Chapter 15: The Whispering Voice

Ryan's eyes were still locked onto Emma's, but she could see the fear slowly being replaced by determination.

"Okay," Ryan whispered. "Let's go check it out."

Emma nodded, and together they slowly started to move towards the source of the noise.

As they got closer, Emma could feel her heart pounding in her chest. What were they going to find?

Suddenly, Ryan stopped in his tracks. "Wait," he whispered. "Do you hear that?"

Emma listened closely, and soon she heard it too - the sound of faint whispering.

It was soft and raspy, and it seemed to be coming from all around them.

Emma's skin crawled as she realized that they were not alone in the lab.

The whispering grew louder, and Emma could make out words.

"Get out while you still can," the voice whispered.

Emma's heart skipped a beat. Who or what was behind the voice?

Ryan's eyes were wide with fear. "What do we do?" he whispered.

Emma took a deep breath. She knew they had to get to the bottom of this.

"We need to find out who or what is behind this voice," Emma said, her voice firm.

Ryan nodded, and together they started to move forward, determined to uncover the truth.

But as they walked, the whispering grew louder, more urgent.

"Turn back now," the voice whispered. "While you still can."

Emma felt a chill run down her spine. What was going on?

She looked at Ryan, and saw that he was just as scared as she was.

But they couldn't turn back now. They had to know what was going on.

"Let's keep moving," Emma whispered.

Ryan nodded, and together they continued on, the whispering growing louder with every step.

As they turned a corner, Emma saw a door that she had never noticed before.

It was hidden behind a row of shelves, and it looked like it hadn't been used in a long time.

The whispering seemed to be coming from the other side of the door.

Emma's heart was racing. What was she going to find on the other side?
