The Dungeon Tree

Chapter 27: Begin

"Okay everyone, welcome to the event I'll be holding that'll last around a week. Before we begin I need to explain somethings with you guys. First of all, only two people per guild can enter. Second of all, killing is prohibited. If you are caught killing someone then we'll gladly avenge their death." Daz said.

Everyone around me started whispering to each other. I let out a small yawn and kept my focus on Daz. Daz waited for everyone to quiet down and cleared his throat.

"You have four challenges to complete until you'll be allowed to enter a small tournament. Only the first eight teams will be able to participate in the tournament." Daz said.

More whispering could be heard from the crowd around me. I let out a sigh and wondered when Daz would tell us what the challenges were.

"I'll be giving you all a small headband. Your goal is to steal as many headbands in the limited time you have as fast as possible. Finally, only sixty-four guilds will pass this round. You have ten minutes to prepare yourselves and decide who'll compete. Good luck everyone!" Daz said. I watched as Daz let out a deep breath and walked off stage.

I turned to face my party and see who will compete but it seemed like it was already decided. I let out a small sigh and shrugged.

"So I guess I'm going no matter what, but we still need to decide who'll be going with me. I for one thing Steven would do the best working with me." I said. Everyone nodded at what I had said officially making me and Steven work as a team.

After the ten minutes were up I noticed that some of Daz's people we walking around giving everyone a headband. When I finally got mine it had a number on it.

"What's the number for?" I asked. The person who gave it to me shrugged and continued giving out headbands to other people. At that time I also noticed that only one person per team was getting one.

Once everyone got their team's headband Daz walked back up to the stage. He took one good look at everyone that was participating in the event, which to say the least was a lot.

"Now that everyone has their headband you're free to start now. You have twenty minutes so it'd be a good idea not to waste them." Daz said.

For a small moment everyone was silent, but that silence soon ended with everyone rushing at each other. I quickly grabbed onto Steven and began looking for a place to stay safe. What once was a quiet yet busy had now become what could only be explained as complete chaos.
