The Apocalypse Shelter System

Chapter 27: Chapter 0027: Regret

"Wang Delin!"

When Di Ping saw the person, he was instantly filled with rage. This person was indeed Wang Delin. From the door of the room, he could see a woman bound to a chair beside the bed. The woman was completely naked, her mouth taped shut, her arms tied to the back of the chair, and her legs bound to the chair legs. She was struggling desperately, while two long white legs were exposed from the bed's edge, also bound with ropes. Di Ping's anger erupted like a volcano.

He regretted it—he had never regretted anything this much before. Even when Su Xiao left him, he hadn't regretted the efforts he made for her, but today, he regretted it deeply. The people in this room were the same ones he had let go previously. The man sitting on the couch, fully naked, was Bai Hanlin, along with the small, young man. All of them were present.

At this moment, Di Ping felt like his heart was being tightly gripped, making it difficult for him to breathe. He had never felt such pain. He hadn't expected that in his moment of mercy, he let these people go. But instead of feeling remorse, they had turned into venomous snakes. How could they do this? How could a human act like this? Di Ping's eyes were wide open, as if tears of blood might spill out. His hands clenched tightly, making cracking sounds as if he were about to crush the sword in his grip.

"Di Ge! Ah!"

At that moment, the fat man and others rushed in. They were also stunned when they saw the scene inside.

"Ah!"

Ye Lu, who had followed behind, screamed upon seeing the situation.

"Ah… it's… it's Di… Di... Di brother!"

At this moment, Wang Delin, who had opened the door, saw Di Ping and immediately turned pale with fear, stuttering, "Y-you all deserve to die!"

Di Ping's blood-red eyes fixed on Wang Delin, and then he scanned everyone in the room. Slowly and coldly, he said, each word punctuated: "You all deserve to die!" The others were terrified by the lifeless, bloodshot eyes that Di Ping was glaring at them with. They all shook uncontrollably. They knew how terrifying Di Ping could be, especially now, when he radiated a murderous aura so thick it was almost tangible.

As soon as the words left his mouth, Di Ping moved. His sword swung through the air with a sharp whistle.

"Whoosh!"

The blade sliced through the air, hitting the young, thin man closest to him.

"Poof!"

Blood erupted like a fountain as the young man's head flew off his neck.

"Ah!"

Without pausing, Di Ping took a step to the side, moved in front of the sofa, and swung his sword again. The man standing behind the woman felt a red line form on his neck, and his head immediately slid to the side as blood sprayed from the wound. His body didn't stop moving, though, as Di Ping's sword thrust into the man holding the woman's hands. The blade pierced through his heart, and blood gushed out as the sword was pulled back.

In the blink of an eye, Di Ping had killed three people, faster than lightning. The others didn't even have time to react before two of them had their heads severed and the third was dead with a fatal wound to his heart.

"Ah!"

Screams erupted from the room. Everyone inside was frozen in terror, unable to process what had just happened.

"Ah! Di... No... No... don't kill me!"

At that moment, Bai Hanlin, who had been sitting on the sofa, finally reacted. He shoved the woman in front of him away and fell to his knees before Di Ping, crying and pleading.

"Di brother, please don't kill me! Don't... Please, I'll serve you like a slave!"

Di Ping kicked him away, but Bai Hanlin scrambled to get back to his feet, kneeling and repeatedly banging his head on the floor. He was terrified. In his panic, he seemed to remember something and pointed at Wang Delin, cursing.

"Yes! Yes! It's all Wang Delin's fault! He forced me to do it! I really didn't want to!"

"I was going to let you go, but look at what you've done! I didn't want to kill anyone, but you all pushed me to this!" Di Ping gritted his teeth, his eyes filled with cold fury as he looked at Bai Hanlin, who was still kowtowing and crying. His heart twisted in regret. "I regret it... I regret it deeply. Now, please die!"

"Poof!"

With a swift motion, Di Ping thrust his sword into Bai Hanlin's chest. It pierced through his body and came out from his back. Bai Hanlin looked up at Di Ping with disbelief, blood pouring from his mouth, and then, with a final expression of resentment, he collapsed to the ground.

Di Ping turned to Wang Delin, his sword still dripping with blood.

"Ah!"

Wang Delin screamed and immediately ran back to the room, slamming the door shut behind him. Di Ping gave him a cold glance.

"Di Ge!"

At that moment, the fat man and the others were paralyzed with fear. Ye Lu had fainted, but was caught by Cheng Chao. When they saw Di Ping walking toward the inner room, they called out nervously.

