The dark dragon

Chapter 9: Chapter 8: stopping a rebellion before it starts

Two months have passed since my conquest the people have already gotten used to me as there new king.

I've been extremely busy in these two months I first needed to look on the farming situation. It wasn't really a surprise that the soil of the island was practically unfertile he expected as much.

But then brought up the question of what was he gonna do about the raids. As much as he wanted just to ban them, he couldn't not only was that their main form of income besides trading, but it would also fuck up the economy.

So in the end he decided to keep it, but with only one restriction no capture of any noble it doesn't matter how long or how high they are in the Noble hierarchy not counting times of war, of course.

He did this since most nobles and king didn't really care about the common people they care more about their own interest or other nobility so if they don't feel targeted, they're not gonna want it target us even if we do raid in their lands.

This policy was not at first accepted some openly against the new law, but those people were quickly castrated in their body cutting pieces and hanged from the top of his castle that managed to boost his fear stat.

After that not much has happened besides something he learned, they caught his attention.

He can level up his new class without him doing anything as this was his domain and with his [high lord of pillaging] just by the action of his people on the ocean and on different islands doing raids.

Some of his skills managed to be upgraded due to this, and he managed to get some new skills.

.....Yeah, he got a lot of stuff I guess he was playing the role of a sea Lord good enough he thought to himself.

Well, on this rate, he was probably going to max out the class before the end of the year.

And these two months, he also had had more progress learning Eromancy he managed to learn some spells and he had fun using them on a certain redhead.

I'm looking forward to learning more spells of this branch of magic (from my own pleasure obviously) but I feel like I need to focus on more combat magics in general.

"Your grace you're needed in the council room" one of his guards told him as he got up and his expression became serious.

From all the time He's been here this was the first time that he was told that there was a council meeting usually all council meetings are scheduled in advance so every time there were one he knew to attend.

This one was sudden, making him think it was probably something more serious than needed his attention.

As he left his throne room guards following him as he walked through the castle, in the council there are 11 seats currently only five of those seats are being used, counting him in those five.

When he finally made it to the council room, he simply opened the door and went directly to his seat sitting next to him was Marcel.

The moment he sat down Two men and a woman bow, of the two men the one closest to him look like a man in his 30s his height was probably around 5'5 or 5'6 the man had long black hair and blue eyes the man was wearing a formal red suit, this man was Kragen greywater lord of largehall one of the main islands he was part of the council since he was the richest man in the kingdom do to graywys which is the name of the island he governs over what's the island with the biggest mines in the kingdom which produce a lot of higher, which had given them a lot of wealth.

The other man has similar features, long black hair with intense blue eyes unlike Kragen who was a short man, this guy had to be almost 7 feet tall the man was full of muscle and was wearing a full black armor.

This man was Kyron blackwater cadet branch of house greywater Kyron was nephew of Kragen and second son of Lord blackwater and the leader of his guards.

The last person, the woman who was sitting next to Marcel was.....well to say the least, the most beautiful woman he has ever seen in this world the woman was wearing a traditional nun outfit (but with no crosses symbolizing) the offer clearly showing her religious ties but even that outfit could not hide her incredible figure The woman had the biggest pair of tits he has ever seen har ass was incredible as well she had long blonde hair with a pair of beautiful blue eyes and a beautiful face frankly he is surprise that this woman hasn't been assaulted before considering the savages that live here.

The considering the woman was the high priest of this countries's entire religion. He couldn't be that surprised. For a society that was built on essentially piracy, they were shockingly very religious.

(Which he read what was the equivalent of the Bible of their faith it had a lot of similarities with other religions of his home world, which wasn't surprising it was essentially a mix of Christian mythos's and north mythology.

Considering his knowledge of this world, he noticed something similar between this religion and the religions, he knew of Britannia but instead of worshiping the goddesses the people who worship the "Sea God" it was definitely something he was interested in)

The woman was named Syria the high priestess of the water temple which was actually located in the island of peak which was his main domain.

So what's the sudden meaning for I ask, laying on my chair as everyone else sat down.

"Your grace it appears lord redcrow scheming against you" said Kragen what do you mean I said looking at him directly making the man move slightly uncomfortable.

"You're great lord redcrow is planning to crown a bastard boy who was apparently fathered by his majesty Harry" say Kyron with a serious expression.

Who the fuck is Harry he taught to himself before filling an intense pain the entire family tree of house Varangia entering his mind.

...So the Man they're talking about Harry lll the father of William and apparently the father of a child that lord redcrow was flashing in his home.

What's the kids name I asked different plans coming to my head. "From what we know his name is Edgar. He's said to be about seven years old."

Edgar. A name as unremarkable as the child likely was. Still, he was a threat, and threats had to be neutralized.

"I want Edgar taken alive," I said after a moment, the weight of my authority pressing down on the room. "Bring him here. When the time comes, he'll be made my squire."

The room was silent, save for the faint creak of my chair as I leaned forward. Marcel raised an eyebrow but said nothing, her calculating mind likely racing to understand my reasoning. Kragen and Kyron, however, exchanged a glance, clearly puzzled.

