The Awakened Blader

A month later Kodai's English has improved monumentally. He can now form full sentences but his emotional display is still lacking.

"Bye mom bye dad were leaving for the tournament!" Elizabeth said as she begins to walk out the door with Kodai and her older brother.

"Ah ah ah ya'll aren't leaving without your lunch!" Mom said.

"One for Kodai one for Elizabeth and finally one for Elijah." She said.

"Thanks mom, we're off!" She said.

They begin walking to the tournament which is in town so it's quite a long walk so by the half point Elizabeth's feet begin hurting.

"Uggghhhh I hate walking my feet always feel like they're being ripped in half..." she complains.

Hearing this Kodai crouches and looks back.

"Without a single word she jumps onto his back wrapping her leg and arms around him.

"Hehe finally, took ya long enough." She giggles.

They finally get to the tournament and all of the strongest bladers in town and some from out of town are there but Kodai doesn't imagine any of them beating him.

"Huh I guess there's no strong people here." He shrugs.

"What are you talking about all of my Rivals are here, those guys could challenge world class bladers!" He exclaims.

"We'll nobody here emits anything impressive so sobviously they aren't any good." He retorts.

Elijah begins seething before Elizabeth stops him.

"Calm down to him even the blading gods aren't in his vision." She brags.

"Yeah right he's just slightly talented." He snorts.

They wait in line for the registration and after an hour of waiting matches finally begin and after a couple battles its Kodai's first match.

He is up against some rando so he doesn't have any trouble and just swats him away. In fact both him and Elijah just brush through their opponents.

"I won't have to even try until the semi finals." He brags.

Hours later it's Kodai's turn again but this time his opponent isn't a normal blader.

"Hehe I saw your previous battles, you sure are strong and a defense type so I'm sorry to say it but I have the advantage here, you're fine with losing right? Hahaha!" He rambles on.

"I doubt I'm losing but if you want a lesson on power I'm happy to teach..." Kodai taunted with a straight face.

The ref begins the count down.

Go shoot!

Both beys land in the stadium.

Kodai's bey rests in the center as his opponent circles around.

"My bey Zip Fulgur specializes in speed which means instead of aiming to wittle down your stamina or burst you I aim to knock you out of the stadium!" He exclaimed as he attacked.

Fulgur attacked in the same direction circling around to attack again in an attempt to maximize knockback. That would be incredibly useful had it not been for Kodai's bey barely moving.

"Your defense is truly incredible and the battle may be slow but I WILL win!" He exclaimed.

"Yeaha no..." He responded as his bey tilted.

"Voro send him reeling..." He commanded.

Voro launched fulgur up and it lands on the wall.

"Aha! I'm still-" He attempts to yell but as fulgur lands on the wall it bursts.

"2 - 0 Kodai and Voro win!" The ref exclaims.

"Told ya." Kodai said.

At the same time Elijah was battling too and his enemy wasn't any weaker in fact he was much stronger.

Go shoot!

Both bladers launch and their beys meet in the center with a fearsome clash but it is short lived as the enemy breaks right through Elijah's bey bursting it instantly.

"You were good just the wrong opponent." He comforted.

The ref informs everyone that the finals will be done the next day and everyone leaves.

On the way back they begin talking about Kodai next opponent.

"So he's supposed to be strong?" Kodai asks.

"Yeah he's incredibly strong almost as strong as you maybe stronger." Elijah explained.

"Nah no one is stronger than Kodaiiii..." Elizabeth cut in from Kodai's back.

"Exactly I'm the strongest and nothing will change that fact." Kodai said with a straight face.

"You're not Valt, Free, Shu, or Lui." He said.

"Nah he's better, he honestly might hafta start holdin back or his battles will start getting really boring~" She said.

"But I'm already holdin back." He complained.

They make it back to the house where Elizabeth burst through the door making celebratory sounds.

"What happened dear?" Her mom asked.

"Kodai is crushing the competition like a deity!" She yelled.

"What about your brother?" She asked.

"Oh Elijah lost in the semi finals." She said.

"Oh I'm so sorry about that dear." She comforted.

"It's fine mom I won the last three locals you can't win every battle." He said.

"Kodai can~" Elizabeth said under her breath.

"I don't wanna hear it from you, you don't even play." He retorted.

"Yeah because I prefer to watch Kodai smack the competition!" She exclaimed.

"Waddya got a thing for Im already?" He asked.

"What if I do!?" She asked.

Kodai ignores it all and just talks to their mother.

"Ma'am what is for dinner?" He asked.

"I'm not that old just call me mother in law." She said trying to hide her giggling grin behind her hand.

"Mom ain't that a little soon!?" Elijah yelled.

Elijah angrily storms out of the room and Elizabeth rushes to her tree house.

" so, dinner?" He asked.

"Oh yes uh steak taters and shells and cheese." She explained.

"Are we in need of more meat?" He asked.

"Yes but we gotta wait on steven-" She tried to explain but Kodai cuts her off.

"On it." He leaves the room.

"B-but don't you need a gun..." she says as he leaves the door with nothing in hand.