Di Ping glanced at them with his blood-red eyes. The three of them froze as if struck by ice, feeling as though they were staring into the eyes of death itself. His gaze was cold and unfeeling, as if they were mere lifeless objects, and a terrifying killing intent radiated from him.

The three were speechless as they watched Di Ping, who merely glanced at them before turning toward the door. With one kick, he shattered the thick door like it was paper.

"Bang!"

The door splintered, and Di Ping stepped inside without a second glance.

"Ugh!"

The woman tied to the chair saw the door burst open and Di Ping walk in. She began struggling violently, but when she saw his blood-red eyes and the murderous intent in his expression, she froze in fear, unable to make a sound.

"No... Don't come any closer... If you do, I'll kill her!" Wang Delin, now hiding behind the bed, held the woman with a bandaged shoulder tightly, a knife in his other hand, waving it desperately. His face was pale, his voice desperate.

"You deserve to die!" Di Ping's cold voice cut through the air.

"Di Ping! We've never crossed paths before. You do your thing, and I'll do mine! What right do you have to interfere with me?" Wang Delin suddenly seemed to lose his fear and stood up, his voice now steady as he pressed the knife against the woman's neck, using his injured shoulder to hold her tight.

"What right?" Di Ping repeated, seemingly lost in thought. The blood-red in his eyes faded slightly, and the mind clouded by rage cleared.

"Right! What right?" Wang Delin grinned and continued. "You're in Building 1, and I'm in Building 2. You have your women, and I have mine. If you want more, I'll give you a couple more!" Wang Delin, feeling Di Ping was swayed by his words, relaxed and sneered at him. He thought to himself, No matter how strong you are, you're just a kid. Wait until I get a chance to take you down.

"What right?" Di Ping murmured again, seemingly pondering the question.

"How about these two?" Wang Delin grinned. "They're fresh and haven't been used yet. They're yours, Di brother. Let's see how you handle them like a man!" Wang Delin, seeing that Di Ping was still deep in thought and not moving, decided to add fuel to the fire.

"Ah!"

Suddenly, Wang Delin screamed. The woman had grabbed his injured arm, and the pain caused him to scream in agony.

"You filthy bitch, I'll kill you!" Wang Delin, clutching his arm, cursed loudly, stomping on the woman's head to keep her down. He raised the knife to strike her.

"Ugh!"

The woman tied to the chair struggled violently. With a pitiful sound, she watched as the knife descended toward the other woman's chest, but the woman lying on the bed could no longer move, her hair pinned under Wang Delin's foot.

"Whoosh!"

"Poof... Ah!"

Suddenly, a sharp sound filled the air like an arrow cutting through the sky. The next moment, there was a sickening thud as a blade pierced Wang Delin's chest, propelling him into the wall with immense force. His body was pinned, the sword still vibrating as blood poured from the wound. Wang Delin's face was filled with disbelief as he looked at Di Ping, his mouth moving but no sound coming out, blood pouring from it.

"Did you ask me what right I have?" Di Ping stepped forward, looking at Wang Delin without expression, his voice flat but firm. "I have the right because I'm stronger than you, and because I can kill you."

"I… I don't accept this!"

Wang Delin suddenly screamed, spitting a mouthful of blood. His head tilted, and the knife fell from his hand. His eyes stared at Di Ping with infinite resentment until his life faded away.

"Even if you don't accept it, you still die!" Di Ping said coldly, glancing at Wang Delin's lifeless body. He yanked his sword out, and the body slumped to the floor with a dull thud.

"Zii!"

Di Ping walked over to the bed, slashing the ropes that bound the woman's legs. He then moved behind the woman tied to the chair and cut the ropes binding her.

"Get dressed and come out!" he said coldly as he turned to leave, gently closing the door behind him.

"Di Ge!"

The others, worried, approached him, concern evident in their eyes.

"Clean up. Bury them somewhere," Di Ping said, his voice exhausted and filled with weariness. Killing wasn't as satisfying as it seemed. His rage had led him to take lives, but now he felt empty, his emotions in turmoil.

"Got it, Di Ge!" they responded.

"Di Ge, these people deserved to die. Don't feel burdened," Cheng Chao said, looking at Di Ping with concern.

Cheng Chao had been in the army and had seen bloodshed. He understood how Di Ping felt and feared that he might struggle with the aftermath. The first time he had killed, he had thrown up for two days before he recovered, and he hoped Di Ping wouldn't face the same problem.

"I'm fine! Just a little tired. You guys go ahead," Di Ping forced a smile and patted Cheng Chao on the shoulder.
