Chapter 69
Chapter 69 The Death Forecast!!!
After successfully finishing the photograph, Xiaolu asked Long Xi, “I heard from you that Intoxicating Aroma Village was your hometown, wasn’t it?”
Long Xi replied, “Right, I was born there. It was also the hometown of my grandparents. It was there that my grandma grew up, married with my grandpa, and raised up their children. She was once the best cook in this village. When it was on festivals, she was the chief cook, leading a couple of women to cook for a dozen of tables. Later on, to provide me with advanced education, she gave up her comfortable farmer life of going for work at sunrise and going home at sunset, but sold breakfast in big cities, living together with me in a rented house.”
Mo Kun asked, “Do you like the village very much?”
Long Xi said, “Of course. Every Spring Festival, I, together with my grandma, will come back there to live for a short period. In this course, we will visit relatives and friends and keep good terms with our neighbors. The environment there is congenial, and those villagers are simple, so I like it there very much. My grandma likes there even more because she misses her hometown very much. I’ve speculated her thoughts and imitated her tone to write a Poem to the Tune of Chang Xiang Si, expressing my homesickness.”
Mo Kun said, “May I appreciate it?”
Long Xi cleared her throat and said with a smile, “Now that you ask me to read it out, I just demonstrate it before you literal experts. Please don’t laugh at me. ‘It continued raining, hindering the crow. The sorrow past occurred to my mind in a whirl. My heart lake was covered by the snow. Far behind the prosperous, I come close to the cloud flow. Standing at the edge of the world, along with the west wind, my thoughts go further. What time can I return where I grow?'”
Mo Kun clapped his hands and asked with a smile, “So when would you write a Poem to the Tune of Chang Xiang Si for me?”
Long Xi smiled with a bush and replied, “We meet each other every day. There is no need to miss each other.” (Chang Xiang Si means missing one’s lover in Chinese.)
Mo Kun said with a smile, “I might eat too little so that I have to miss you to feed myself.”
Long Xi rubbed her forehead and said with a smile, “Again!”
Xiaolu saw them showing love in cold light and thought, “It seems that Master Xi prefers to this kind of tricks. I’d better learn some cheesy pick-up lines.”
He searched “cheesy pick-up lines” on his cell and looked through quickly while doing some notetaking.
Long Xi ate pieces of delicious chocolate lava cake and said, “I tell you, Intoxicating Aroma Village took its current name because the villagers here are very good at brewing wine, especially Pear White wine and Osmanthus wine. I learned the technique of brewing wines from my grandmother. However, the village is isolated, and no one outside knows these good wines.”
Mo Kun said, “I remember, didn’t you say you were going to make cherry wine for me?”
Long Xi shrugged and helplessly said, “I have no way. Tackling with too a pile of thins recently, I really have no time on it! Let’s talk about it when we finish all these things at hand. Although there is no cherry wine, there is pear blossom wine. I brewed it all by myself!”
Xiaolu said, “I’d like to drink your cherry wine, too. Let’s have a drink with the moon and don’t sleep until we get drunk!”
Long Xi smiled and said, “Okay. It’s a deal! I will invite all of you then!”
Xiaolu cheerfully shouted.
However, Mo Kun was not restful at seeing this. “Xixi, shouldn’t only you and I drink the wine under the moon and kiss?”
Looking at the Xiaolu’s warm light and Long Xi’s bright smile, Lord Mo Kun suddenly felt uncertain. “In Long Xi’s view, is my position equal to Xiaolu’s?”
Xiaolu drunk a lot of beverage so that he wanted to go to answer nature’s call.
Noticing the door of the toilet was open, he walked straight towards it.
A well-dressed old lady sat beside the bathroom suddenly stood up and said smilingly, “Young man, may I go first since I am busy?”
Xiaolu was a well-educated man, so he said politely, “All right.”
The old lady expressed her gratefulness and strolled into the bathroom.
The old lady was slim. Even her face was heavily wrinkled, her features were delicate. She must be a beauty when she was young, and she was still attractive even now.
Xiaolu just waited outside the door.
Two minutes later, he heard a plaintive screaming from a woman inside the bathroom.
The door opened.
The old lady rushed out and screamed in the old voice, “Help! Help!”
She was tottering and couldn’t stand steadily, so Xiaolu rushed to hold her.
“Blood words! Blood words suddenly appear on the mirror!” she said to Xiaolu in a quavering voice.
Long Xi and others came over after hearing the screaming.
Xiaolu let Long Xi look after the old lady and walked into the bathroom alone.
Twenty red and blood words were shown on the mirror: Yan Wangchuan, you are the last one! Your father is to blame for your wrongdoings. Jiang Dahu, the next one is you!
Mo Kun also walked into the bathroom, looked at the words on the mirror, and exchanged looks with Xiaolu.
At this moment, the train stewardess walked here and saw what had happened, then he informed the train conductor immediately.
Long Xi saw the circumstances inside at the door and asked the old lady, “Madame, did these words appear suddenly?”
The old lady said in a quavering voice, “Yes! There was nothing on it when I entered, but these words appeared suddenly when I was washing my hands. It scared me!”
Long Xi said to Fu Xinjie, “Is Jiang Dahu the father of Jiang Ba? Is this the so-called death forecast?”
Fu Xinjie shook her head and said, “Don’t people believe in laws now? Why not crack down on them by laws?”
Mr. Xu said, “With you ‘pest’ here, who dares to believe?”
Fu Xinjie had nothing to say with her eyes downcast.
Two minutes later, the train conductor, a middle-aged man, also came over.
After asking about the situation, he thought that someone was doing a prank, and let the train stewardess erase the words.
Long Xi asked, “Why not call the police?”
The train conductor kindly explained, “Do you think that the police will manage such a trivial matter? It’s just a prank. We’d better take it easy and don’t scare other passengers.”
Fu Xinjie presented her badge and said, “I’m a policeman from X City. This has something to do with a murder case. Please preserve the scene well.”
The train conductor looked at her badge slightly, changed his face and said, “Now that the police have come to lock the door and hang on the sign reading ‘On Repairing. Do Not Use.'”
Fu Xinjie took photos of those blood words and sent them to her colleagues. In this way, she saved the first-hand evidence of the scene.
Several hours later, they reached the terminal and took a taxi to the bazaar. They hired two oxcarts and climbed over the uneven tortuous paths and finally came to the entrance of the isolated Intoxicating Aroma Village.
Since this place was so remote that there was no light, not to mention cell phone signal.
