Chapter 29: When shit hits the fan
It's been about a few days since the 'Fight of Gods', as it was dubbed, had occurred. Ever since then, my teaching days have been cut short and were filled with me preparing for the interview of a lifetime. But my days were filled with planning, scratching those plans, and rewriting those plans as we kept an eye on the HPSC. We were doing our best to keep one step ahead of them at all times.
But it was time-consuming, I haven't had more than a few hours of sleep since the fight. Something about it just screamed at me that this wasn't over yet. And the more I thought about it, the more those memory flashes crossed my mind.
Flashes of AFO in a skull mask, of Bakugo's and Midyoria's Mothers, and now a flying UA. I still don't know if they are memories or something else. Something didn't add up with the flashes. It was as if I was missing something vital about them.
.
I shook my head to clear my thoughts as I looked over the computer screen before me. Lines of code ran across the screen with chaotic letters and symbols. To Programmers and those computer-inclined, they would be hard-pressed to understand it. But it was like I was back in the Bigh MT once again. These lines were for the Robo-scorpions that Dr. Mobius made. But now, with better resources I can and will be upgrading them to what they were truly capable of. They wouldn't be as big, just about the same size as a real scorpion, but they would be far more powerful.
They would act as a surveillance system as well as a repair system. With the ability to climb up walls and ceilings, they could reach the smallest of damaged areas and repair them with ease. They wouldn't be seen with the [stealth-boys] integrated into them. But that wasn't all they were for.
With the big UA Announcement coming up, they would be released into the school's amphitheater and stick themselves to the cameras and other equipment the like. They would copy and then transfer the data they stole into a secure computer that would ensure that no HPSC member got away with sabotaging the Announcement. After all, the HPSC will take quite a blow from this.
As I finished up the code for the Robo-scorpions, I did a little more digging into the HPSC's files. But, as I was looking for anything new, the door to the workshop I was in opened. Looking at the intruder, I was unsurprised to see Nezu standing there with Aizawa by his side. Sighing, I stood up from my workstation and stretched.
.
"So, what's the issue?" I asked since I was busy working.
"While I admire your sense of hard work, we need you for a meeting," Nezu squeaked.
"And you're not gonna like it," Aizawa told me, "Plus we're here to see what you've been working on as you've kept it under wraps."
"Fair enough," I said as I grabbed a tablet and a small box. "Let's go."
.
Nezu just walked away while Aizawa just gave me a weird look. After all, it wasn't every day he'd seen me work on something that's taken me two whole days. Nights included. But I couldn't care less.
Minutes later, the three of us made it to the conference room. As we sat down, or in Nezu's case climbed up into his seat, Aizawa started the meeting. I almost just zoned out like I usually do, but what he said caught my attention.
.
"Thank you all for coming," Aziawa started. "We're here about the new School Dormitory system that we are implementing."
.
Dorms, huh? That's one hell of an idea they were planning.
.
{Sometime Later}
.
"I can't believe you talked me into this," I grumbled.
"Well, due to your current status, keeping you here is for the best," Nezu spoke as the rest of the teachers agreed.
"Anyway, I've been dying to know, hon. What's in the box?" Midnight asked as she pointed to the box that I had carried in.
"It's just something that I've been building to help with the upcoming announcement," I said as I put the box on top of the table. "And afterward, they can be used to help the school."
.
I then picked the tablet up and pressed a few buttons. Soon, the ten Robo-scorpions I had built came crawling out. At first, the teachers were surprised and somewhat scared at the sudden flow of robotic scorpions. Seeing this, I decided to play with them for a second. Pretty soon the Robo-scorpions were doing a little dance and were spinning in circles. I got a few chuckles out of it and they became far more receptive of them.
Nezu asked for their purpose. I told him what the plans for them were and what the secondary and tertiary plans were. Sufficed to say, he was pleased with what he heard. Power Loader was in awe at their technical marvel as he grabbed one and began to inspect it. I did have to warn him that they were still in the prototype stage, though they pretty much were complete.
Midnight asked just how dangerous they were, I told her that they could be used as mini bombs if the coding was correct. She didn't believe me and I did nothing to tell her otherwise. If she didn't believe it, then so be it. They had the power to wield metal together and do other things that people took for granted.
As we finished the meeting, the assembled teachers started trickling out. I just sat there typing away on my tablet as I ordered the mini Robo-scorpions back into the box. Once they were all gathered, I stood to leave, grabbing the box as well. When I stepped out, I was greeted by Dr. Disaster grinning like the madman he was.
.
"What is it, Disaster?" I asked, not really wanting to deal with the mad scientist.
