"Cassie is being possessed?" Flint repeated Liam's words in disbelief. "Is that even possible?"

Liam tried his best not to laugh at Flint's innocence. "Flint, this is a magical world, different from your world. Everything can happen here. Lots of supernatural phenomena you can't even imagine."

"If this is true, then we have to save Cassie!" Flint's voice was tinged with urgency. He grabbed his hand, pulling him. He would guide Liam to the place where he left Cassie and Scarlet.

"Let go now, Flint. I'm not going anywhere, okay? Just like you, I want to save Cassie." Being held by Flint's hand, Liam felt a little bit weird and awkward that's why he asked Flint to release his hand.

Realizing the awkwardness brought by their entangled hands, Flint immediately released Liam's hand.

"If she's possessed, then how are we going to exercise the one controlling her body?" Flint asked Liam.

"We need a purifier. Let's ask Shino if there is a healer here who can purify a soul."

"Can't you do it by yourself, Liam? You are the guardian leader. You are the most powerful warrior here." Flint was in a hurry.

"My power has limitations, Flint. I can't do everything on my own," Liam explained.

"I understand. Then we should find the healers as soon as possible!"

Without further ado, Liam and Flint searched for Shino, the current leader of the group. After a few minutes, they found him talking with Justine and Eric.

"Shino! We need your help!" Liam called his attention.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Shino approached them.

Liam explained the situation to Shino and others.

"We don't have purifiers. The only purifier is Justine's grandmother, the head healer. However, she is being held captive by the opposing clan," Shino regrettably informed them.

"Where is Cassie right now?" Justine asked Flint worriedly.

"I left her in the forest together with Scarlet, her fire dragon," Flint responded.

"We should capture her as soon as possible before she does something to Cassie's body!" Eric suggested.

"Calm down, guys. It's just my deduction. But I'm not certain if she's possessed. But Flint's vision is so unsettling." Liam wanted the men to calm down. If they were to act recklessly then Cassie might get hurt.

"I guess Eric is right. Since we are not yet certain, capturing Cassie is our best option. If she is being controlled by an enemy, then our mission to rescue our comrades will be compromised." Shino knew the gravity of the situation.

Soon, the five of them agreed to apprehend Cassie without hurting her in the process.

"Here… I mixed a sleeping potion into this drink. Someone must give this to her," Shino handed Flint a bamboo-looking tumbler that contained water.

"If she falls asleep, then we can avoid fighting her," Shino added.

Flint accepted the tumbler with a determined look on his face. After that, the five of them headed to the forest. Liam and others hid their presence while Flint was tasked to make Cassie drink the water with a sleeping potion.

"Why did you come back?" Cassie asked Flint irritably. Because of this guy, Scarlet almost discovered her secret plan.

"I'm here to apologize and this is my peace offering," Flint said, handing the tumbler to Cassie. He was watching her intently, observing her every movement.

'Is she possessed? Or she is just having her period? She is so grumpy tonight?' Flint pondered to himself.

Cassie just stared at the object for a long moment before accepting it. "Thanks for this. I also want to apologize for what I did earlier. I lost control," she admitted.

Behind the bush, Eric and Justine started to converse. "Justine, I think… Cassie seems normal. Are we just overthinking?"

"Shhh! Let's wait. There is one way to find out. Our former guardian leader can figure it out. Just believe in his capability," Justine said, reassuring Eric.

On the opposite side, Shino also talked to Liam as they continued to conceal their presence.

"Are you worried that Mheera has possessed Cassie's body?" Shino asked Liam.

As far as Shino could remember, Mheera also used a forbidden spell namely Soul Possession. She infused her soul inside Tristan's body and used him to kill the demon god's daughter.

"How did Tristan wake up after the soul possession used by Mheera?" Shino was interested in what happened back then. "Soul possession is a forbidden spell and it is very powerful. How did he break it? There was no purifier present at that time."

Hearing Shino's question, Liam couldn't help but cast a meaningful look at Cassie. Then he answered, "It's because of Love… and his strong will to protect Zhen-Zhen and their twins. Tristan sacrificed himself by stabbing his own heart using the divine dagger."

"And you saved Zhen-Zhen too…you got injured by Mheera, but despite that, you helped Zhen-Zhen in treating Tristan with your remaining power… because of that, you were put in a long slumber." Shino put the pieces of the story together.

Liam nodded his head.

"If that is the case then only true love can save Cassie now… if she is possessed. Who is her true love?" Shino blinked his eyes in confusion. He couldn't think of someone who could save Cassie using the power of love.

Liam sighed deeply. "You are right. But… I don't know who can give her true love… I wonder if Flint has what it takes to save her."

"I don't think so. According to Eric and Justine, Flint is in love with Ella. He is about to confess tonight." Shino informed Liam.

Liam was taken aback when he heard that. 'Does it mean… Cassie's life will be put in grave danger. How are we going to save her?' Liam suddenly became anxious and problematic about Cassie's safety.

"I just hope… Cassie is strong enough to break the soul possession spell." Liam uttered. "She is a strong woman, just like her mother."

But little did he know, Cassie lost the will to fight when she discovered the truth about Flint's feelings toward her Aunt Ella. Part of her just wanted to stay in that dark prison cell. She was letting go of Flint now, ready to accept her tragic fate in the hands of the evil witch.