"Squire, your grace?" Kyron finally asked, his deep voice tinged with confusion.

"Yes," I said, my lips curling into a sly smile. "He's a child. Impressionable. If I take him under my wing, he'll grow loyal to me and more importantly, he'll serve as a symbol of my mercy. The people will see that I'm not some tyrant who slaughters children."

I let that hang in the air for a moment before continuing. "And if, by some chance, he grows rebellious, well... I'll have plenty of time to teach him the error of his ways. Besides, a boy who grows up under my watch will have no allies in Redcrow's camp by the time he's of age."

Kragen nodded slowly, his discomfort easing. "That's... shrewd, your grace. Very shrewd."

Marcel finally spoke, her voice smooth and sweet. "And what of Lord Redcrow himself? Surely his actions deserve some... response."

I met her gaze, my smirk widening. "Oh, don't worry, Marcel. Lord Redcrow will answer for his insolence. But first, we'll let him think his little scheme is succeeding. Let him grow complacent, confident. When the time is right, we'll strike. Hard."

The council murmured their approval, and I felt a surge of satisfaction. These people might be savages, but they understood power. They respected it. And so long as I kept wielding it with precision, they would follow me.

"Kyron," I said, turning to the armored giant. "Take your best men and retrieve the boy. No harm is to come to him, is that understood?"

"Yes, your grace," Kyron said, bowing his head. "I'll leave at once."

"And Kragen," I added, my gaze shifting to the shorter man. "Keep an eye on Redcrow. I want to know his every move."

"Of course, your grace," Kragen replied, his voice trembling slightly under my scrutiny.

With that settled, I dismissed the council, my thoughts already turning to the next steps.

As the others filed out of the room, Marcel lingered, her lips curving into a knowing smile. "You really are something, my lord," she said, her voice low and honeyed.

I smirked, rising from my seat. "Of course I am, Marcel. That's why I'm king."

She laughed softly, falling into step beside me as I left the council chamber. There was much to do, but for now, I allowed myself a moment of satisfaction. Varangia was mine, and soon, even my enemies would kneel before me.

- Redcrow -

The tension in the war council room was palpable. Lord Redcrow paced nervously before the large oak table, his fingers drumming against the wood as he awaited the final confirmation from his spies. His mind raced, plotting and scheming, but deep down he knew that something had gone terribly wrong. The boy, his bastard claim to power, was still in his possession. However, his plans to use him as a rallying figure against the usurper now seemed uncertain.

"Report, man!" Redcrow snapped, his impatience growing as he stood at the head of the council. His advisors, a mix of military strategists and noble allies, sat at attention. The war was about to begin, but there was something weighing heavily on his mind.

"Your lordship" said a trembling man who had just entered the room, a messenger with wide eyes, "there's news. A large force... it's the usurper. They've arrived."

Redcrow's brow furrowed. "What do you mean they? His forces are far away."

"Not anymore, my lord," the messenger replied, his voice strained. "His army is here, already encamped just outside our walls. But there's more."

Redcrow raised an eyebrow. He could feel the ground shifting beneath his feet. He had known that the usurper was a dangerous man, especially with that beast of his but this... This was not what he had anticipated.

The messenger hesitated, clearly struggling to find the words. "My lord, he's come... not just with his army. He's brought something from the sea."

Before Redcrow could speak, the messenger hurriedly opened the window, and the room fell silent as all eyes turned toward the sight beyond.

Outside the fortress walls, the once calm sea had turned dark with movement. Towering figures emerged from the water, massive krakens whose tentacles writhed and slapped against the surface, sending waves crashing against the cliffs. And above them, the unmistakable form of the usurper himself.

He was perched high in the sky, sitting atop the head of a massive sea serpent. The creature's glowing eyes gleamed with a primal intelligence as it twisted through the air like a living weapon, carrying the usurper effortlessly. His form was an imposing silhouette against the morning sun, his cloak billowing in the wind, and his presence radiating the authority of someone who had already won the war before it had even begun.

The sight of the krakens and the serpent was enough to send a chill down the spine of Redcrow's men, some of them whispering prayers under their breath, others frozen in shock. It was a show of overwhelming power that could not be ignored.

"Impossible..." Redcrow whispered, his mouth dry. "How did he...?"

The messenger nodded grimly. "He's here. With his army, his magic, and his creatures. And he wants the boy."

Redcrow's face tightened as realization struck. the usurper wasn't here for a battle. He had come to claim what was his, to take the child away from him before he could use him as a pawn. And with these monstrous beasts and his control over the seas, there was nothing Redcrow could do to stop him now.

Before Redcrow could form another thought, the doors to the council room slammed open, and a guard stepped in with a bowed head.

"My lord, the usurper is here. He commands his forces to stand ready. The krakens have already surrounded the port, and the sea serpent... it's hovering just above the castle gates. His magic is powerful, but we... we cannot stop him."

