The CEO's Wife Is A Demon God's Daughter

Chapter 943 943: The Three Borders

Cassie and Flint left the cave and they started their journey going to the Sacred Place. Scarlet, the red fire dragon, transformed into her giant fox form, allowing Cassie and Flint to ride her back.

Flint was positioned at the back. Cassie leaned on his sturdy chest and grabbed his arms, wrapping them around her waist.

Flint was about to complain and removed his hands when Cassie spoke up. "Hold on to me tight. You can't afford to fall down." It was only her alibi so that she could feel his warmth.

Feeling a little bit uncomfortable, Flint had no choice but to obey Cassie. Scarlet was also running at a high speed. But she was careful to avoid the enemies. The opposing faction was still on the hunt for Shino and the healers. They didn't want to be spotted by them and had another encounter.

"How long will it take before we can reach the sacred place?" Flint asked Scarlet. She was the only one who knew the path leading to the sacred place.

"It's far away here. Using teleportation, we can arrive there in five hours. But I can only teleport at the entrance. We have to go deeper… at the center where the source of power was located." Scarlet informed them.

"Are you going to teleport now?" Cassie also asked her so that they could brace themselves.

"Not yet. I need to reach the boundary first. There is a hidden barrier here, preventing me from using teleportation." Scarlet increased her speed, making Flint cling to Cassie more tightly.

Twenty minutes later, the three of them reached the boundary Scarlet was referring to. It was a vast land filled with green fields. It did not take long before she finally used teleportation.

In just a blink of an eye, Cassie, Flint, and Scarlet disappeared from the greenfield.

"We've arrived at the entrance," Scarlet said to them.

The three of them were now facing stone ruins. An old stone arch was built at the center of the stone ruins. This was the entrance to the sacred place.

Cassie extended her right hand and felt the invisible barrier that served as the wall before opening the portal gate.

"What are we going to do to enter?" Cassie asked Scarlet. Flint was silently observing the gate. He couldn't see nor feel the barrier, only Cassie and Scarlet could see it.

"Leave the rest to me, Master Cassie. But for now, I want to warn and remind you both. Once we pass through this gate, there is no turning back. The exit gate is only located at the heart of the sacred land. So in order to return, we must reach the center of the sacred place."

"We understand," Flint promptly responded.

"But going there is not easy. We have to pass three borders. And each border poses a threat and danger. Traps are everywhere. We can even encounter monsters!" Scarlet warned them about this dangerous journey.

"Don't worry. I got your back. I will protect you!" Cassie turned to Flint, reassuring him.

"Thank you. I will try my best not to be a burden," Flint responded with conviction.

"By the way, what are the possible challenges and traps we will be facing at each border?" Flint asked Scarlet to prepare himself.

"After entering this portal gate, we will traverse through the border of Mist. You need to have a strong mind so that you won't lose your way. We have to stick together. And make sure that you won't get separated."

"The fog in the border of mist can create illusions. If you have a weak mind, you might forget your reality and you will be stuck here forever." Scarlet was worried for both Cassie and Flint.

This is not about physical strength and power. There were a variety of traps and challenges at each border. What if both Cassie and Flint fell into the traps and failed to protect themselves?

Scarlet's power has limitations inside that place. She couldn't guarantee that she could protect them both. But one thing was for sure… between Flint and Cassie, she would always prioritize Cassie's safety.

"Both of us are strong-willed. I don't think we will get stuck there. So don't worry too much, Scarlet." Cassie comforted her fire dragon as she could feel her anxiousness.

"So what's the second border?" Cassie asked. They had to know the risk before going there.

"The second one is the dark forest. There are dangerous monsters that we might encounter here."

"And the last one… the valley of the unknown… we are going to face several unknown threats here. We don't know exactly what is coming our way. But we have to stick together to pass every border." Scarlet reiterated her point of sticking together.

Cassie turned to look at Flint. She wanted to make sure that he was ready to face those challenges and dangers.

"It's your decision, Flint. Do you still want to go despite hearing the possible dangers we are going to face at each border?" Cassie asked him.

"You might die!" Scarlet added, threatening him further.

But Flint didn't want to back down. This was the only way he could obtain power. The power he could use to protect someone from powerful enemies.

"Cassie, why don't you just stay here? Let me go there with Scarlet. I don't want you to get hurt because of me." Flint tried to convince her to stay behind.

"Are you crazy? Who will protect you?" Cassie uttered exasperatedly.

"Scarlet is with me. She can protect me." Flint reasoned out.

"No! We already talked about this. Without me, I will not allow you to set foot in that dangerous place!" Cassie was very protective of him. Between them, she has the power to do that. She wouldn't feel at ease just waiting outside the portal gate. She wanted to accompany Flint and made sure that he was safe.

Scarlet could only shake her head helplessly. The two were both stubborn.

"Fine. Let's just stick together. The three of us! No need to argue." Scarlet butted in.

"That's a great idea. Remember! We have to stick together… like this!" Cassie shamelessly pulled Flint's arms once again, wrapping them around her waist.

"Let's move now! Break the barrier and open the portal gate, Scarlet!" Cassie commanded her fire dragon.

"Aye, Master!"
