha—strong, confident, and definitely not like an Omega.

"Hold it together, Champ. Walk like an Alpha. Think like an Alpha. Be an Alpha."

"Whoa! Look at you!" My best friend, Jiggs, whistled as I took my seat beside him. "Champ, is this what happens when your body starts changing? You never used to fix your hair, but damn, you're looking sharp! You're practically glowing!"

Jiggs, my ever-loyal Beta best friend. Unlike me, he was actually a Beta—his dad was a Beta, and his mom was an Omega.

Yeah, Betas could have kids with Omegas, but there was a catch: their offspring would always be either a Beta or an Omega. Betas could impregnate an Omega, but they couldn't claim one. Which meant that even if a Beta and an Omega were married, an Alpha could still come along and mark the Omega as theirs.

But whatever. None of that mattered.

What did matter was that Jiggs was a Beta and couldn't sniff out my Omega scent. If he were an Alpha, I'd be screwed.

"So, how's it feel to be a full-fledged Alpha now?" Jiggs grinned, nudging me.

I froze. "What do you mean?"

"Dude, we all know your dad's an Alpha. That basically guaranteed you'd be one too. I mean, look at you! You're built like an Alpha! Once you start your own clan, I'm definitely joining. And don't worry—I'll hunt down all the Omegas you want!"

"Ahh... haha. Yeah. Totally."

Crap.

I'd completely forgotten about clans.

Once an Alpha came of age, it is natural for them to start forming a pack. They'd gather loyal Betas, establish their dominance, and—of course—fight for Omegas and territories.

Clans weren't just about numbers. They were about power. Territory. Influence.

Which meant... I had to act like an Alpha leader, even if my very DNA was fighting against it.

"Bro, a ton of Betas are already interested in joining when you form your clan," Jiggs continued excitedly. "They know you're strong. Hell, I've been hyping you up non-stop. Everyone thinks you're gonna be one of the most powerful Alphas ever!"

"Wow... thanks for making decisions for me, Jiggs," I muttered, forcing a smile while internally screaming.

Could I really keep this up?

Could I trick an entire group of Betas into thinking I am their strong, dominant Alpha leader... when in reality, I am an Omega in disguise?

No one can ever find out.

Not now. Not ever.

"Cha-Champ! T-This is for you!"

A nervous voice spoke from behind me.

I turned around and found myself face-to-face with a girl holding out a small lunch box. The wrapping was decorated with cute little animals.

"For... me?" I pointed at myself, confused.

She nodded shyly. "Mm! I've liked you for a long time, but I was always too scared to talk to you. I'm Kaia, by the way!"

Jiggs leaned over, whispering, "Dude, I'm pretty sure Kaia's an Omega. Looks like she's into you now that you're officially an Alpha. And get this—she's not even in heat yet! She's already gravitating toward you. That Alpha scent of yours must be insane!"

Alpha scent? If only he knew how wrong he was.

I never talked to Kaia ever since. I always saw here sitting behind and just behaving like a regular Omega female trying to be pristine.

"For you, Champ!" Kaia said brightly. "It's a packed lunch box I made myself. I found out yesterday was your birthday, so... happy birthday! Oh, and congrats on becoming an Alpha!"

"Ahh... haha! Thanks!" I scratched the back of my head, feeling incredibly awkward.

As I reached for the lunch box, my fingers accidentally brushed against hers.

Kaia gasped.

Her breath hitched as she quickly pulled her hand away, covering her mouth as if she had just smelled something intoxicating.

Then, to my horror, she closed her eyes and inhaled deeply, as if savoring my scent.

I stiffened.

Something was very wrong.

"You... smell different, Champ," she murmured, opening her eyes.

My heart stopped.

"W-What do you mean?" I asked, feigning ignorance.

"I don't know how to explain it," she admitted. "It's just... different from the Alphas I've encountered before. But it's nice. Really nice."

Panic shot through me.

She smelled something. Hmm?

I had practically bathed myself in cologne to mask my scent!

Did I overdo it?!

"Lavender," Kaia whispered. "That's the scent I'm picking up."

I blinked. Lavender?

I was sure I used a masculine cologne. There was no way I should be smelling like that.

Unless...

Unless my Omega genes were naturally emitting a scent stronger than my perfume!

Shit.

I really needed to read more of Uncle Henry's guidebook.

Kaia smiled sweetly. "Don't worry, Champ. When my heat cycle starts, I'll come to you. I've liked you for a long time—even before you awakened as an Alpha."

Jiggs let out a low whistle. "Damn, Champ. You're really pulling them in now. Congrats! You're about to have your pick of Omegas."

