Chapter 34: Chapter 33 – The Rewrite War
Chapter 33 – The Rewrite War
The world fractured around them as Jihwan and Sohyun faced the Unwritten. Ink and gold clashed, two forces rewriting reality in a battle of wills.
Jihwan moved first. His golden book flared open, pages turning at his command. The words within shimmered, forming a new reality in an instant.
> [Command: Bind the Unwritten.]
Chains of radiant script erupted from the ground, surging toward the Unwritten. But before they could reach him—they dissolved. Unwritten ink devoured the letters, stripping them from existence.
The Unwritten chuckled. "Did you think I'd let you dictate this fight?"
Sohyun reacted next. She tore a page from her book, the ink forming into a curved blade. With a single motion, she slashed at the Unwritten—aiming for the core of his existence.
But the blade never connected.
Instead, the Unwritten's form glitched, shifting out of reach as if the rules of reality didn't apply to him. His body blurred, reshaping itself mid-motion.
"I don't follow your story's logic." His voice was smooth, unbothered. "You follow mine."
Jihwan's mind raced. He wasn't just fighting a person—he was fighting an erasure itself.
Then I won't fight his way.
Jihwan flipped his book open again. If rewriting the world wasn't an option, then—he'd rewrite himself.
> [Command: Override My Own Limitations.]
The golden glow of his book surged, and for a brief moment—Jihwan saw beyond the words on the page. He felt his connection to the world deepen, his existence stretching beyond the confines of his role.
And then—he moved.
Faster than before. Freer than before.
Jihwan's fist connected with the Unwritten's form—and for the first time, something solid resisted.
The Unwritten staggered, surprise flickering in his golden eyes.
Jihwan smirked. "Your rules don't apply to me either."
The battlefield had changed. The real fight had begun.
