The Ape From Space

Chapter 15: Earthbound.

(Kron-POV)

So, last night was an interesting affair. After helping Weiss move her luggage to her room, she dismissed me and that was that. I went to the room across the hall from hers which was mine and slept like a baby. I woke up early though, my bags were still full and where I left them on the floor, I decided to have A shower before anything else. After the shower and while drying myself there was A knock on the door. Well now, who else could be up at this time? Opening the door, it was Blake there, looking nervous but resolute.

"What are you doing here? Have you come to k-" I grabbed her arm and pulled her in my room, shutting the door and releasing my grip before readjusting my hold on my towel.

"Why, have you rejoined the White Fang since our last encounter. No? Then you're alright, besides I'm only here for A short while, my job permits it for now. So other than A false scare, are we always going to dance around this." I had waited for her to reply, her face seemed to calm down somewhat.

"Yeah, I remember, just making sure. So, you're with the Schnee girl, you? And in what capacity. And seeing you here, you didn't decide to join beacon too did you." Blake had A frown on her face, trying to gauge my own calm facade. I spoke up again.

"Her father-" I glared at her, but she had already spoken over me.

"Her father?-" she interrupted me, I continued.

"Yes. Daddy dearest has hired me on as her security guard at least until her tenure at Beacon academy begins, then you won't have to see me again, is that alright with you. If you don't mind, I'm getting dressed. I'll see you later maybe" I said, done with the conversation, for now. Blake hadn't liked been sent off like A call girl, if that bemused glare was to go by but she nodded and left, shutting the door behind her.

I could hear whispers outside my room, Blake's and Weiss were discussing something it seemed. The voices had gotten more heated and as I had finished putting on my Saiyan covers minus the armor and the new security uniform that had me looking like an Atlas waiter, I went out to confront them about it.

Walking outside, quickly opening the door which had had Blake turn around while stepping backward, her line of sight now in my and Weiss's direction, While Weiss's voice hitched, the next word forgotten as she took me in, eyes drinking my form from head to toe. Damn she was blushing, baring her teeth like a lioness ready to pounce for the kill, Weiss's eyes darted back and forth between Blake and me while Blake had a raised eyebrow as she took me in. That lip bite had her looking like she'd liked what she sees, eyes also darting to and fro Weiss and me. But enough of this three-way western stalemate. They were arguing about something, and I was curious to know what it was, but before I could even begin to ask my thought process was interrupted by another, familiar blonde bombshell who worked here. Glynda's grunt from the side had all three of us looking her way, she regarded the two girls before her eyes turned to me, the narrowed gaze on me would be a scary sight to see, if I didn't think she was trying hard to intimidate me.

"Miss Belladonna, miss Schnee, I could hear your argument from down the hall and as I'm sure Blake's aware, there are other students who are trying to sleep still. Please refrain from using the hallways as your personal social area and head keep to your indoor voices. Mr. Kron, if you will follow me, the headmaster would like to have A few words with you. Blake, show Weiss around please and make her feel welcome." Glynda turned back to me, waiting for me to follow along. Shrugging at the two girls who were before arguing but now regarding each other as if the other bit the other. Weiss's humph and Blake's hum was all I heard from them when I had begun following the slight-buxom blonde along.

"So, Glynd-" she cut me off, A frown marred upon her face.

"Miss Goodwitch" she said, neutrally.

"Right, miss… so, last I saw you was when I first met Weiss, how have you been. Get into any good fights lately-"

"Enough chatter young man, where here. Up you go. Head to the mess hall afterwords." Glynda moved aside, I walked into the elevator where in Glynda had stepped forward then reached her right hand into the elevator and pushed one of the buttons, quickly pulling her arm back to her and walked on down the way we had come. All well, looks like she definitely doesn't like me ha, I'm not too bothered to be honest. Now let's see what the esteemed fellow-reincarnate Ozpin wants.

The ride in the elevator took three-to-five minutes before the ding signaling it was over had sounded, stepping out into the room I took in the sight of the familiar of the headmaster over at his desk, holding a cup of Joe and going of some notes, he noticed me and beckoned me over with his free hand.