I forced a laugh. "Haha... yeah. Of course. I'll, uh... I'll mark you and everything, Kaia!"

"That's my future clan leader!" Jiggs grinned, clapping me on the back.

But inside, my brain was spiraling.

How the hell was I supposed to impregnate an Omega female... when I am in fact an Omega male?!

I really should've asked Uncle Henry about this.

Wait, I am still a male, and that is a fact! Hmm? Can I still impregnate someone?

"I'm heading back to my seat now, Champ! I don't want to disturb you!" Kaia said with a bright smile before skipping back to her desk.

"You lucky bastard!" Jiggs teased, nudging me. "She straight-up said she wants you to get her pregnant! Man, you're living the dream!"

"If only you knew, Jiggs..."

"Knew what?"

"Nothing!"

I couldn't tell anyone my secret. Not even Jiggs. He is my best friend, but if the wrong people found out... he'd be in danger just for knowing.

So I had no choice. I had to keep acting like an Alpha.

As far as the world is concerned, I am Champ, the Alpha male. Nothing more, nothing less.

"Ugh, I'm starving. Let's grab something to eat," I said, shaking off my thoughts.

"Yeah, let's hit the canteen—wait, crap! I forgot! You're an Alpha now. Should I even be suggesting stuff to you?" Jiggs asked, suddenly looking nervous.

"Relax, man. It's fine. Actually, let's split the lunch Kaia gave me. You in?"

Jiggs gave me a weird look. "Okay... but that's new. You never share food. I remember you used to say, 'An Alpha takes what's his and doesn't share with anyone.'"

"Oh, right! Scratch that, then! I will eat, and you will just sit there and watch me eat!" I declared, dramatically holding the lunch box close to my chest.

Jiggs snorted. "Not intimidating enough. You need more practice, Champ."

I groaned. This was going to be harder than I thought.

🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬

At the Canteen...

We settled down at a table, and I carefully unwrapped the lunch box Kaia had given me.

The moment I lifted the lid, I froze.

Kaia had decorated the rice with seaweed flakes to make it look like my face. Everything was neatly arranged—omelet, vegetables, meat, even a side of salad. It was beautiful.

It felt... almost wrong to eat it.

I was about to just admire it when I noticed Jiggs staring at me.

Crap.

Had I been... too delicate when opening it?

Was I already acting too Omega-like again?!

Panic surged through me. I grabbed my spoon and aggressively mixed everything together, ruining the careful arrangement Kaia had made.

Jiggs nodded in approval. "Yup. No doubt about it. Total Alpha move. You don't care about presentation at all."

I sighed in relief. Thank god Jiggs is a little slow sometimes.

"Heh, being an Alpha must be nice," Jiggs suddenly said, his voice quieter than before. "Us Betas? We're stuck where we are. No climbing higher, no leading packs. Just... existing."

I glanced at him. Was he actually upset about being a Beta?

Then, just like that, he snapped back to his usual self, laughing. "But hey, when you become a scary Alpha, remember me, okay? I'm your childhood best friend, man! Don't make me eat dirt off the street!"

I smirked. "Then you better watch how you speak to me, Jiggs. I am your future leader, after all."

He gasped dramatically. "Oh no, my great Alpha lord, please have mercy on this lowly Beta!"

We both burst out laughing.

Jiggs might not be serious most of the time, but damn, having him around made things easier.

"Seriously, though," he said after a moment. "I got your back, Champ. No matter what happens, I'll support you. You're my best friend."

That actually warmed my chest a little. "Thanks, man."

"Ugh! Don't smile at me like that! What if I start liking you?!" Jiggs fake-shuddered. "Wait, can Betas even fall for Alphas? Nah, I don't think so."

"You moron, of course not! And even if you could, I'd never allow it! I am your leader!" I said, puffing out my chest.

"But hey," Jiggs continued, getting curious again. "What's it like? Y'know, smelling Omegas? We Betas can't do that. We just go off looks and personality, but you Alphas go feral when an Omega's around. What did Kaia smell like to you?"

I froze.

Shit.

I had no idea what Kaia smelled like.

Omegas were supposed to have specific scents, but since I wasn't actually an Alpha, I couldn't pick up on them. If I didn't answer fast, Jiggs would get suspicious.

"Uh... um... she smelled like roses," I blurted out.

Jiggs raised an eyebrow. "Like perfume?"

"Yeah! Exactly! She probably wears rose-scented perfume."

Jiggs shrugged. "Makes sense. Though, it's weird... she said you smelled different from any Alpha she's met before. As far as I know, Omega females can smell Alpha males naturally. The more powerful an Alpha male is, the more intoxicating their scent is for the Omega females. That's what I have known from the books I've read."

I stiffened.