Redcrow's grip tightened on the arm of his chair, his knuckles white. He had lost. The boy, his last hope for rebellion, was no longer his to control.

"Send the child to the usurper," Redcrow growled, his voice bitter with defeat. "Let him take the bastard. I don't care anymore. We've lost."

The room fell silent, the weight of his words hanging heavy in the air.

The messenger hesitated before nodding and exiting the room.

- Artorius -

As I saw the boy being taken by one of my soldiers taken back to my home I decided to continue what I was planning to do after I got the boy.

I raised my hand high, my fingers splaying out as I felt the rhythm of the sea respond to my will. The waves around me rippled and trembled as if waiting for my command. I closed my eyes for a moment, drawing upon the magic that bound me to the ocean's depths. My voice echoed in my head, a whisper that connected me to the sea itself.

"Come forth. Show them the might of the depths of the blue Sea."

My kraken, the enormous beast of terror born from the abyssal depths, rose from the water with a colossal roar. Tentacles as thick as pillars surged out of the waves, wrapping around the ruins of the castle walls. With one powerful motion, it smashed the outer defenses into splinters.

But I didn't stop there. My magic surged through me, connecting my will with the ocean's vast energy. I spread my arms, manipulating the water, forming massive torrents that leapt from the sea and crashed onto the island with unrelenting force. The waves tore through homes, shattered markets, and obliterated entire streets. With another wave of my hand, I focused the torrents on the main keep Redcrow's house and watched as it crumbled into twisted rubble beneath the unforgiving strength of the ocean.

The sound of destruction echoed through the island, a cacophony of splintering wood and stone. My enemies' cries were swallowed by the roaring waves.

I stood tall amidst the devastation, my breath steady, my heart beating with the certainty of my power. The chaos and ruin spoke louder than any words. My men began to gather around me, their eyes wide with awe and disbelief.

"All hail Artorius" I heard making me move my head, seeing one of the soldier open my arm that I brought start yelling as quickly as that one soldier started the right follow suit, lifting their weapons in the air and streaming "All hail Artorius".

A small smile appear on my face.

I'm probably going to regret this but for now I'm going to enjoy this.

- Syria -

The first time I heard of Artorius, I thought it was just another rumor. The whispers carried over the winds like an ominous storm cloud, but I didn't pay them much heed. They spoke of a man no, a force who could control the seas, who could summon storms, and who could crush kingdoms beneath his wrath. At first, I dismissed it. After all, legends were often exaggerated. But then, I felt it. The pull.

I had been meditating by the shore, feeling the salt air on my skin, when the sea spoke to me. It was subtle at first just a fleeting whisper, a ripple beneath the surface of my consciousness. But it grew stronger, louder, until it became a clear and undeniable voice. It was as if the ocean itself had been calling me, urging me to listen, to understand. And then I saw it the vision.

In that moment, I realized with shocking clarity: Artorius was not just a man. He was the second coming of the Sea God, an incarnation of the very force that governed the oceans and the storms. I could feel the power emanating from him in waves, sweeping through the world like a tidal wave of destiny. His influence over the sea was undeniable absolute. And the more I watched, the clearer the truth became.

I saw him standing tall, a dark figure against the roaring waves, his hands raised as the sea bent to his will. The oceans parted before him, and the elements themselves obeyed his command. Earth trembled at his feet, fire and wind danced around him in harmony, and the very sky seemed to darken in reverence. He was not merely a conqueror; he was a god, and I was witnessing his ascension.

A cold thrill ran through me as I saw his potential. He would rise to become something far greater than any mortal man. His power would know no limits. But that vision was not the only one that seized my mind.

There was another, one that left me breathless, my heart racing as the future unfolded before my eyes. In this vision, I saw myself standing by his side, no longer a mere follower, but a partner in his divine ascent. I saw his hand on my cheek, his eyes burning with the promise of more than just power. He was taking me, claiming me as his own. His touch was gentle, but there was an undeniable sense of authority behind it, as if he knew that I was meant to be his. I saw myself kneeling before him, my loyalty unquestioned, my heart bound to his in a way that only a woman who had been touched by divine power could understand.

When the vision ended, I could feel the heat in my cheeks, a blush that I couldn't suppress no matter how hard I tried. It was destiny. I could see it so clearly now. Artorius, the Sea God reborn, would rise to claim his throne not just of the oceans, but of the entire world. And I... I would be there, by his side, his devoted consort.

It wasn't just a dream. It wasn't just a fleeting fantasy. No, I knew this was the truth. He was my god, and I was his fated to be the one to guide him, to help him ascend to the heavens where he belonged. I would do whatever it took to help him realize his power.

I began my preparations immediately. My mind was consumed by him, by the thought of his divine power and the role I would play in his rise. I would give him everything: my loyalty, my strength, my heart. Artorius would ascend to godhood, and I, Syria, would stand beside him his most devoted follower, his confidante, and eventually... his woman.

There was no question in my mind. He was the Sea God, and I was destined to be his.
