The Complete Guide to Rearing an Alien Boyfriend

Chapter 62

Chapter 62 Do You Have a Crush on Me?
Now Long Xi was a little bit convinced that Fan Xiaolu was really trapped in Yan Wangchuan’s body.

For no one could pull that move off without years of training.

“Do you trust me now? Should I give you another one? ‘Cause I haven’t had it enough,” Yan Wangchuan said smilingly.

Long Xi thought for a short while, and said, “Fan Xiaolu is crazy about telling jokes. Tell me one.”

He thought for a moment, tilting his head, and replied with a grin, “One day a teacher was delivering a lesson on writing reviews. She asked Xiaoming, after reading Amazing Home, if he had any thoughts. And Xiaoming replied that he thought he had a headache. Haha, isn’t that hilarious? Hahaha.”

“Exactly. That’s what it is. Fan Xiaolu loves anti-humor. But nobody ever laughs except for Fan Xiaolu himself.” Long Xi said with a facepalm.

“You knew me pretty well, Master Xi. Do you actually have a crush on me?” Yan Wangchuan said laughingly.

“Come on. Get over yourself. And as I recall, Fan Xiaolu never ever beat me in rock-paper-scissors. Let’s do it. Best two out of three,” Long Xi said.

He scratched his head and replied with a bit embarrassment, “I seemed to have won a few games before. I didn’t lose every time.”

“If it was about pure luck, then Xiaolu sometimes did win. But that never happened when I messed up with his head,” Long Xi said with a smirk.

“Alright. Try me.” He put his hands behind his back.

And Long Xi put back her hands as well.

“I’ll go with rock.” She said with a smiling face.

“I won’t fall for that again, smarty pants.” Yan Wangchuan replied smirking.

Quickly as they made their moves, Long Xi chose rock, and he, too, chose rock.

He frowned. Did Long Xi really just do that? He thought that was only bluffing when she told him that she would choose the rock to trick him into choosing paper so that she could use scissors. And that was why he went with rock instead.

“I’m unorthodox. As the old saying goes, all’s fair in war.” Long Xi pinched his cheek with a smile, and he was relieved instantly.

“Can I ever trust you again? And it’s true that cleverness may overreach itself,” he said grinning.

“This time I’ll go with scissors. Do you believe me?” Long Xi said, laughing.

“Fine. Bring it on. Don’t you dare break your word.” Yan Wangchuan slapped his thighs. Long Xi said, “I’ll choose scissors, too.”

For the second time, Long Xi did what she said. Yet Yan Wangchuan went with paper.

He pouted and said in a bit cutesy way, “You actually are true to your word.”

He thought that Long Xi would keep her word in the first game and cheat in the next one. But she didn’t. And he failed anyway.

Long Xi seemed pretty secured of her victory, and said smirking, “Of course I am.”

In the final run, Long Xi chose rock and Yan Wangchuan scissors.

He caved. ” ‘All warfare is based on deception.’ I’m all respect, my queen,” he shouted out and kneeled.

Long Xi helped him on his feet and asked, “What did Fan Xiaolu give to me for this April Fool’s Day?”

Yan Wangchuan thought for a while. He looked puzzled and said, “Did I ever do that? Oh, you meant that frog I put in your drawer?”

No sooner had he finished his sentence than Long Xi began to squeeze his face repeatedly as if she were kneading the dough. She said smilingly with complacency, “Haha, you finally admit it. Previously you said it was somebody else. Come clean and tell me why you did that only to me. Did you have a crush on me and try to win my attention?”

Yan Wangchuan tittered as she squeezed his face and said nothing to retort.

“Now I’m fully convinced that you are Fan Xiaolu himself,” said Long Xi.

“Excellent! You finally are. Between you and me, Yan Wangchuan’s mom is enormously cute. She is a moe girl!”

“I know. I’ve known Yan Wangchuan’s mother since I was little. She has always been that way. She looks like a teen girl and deep down she still is one, despite that she’s full grown,” said Long Xi.

“Right, you were neighbors back then. And she is wonderful to me. She sees me as equals, listens to my ideas, and never treats me like a child. How I wish my real mom could be like her!” said Xiaolu.

“Someone else might wish to be like you as well,” said Long Xi.

“By the way, I used to read time-travel novels where people’s mind might land into someone else’s body. I had never thought it would have been true until it happened to me,” said Xiaolu.

“I prefer consciousness transferring to time-travel. I have seen similar plots in sci-fi novels. But then where is the mind of Yan Wangchuan?” said Long Xi.

“Did we swap our souls? Is he now in my body?” asked Xiaolu.

“Well, perhaps not. Fan Xiaolu in the previous video behaved like a dog. I thought it was due to torture. But now in retrospect, if soul swapping really existed, we would actually have been seeing his body but with a dog’s consciousness. And since you are trapped in Yan Wangchuan’s body and the dog’s in yours, then Yan’s soul could be in a dog.

“Really? Does the earth have that kind of high-tech?” asked Fan Xiaolu.

“Some science literature I read says humans will be able to interchange consciousness shortly,” said Long Xi.

“I think it is rather preposterous,” said Xiaolu.

“That was what people said when Copernicus brought up heliocentrism and Magellan thought the earth is round. But scientific advance proved these two right.” Long Xi said with a straight face.

“Of course, dear. I think you are right,” Xiaolu said, nodding with a smile.

“Truth be told, I believe we are manipulated by a mysterious force. Aliens, maybe. If its technologies were leaps and bounds ahead of us, then it might be capable of swapping souls. And that force could be the same reason for those illusions we saw before. Where is your phone, Fan Xiaolu? It always used your WeChat account to release new messages. Did it take your phone? I failed to trace your phone down with a tracking device I downloaded on the school’s computer. And I don’t know why,” said Long Xi.

“Ding!” The WeChat’s beep sounded.

And gone were their smiles. They then checked their WeChat group messages, exceptionally nervously.
