Chapter 31: Chapter 30 clinging to life.
Boom!
Shing!
Edward was propelled backward by the immense burst of energy caused by the collision between Duraural and Azphel. Still lacking control of his body mid-air, he infused his sword aura into both blades to enhance their destructive power.
Holding the handles of both swords up towards the sky and the blades pointing downward, Edward adjusted his grip to an unconventional stance.
As Edward saw the vast view of the cliff rushing toward him, he focused on increasing the mana within his body to prepare for impact.
When the cliff was just 10 feet away, the blizzard, momentarily dispersed by the burst of energy, began to regain its contrast.
"Damn it, please work!" Edward shouted.
Crash!
Edward impacted the cliff's surface stabbed his swords into the earthy exterior and immediately infused his frost essence within the swords to hold them in place.
Just like how you could get serious health problems by overworking your body, the same goes for overusing your body's core. If Edward used up all his mana, his core would be depleted, placing a corresponding burden on his body, and currently, he was forcibly refilling his body with the vast amount of lingering ice essence in the surrounding area which could both prove to be beneficial and not.
"Hu haa hoo hoo haa huu.." Edward continued to breathe roughly with his grip locked onto the sword's handle desperately clinging to life while his body saged suspended in the air.
The usage of ice essence to harden body was effectively harming his body whilst providing life support.
As Edward tightened his grip, his hands accidentally spilled a crimson liquid onto his ashen gray hair.
Gritting his teeth Edward's eyes turned bloodshot from exhaustion, but fortunately, he was still alive.
Edward began to focus on the four stars of his White flame formula and rotated them at a volatile speed.
He began to drift into his mind's realm and began to envision a vast landscape covered in ice and frost. Hilly peaks towered in the distance, while the sky itself was shrouded in a broad gray hue. The landscape was adorned with numerous intricate dulled golden runes, each shimmering in the cold air. At the center of this frozen realm stood a tall altar, where a long, pale gray sword was chained and embedded deep into the ground.
Above the altar hovered a magnificent array of brilliant golden spell formulas, being intricately engraved into the fabric of the space. As Edward wove his spell, the complex runes etched across the landscape began to react, shifting and converging toward the altar, where they densely packed into the gray sword.
This sword was once known as a Holy Relic.
As the spell was nearing its completion, the runes surrounding the landscape were drawn towards the gray sword, which began to emit a radiant light of white and yellow. The entire landscape was bathed in a glow similar to a rising sun. This warm and beautiful light brought a sense of calm and safety to anything that came into contact with it.
The source of this magnificent light was Arondight, an incomplete version of a legendary holy relic that was drawing closer to its physical form. Edward dematerialized Durandal and manifested Arondight. Although this sword represented limitless power and the ability to absorb any attack without damage, Edward's limited mana pool restricted him to only a fraction of its true potential.
In Edward's hand appeared a bright, polished blade that reflected the purity of his heart.
The sword was a deep, bland gray—its monotone color lacked awe-inspiring qualities for any observer, which stood in stark contrast to Arondight's heavenly craftsmanship.
However, Edward didn't need extravagant lights to understand the sword's true power. Not only a Sword for combat but When commanded, the sword could transform into a suit of gray, dull armor.
"2nd Arondight," murmured Edwards
Instantly, the sword glowed with a gray hue and melted around Edward's arm and torso, slowly shaping itself into a suit of silver-gray armor with a regal appearance.
Still grasping Azpel, Edward kicked off the wall releasing his sword from the cliff, and started to continue his descent down the mountain and toward the ground.
Seeing the ground become closer and closer Edward braced for impact.
Colliding with an ice tree Edward's fall lost some force.
BOOM!
CRASH!
Edward pummeled into the ground and created a large shock wave. This collision decimated the ground and created a large crater several feet in depth.

Several days passed
Edward was in an unconscious state after impacting the ground.
He was trapped within the deepest region of the frosted forest.
alone and trapped

The Mythological Era- a time before record, with only myth as evidence of its existence, a time where gods coexisted with mortals and where mortals could become gods… now all evidence of such a thing no longer exists, humans can no longer become gods and gods are no longer around. With the exception of the light, an ambiguous entity that has never revealed themself.
This era of ambiguity existed before the time of spirit kings, the corporeal manifestations of elements, and the dragons that live tens of thousands of years have no records of.
Why did the world change so much? This is not known…. Not even Edward, a being who has lived countless lives & visited worlds filled with gods and deities could explain their absence?
Just why?

Edward was extremely lucky to have survived that fall even with the combination of '2nd Arondight' which was only able to nullify some of the impact of the fall due to its incomplete manifestation, which if the fall did land incorrectly would have killed him.
But mercifully Edward collided with several Ice pines before colliding with the ground.
The frigid temperatures lurked around this region, the tempest mixed with snow and rain rules dominate in this isolated valley.
Monsters of odd proportions also Loitered within the forest.
The light was barely visible within the forest, but this would not affect Edward.
Even within a comatose state Azphel was still in Edward's grasp subconsciously and his body was still regulating mana consumption and biological functions, this was an easy task for him due to the thousands of years of rigorous training.
As Edward opened his eyes, a bolt of excruciating pain shot through every fiber of his being. His muscles were tense from the extreme cold, making his movements struggle and forced.
Looking around, Edward realized he had no idea where he was or how much time had passed.
"HAHAHAHAHA KEKEKEKEKEKE AHAHAHAH!" Edward laughed in joy.
Edward laughed in joy as he realized the predicament he was in.
The joy was caused not by his insanity but by the unexpectedness of the situation, edward remembered that this whole situation was caused because he entered a cavern filled with Ice-spiders and fought before jumping off a cliff.

I am excited to write about the future of Edward It will be extremely fun to write about
:} If you want to see something in the novel I will add it, if it's not rom con stuff. Why? Well, that's because I don't know shit about it and I don't want to write about it because it does not make sense for Edward's character.