"I heard that you remade the Robo-scorpions of Big Moutain!" He shouted, to which I flicked him in the forehead.
"Keep your voice down, we're inside," I sighed as I began walking away with him following me. "And for your information, I made miniature ones. The size of non-mutated scorpions."
"I see, that makes them truly more terrifying!" He exclaimed to which I sighed. "But they would have to be less powerful due to the size..."
.
He started to mutter and go on a rant so I just tuned him out as he followed me. But by the time I got to my workshop, he had already come up with several ways to increase the power while keeping the size the same. As much as I didn't like the guy, he truly had the mind of a genius. If just a little bit crazed. Though, I can't keep track of what he's saying half the time. Reminds me of Midoriya a little bit.
That thought scared me. Thankfully, Disaster didn't see the opposite sex. I mean, he is homosexual, but the thought of him having a kid did kind of scare me a bit. He'd either be a mad scientist about the kid, or he'd be an overly doting father.
But that made me start to think. Back in the Mojave, I adopted a lot of kids and sponsored an orphanage due to how the war and poverty affected me. So, I understood what fatherhood was like but I never had kids of my own. At least, to my knowledge. I was in my twenties when Doc Mitchell worked on me.
As soon as I started to think about having my own kids, I realized that three students didn't have a father figure in their lives. Well, one I would be embarrassed to have as a kid, damn midget. The other two had a father that they shared but disappeared one day and they haven't seen him ever since. I figured I'd talk to them soon about it. After all, they did live together. Though with how the two interacted, you wouldn't know. They were both on different ends of the extreme.
But that would have to wait, right now I had a mad scientist to deal with.
.
{Three days Later}
.
"You sure I have to do this?" I asked Yagi as we rode in his car, I was stuck wearing a suit and tie instead of my armor.
"Aizawa and the rest are going to other houses," Yagi told me, "You and I would have been heading to the same house as well. So it saves time for the both of us if we just go together."
"But, have you even read their files?" I asked, to which he nodded. "I mean, the two of them are opposites in every way. How can they even stand each other?"
"Life finds a way," He sighed but even I understood that he didn't know either. "But you have to admit, they push each other forward."
"That they do, but even then there's animosity between the two of them." I countered
"That may be true, but how bad could it be?" Yagi said and I just got a premonition.
"Why did you have to say that?" I asked, sighing and grabbing my head.
.
"YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE!"
.
Suddenly my nose got broken not even three seconds after the door to the student's house opened. And I gotta say, the woman behind the door could pack one hell of a punch. Then again, I probably did something to deserve it. But still, it hurt like a bitch. Yagi stood by my side with a surprised expression, he'd never expected this to happen.
Looking at the woman responsible for this, I couldn't help but see a Pomeranian turned human. She was a mature woman in her late thirties with spiky ash-blonde hair and fierce red eyes. She wearing a white blouse underneath a lavender cardigan with a short black skirt.
She was Mitsuki Bakugo, Katuki's mother. And judging from her expression, she knew me and hated my guts. For what reason, I was clueless.
.
"Mitsuki! What's wrong?!" A second voice called out when they heard Mitsuki shout.
"Inko, you're gonna want to see this!" Mitsuki shouted back, her eyes never leaving me.
.
Soon, the three of us heard the soft pounding of feet before another woman appeared in the doorway. She was about as tall and as mature as Mitsuki. With straight and shoulder-length, dark green hair; stylized with a small and spiky ponytail at the back. She had gentle-looking green eyes. She wore a pink long-sleeve v-neck shirt over a white blouse and a blue short skirt.
When she saw me, she started to tear up and rushed towards me. I still had a hand pinching my nose to stop the blood that was dripping. Inko grabbed me and started to sob into my chest. Both Yagi and I were completely caught off guard.
.
"Um, can one of you explain what's going on? Please?" Yagi asked as the two of us were completely baffled.
"Come on in," Mitsuki said as she shot me a glare before walking inside,
"Y-yes, please come in you two," Inko studdered and said before dragging me inside, Yagi followed.
.
Once inside, we were immediately shown to the living room. Inko was still clinging to me like I would disappear any second. Mitsuki just looked at me and growled before walking off to make tea or something. I just sighed and sat down, the same as Yagi, but Inko just continued to cling to me.
Soon, Mitsuki came back in with a tea tray. Though there was one tea cup missing. I mentally sighed at the clear hostility that Mitsuki showed toward me. It probably had to do with the bastard that slept with these two and disappeared after they got pregnant. I most likely looked like him, hence the hostility from one and the clinginess from the other.
This was going to be one long visit.