Does it mean I can smell an Alpha male when they are nearby? Seems to me that it's a good thing for me to be more cautious.

"What... do you mean?" I asked carefully.

Jiggs scratched his head. "I dunno. I wasn't really paying attention when she was sniffing her fingers after touching you. She just said something about your scent being unique."

I clenched my fists.

Kaia was not supposed to notice anything. How come I couldn't smell her scent but she were able to detect mine?

Funny.

If an Omega like her could smell something off about me, what about an Alpha? Would they be able to tell I wasn't really one of them?

Jiggs smirked. "Man, I've got so many questions for you. Like, once we start our clan, what should we call you? Leader? Boss? King?"

I groaned, shoving a spoonful of rice into my mouth.

"Arrrgghhh! Just shut up and eat!"

🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬

After Jiggs and I finished eating, I instinctively started cleaning up. I carefully packed up the lunch box Kaia had given me and wiped down the table.

"Give me your tray, Jiggs. I'll throw it away for you," I said, already reaching for his mess.

"Huh?" Jiggs blinked at me.

"Oh, and here—use this hand sanitizer." I offered him a bottle from my bag.

"Champ... are you feeling okay?"

"What? Of course!"

"Dude... are you my mom?" Jiggs snorted. "This is exactly what my Omega mom does after we eat."

I stiffened.

Crap.

Not again!

I needed to cover this up—fast.

"This is a one-time thing!" I announced dramatically. "Starting tomorrow, I'll order you around like a true Alpha! And instead of sorting our trash properly, I'll intentionally throw biodegradable waste into the non-biodegradable bin. What an evil thing to do, right?!"

Jiggs laughed. "Man, your head must still be all over the place. Probably 'cause you're still adjusting to your Alpha instincts."

I nodded along, pretending that was totally the case.

"Anyway, I'll wait here while you throw the trash away," Jiggs continued. "I'll keep working on organizing your future clan."

"Good! Make sure to recruit only the strongest Betas!" I declared.

"That's why I chose you as my Alpha leader!" Jiggs grinned.

With that, I hurried over to the trash bins before my Omega instincts betrayed me again.

But no matter how hard I tried to fight them, they were starting to slip through.

🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬

When I reached the trash bins, I found myself sorting through the waste more carefully than usual.

Jiggs had left some leftover rice in his tray.

While no one is looking on what I am doing...

"This should go in the biodegradable bin," I muttered to myself. "That way, the waste workers won't have a hard time sorting through it. And if we throw food waste into the non-recyclable bin, it might cause mold—"

I froze.

Did I just say that out loud?

I clenched my jaw. Focus, Champ! Act like an Alpha!

But before I could finish, something unexpected happened.

A powerful scent hit me—one so strong and intoxicating that it made my mouth water.

Vanilla.

Sweet, rich, addictive vanilla.

It was so strong, so overwhelming, that I instinctively turned my head, trying to locate the source.

Was there an ice cream shop nearby? Because now, I am craving vanilla ice cream.

But before I could investigate further, someone grabbed my wrist.

A firm, unrelenting grip.

I whipped around—only to be met with an intense gaze.

"You're an Alpha, aren't you?" the man in front of me asked. His grip tightened. "So why are you throwing away food instead of ordering your Beta to do it?"

I stared up at him.

Tall. Powerful. Broad-shouldered.

Behind him stood five Betas, all standing stiffly in formation.

This guy isn't just an Alpha. He is a leader.

And the scent of vanilla?

It was coming from him.

Wait... is this the scent of a true Alpha?!

My breath hitched. My pulse pounded.

I had no time to respond before my phone vibrated.

I quickly glanced at the screen. A message from Jiggs.

"Bro! That's DEUX standing in front of you! Don't mess with him! He's one of the strongest Alpha leaders—and the son of the Prime Minister which is the ALPHA KING! - Jiggs"

I stiffened.

The son of the Prime Minister, the Alpha King himself?

If he finds out I am an Omega, it would be game over.

I had to get away. Now!

But Deux isn't letting go.

"I smell something... strange on you," Deux murmured. His eyes narrowed. "There's a lingering scent of lavender beneath your cologne. It's subtle, but... enticing."

My breath caught in my throat.

Oh, shit.

I fought the urge to step back as Deux leaned in slightly, studying me.

"You don't smell like an Alpha," he whispered, his piercing gaze locking onto mine.

I swallowed hard.

His eyes... they were striking. A mix of deep blue and vibrant green, like the endless ocean crashing against a lush forest. Hypnotic. Dangerous.

Damn it, Champ! Focus!

This is not the time to admire the enemy!

I have to think of something—fast.

I have to escape before he digs any deeper.
