Nightmares and growing remedies
Luna ends her night doing a mana transfer before going to bed and happily seeing my core light up briefly now that the mana liquifying was successfully done now all the mana can go directly into condensing the mana to eventual crystallization.
My mana absorption efficiency raises to 6% but my mana storage has only increased to 0/39(500), could it be that the mana storage is more related to the undamaged mass of my core?
regardless even the smallest amount of improvement is very much appreciated and worth the efforts of trying to save up the mana for it.
I have Luna eat a little mana grass before she heads off to bed in her new room and she spends a few moments staring at my core before she falls asleep.
Luna seems to be happy when she goes to sleep facing my core but it isn’t long into her sleep that she starts to toss and turn restlessly.
I don’t know what exactly is going wrong with her rest as I don’t recall her having trouble sleeping calmly before but now she is definitely not getting good sleep.
I go through my dungeon plant database to see if there’s anything that can help her sleep comfortably, I find a few common plants that can be used to aid sleep and since they were all one mana each I decided to invest in them once I get the mana to get them started.
I go ahead and prepare patches of soil to grow the lavender, chamomile, and valerian root and I wait for a point of mana to come in before planting the first one, the night is nearly over before I was finally able to plant some lavender and then I would have to wait before I can do anything else.
I thought about the collapsed room again but it seems like it would have to wait until I can get to 10% efficiency on mana absorption and 50 max mana storage, which leaves me wondering how it relates to the my ability to expand myself.
The day begins with Luna cooking the rabbit meat in the skillet that had been kept warm overnight by the fire, the onion and garlic juices having remained trapped inside the skillet with the rabbit meat helped get rid of the gamey smell and flavor that usually accompanies the meat of wild animals.
Luna is telling Rocky and Misty about how certain wildlife that they will be hunting will need to be treated in similar ways to get rid of the odor and help with the flavor of the meat mentioning that although garlic and onion is currently the best they have to treat it, there are several other plants that can reduce the gamey taste and smell.
They choose to eat some fruits before they head out to wash up all the dishes from last night and to refill the pot with water as well as refilling the canteens.
Misty and Rocky carried back the canteens and other dishes whilst Luna carried the pot full of water, which she put onto the fire right away when she returned and she added everything from the skillet into the pot.
She took out the cutting board and made quick work of some carrots and potatoes before scraping them from the board into the pot, then she diced up some leeks and parsley which she also added right away.
With the prep work done she grabs the basket with nuts in it and passes it to Misty and the basket with fruits to Rocky and they head out with the goal of filling them both up.
I manage to get chamomile planted by the time they returned both baskets full and a bunch of new vines to make more baskets later.
Their rabbit stew needed but a little more stirring and some additional herbs before they started eating the hearty meal.
Misty was later left to remove leaves from the vines and start making new baskets while Rocky was sent to gather firewood and Luna went to check the traps for game.
The day passed onwards with very little that I could do aside from absorbing leaves and food scraps, which left me feeling anxious and agitated.
Just seeing how much her younger siblings were stepping up to help out and them patiently learning how to do things and then taking the task over seems to make me feel like I am the only one falling behind in pulling my weight so to speak.
Luna returned with vines and firewood instead of game since none of the traps were lucky enough to catch something for them to eat.
Misty’s new basket was filled with the other vegetables that were being kept with the cookware, and Luna informed her that the next basket would be getting filled with mushrooms tomorrow as she has found several locations with eatable mushrooms, which she would teach them how to identify them.
They added some more water to the pot and some leafy greens before they dispersed to do their own things, Misty takes a nap while Rocky went outside beyond what I could see and Luna came to my core room.
Luna eats more mana grass and follows up with a mana transfer to condense the liquid mana filling my cracks, I glow bright turquoise before returning to my regular luminescent state.
[Mana absorption efficiency at 8%, mana storage is at 0/46(500),]
With more to do in the day Luna heads back out to gather plants that she wants me to absorb and plant, which I embarrassingly must admit to just tilling the soil in preparation for the plants to be planted in once I have the mana to do so and I start with the ones that only cost 1 mana and I put off the rest.
The day started to fly by and before I knew it they had already had dinner and were heading to bed.
Luna of course stopped by my core again and did another mana transfer which brought me back to 10% mana absorption efficiency and 0/49(500) mana storage.
Luna goes to sleep after watching my core for a while and like the two previous nights she tossed and turned repeatedly and she wakes up looking like a mess with her fur tangled and needing more brushing than usual.
I had planted another mana grass in my core room and I had gotten another crop plant started during the night and although I partially realized that I haven’t stuck to my plan of only growing mana grass, I quickly come to terms with it as since I have been getting repaired I have also started getting mana accumulated more quickly as I am not generating mana like I had when I first woke up and added mana grass to my core room.
Even if my mana storage isn’t recovering at the same rate as before it isn’t much of a problem since I haven’t ever gotten it to max out in the first place and I am unlikely to do so anytime soon anyways since I will be putting everything into my core repair and planting processes.
Before I even knew it another day passed and I accumulated enough recovery to retake the collapsed room with my new mana absorption efficiency rate raised to 16% and mana storage raised to 0/62(500).
I can feel the improvements and I can’t wait to start making more improvements around here!
