Chapter 122: Dia vs Thor 2
Author's note: I'm back and a little sad that there was no question you asked me. Now the publications will resume their usual rhythm.
Pov General,
Thor: "Mjöllnir is a special hammer. If someone tries to lift it and is deemed worthy, it feels as light as a feather. But if they are unworthy, they'll never be able to lift Mjöllnir."
While he was speaking, Dia tried to lift the hammer lying on her chest, which prevented her from breathing.
Thor: "Normally, your chest shouldn't have to bear its weight, but I can adjust it so that it won't crush you, though you still won't be able to lift it."
Dia's muscles were straining as she struggled to lift the hammer, wanting only to move it an inch. Normally, she would use her divine powers to neutralize the hammer's influence, but since this was a friendly match, she couldn't try to destroy it.
She attempted to engrave runes to lighten the weight, but they were not strong enough and shattered under the strain.
Thor: "Even though this fight was brief, it was quite enjoyable, so I'll show you a personal technique. Kirin."
Lightning began to gather, forming a dragon that headed toward Dia.
Dia, on her side, increased her power and aura to try to lift the hammer, which was beginning to frustrate her. At one point, she realized that she could simply reduce the weight of the hammer if it didn't deem her worthy.
The lightning struck as Dia used her power to lessen the weight, which was quickly decreasing.
When the hammer reached the weight of the star Antares, which is 680 times larger than the Sun, its immense weight still remained. But she finally managed to move it, which was enough for her to free herself and dodge the attack, which struck the ground just after she escaped.
A huge cloud of smoke arose as Dia launched her own attack at Thor.
Thor: "I commend you for managing that. Even with the weight reduced, it was still heavy enough to challenge anyone."
Dia: "Scathach-sensei would mock me if I couldn't at least handle that weight. Now that you've had your fun, it's my turn to attack."
She created thousands of spheres that transformed into various weapons, surrounding Thor.
He called his hammer and took a defensive stance.
Blue and red lightning appeared everywhere as the battle reached a level of intensity rarely seen in a duel.
Lightning gathered around Thor's hammer before he launched an area attack, destroying everything within a 250-meter radius.
Dia was severely injured but her body healed faster than that of a member of the House of Phenex.
Dia: "Firework."
Thousands of explosive arrows flew toward Thor, who channeled his lightning to destroy them before they got too close.
Odin, who was watching alongside Hela and Loki, was captivated by the magnificent spectacle that Dia and his son provided.
After this series of explosions, Dia was very tired and decided to give up, realizing that Thor had more energy than she did.
Dia: "I give up. If this were a fight where I could kill you and you'd just recover, I'd push myself to my limit. But here, I wouldn't be able to win without doing my best."
She thought she should have considered this before creating the battlefield. She and Thor decided they'd have another match in the future—a battle without the risk of permanent death, where they could fight without restraint or consequence.
Thor: "This fight was very enjoyable. I'm already looking forward to the next one. Maybe I'll challenge Scathach before we meet again."
Dia: "Knowing her personality, she won't refuse. I hope you win because I'd love to see her face when she loses a fight."
This comment was overheard by Scathach, though no one knew exactly what it meant, but Dia was punished for her remark.