"Ah we meet at last, in person. I've been wanting to speak to you and also give you some stuff as-well. Come, sit." obliging his request, I found my seat and relaxed while Ozpin regarded me, eyes narrowed, watching me.

"First thing, now… here, this is yours to do. Mr. Schnee had seen fit to officially sign you up and secure you a license for security work. If you see down… here, you'll have to sign it on the card. There's also some paperwork that you'll have to sign too. This one… and this one."

"Ozpin, could you spare me a piece of paper, I haven't signed nothing in my life, I'll need to practice, at least A few times. Although a four letter word should be easy to do…uh no, never-mind." He shrugged, sipping his cup. Getting the signature wasn't that hard and then applying it onto the card and two pages that'd needed signing was done in a half and minute of writing. Sliding over the two pages to the man, I took hold of the card with my Saiyan mugshot, where they got that from, I could only guess. The card had a clip and chain connected to it, to allow me to wear it. Done with that I laid back and reclined in the chair, waiting for the man in front to get to what he wants.

"Now that's taken care of, tell me young man. could you consider joining Beacon and using that aggressive nature against the real enemy of humanity. The ever-reproaching Grimm could be used as an outlet instead of people. And believe me, we have seen you kill A few of the White Fang and continuing down that path could end you in a path you do not want to tread." Ozpin must have been waiting for me, for at least a minute I didn't answer him, how could I? The man was pissing me off, and as easy as it be to rip his heart out, which I felt like doing just now… I sighed and got up, charging up a blast right in front of the headmaster.

The blast forming in my hand got bigger and I could see the esteemed headmaster was cautiously formulating a plan, his brow had sweat rolling down and as the charging blast started to eclipse my hand, it suddenly fizzled out of existence.

"Don't waste your breath. I'm here because of money, nothing more. I-"

My scouter was bleeping, indicating the headmaster and showing a power level far exceeding every other being on the planet so far, which almost made me attack him, out of sheer excitement. But I held back. Grunting, I watched the man stand up, A strange glint in his eye, almost predatory.

"That is fair, everyone needs to make a living… your entitled to do your own thing. But be sure, I'll be watching you, young man. Threaten me if you wish, but if you step out of line and threaten anyone else, you'll regret doing so. We are done here. Off you go. " Ozpin finished, barely regarding me anymore and within reach was my new license, grabbing it and heading towards the elevator, The man spoke up once more.

"Kron, you have the chance to be someone better. Use it well, maybe your time here will reflect more favorably on you" huh, the temptation to tell him to fuck off was steadily rising. I'll have to see if Weiss has anything planned and if she doesn't, I'll blast off somewhere and blow some Grimm up. Now where is that girl at. The elevator had stopped taking me back down to the ground floor, I went first to the mess-hall and got me a lot to eat, before wondering around. I caught sight of the heiress in one of the classrooms, she was looking around and Blake was with her. The cat Faunus was the first to notice me. The frown on Blake's face which appeared at the sight of me, dispersed as quickly as it appeared, Weiss noticing her new friend was ignoring her went to look in the direction Blake was gazing over her shoulder, spotting me too.

"Ladies, what's say we go find the arena and have a spar? I'm already bored of this place and need to stretch my legs. Unless you're busy in which case I'll be off and find some Grimm to destroy. What do You's say?" I asked, waiting.

"Blake? You wanted to show me more of Beacon. Do you want to have A spar against me?" Weiss asked, ignoring me, which was funny, almost. Still, I snorted when Weiss asked which brought Weiss's attention back to me. Blake's eyes gazed at me before returning to Weiss.

"Sure. I guess we can go to the arena, miss Goodwitch might be in there though so will have to ask her."

"No problem, Kron you're dismissed for the day, I'll not be needing you for now. Bye" Weiss strode away, outside the empty classroom which I think was used by Mr Port. An lingering Blake gave me one more look before also walking, in A more reserved pace. Before she left however, she turned back around.

"Are you coming?" I guess this was her way of inviting me, or inquiring as to where I was going to do now, I might as well see them fight at least in person.

"Alright, Blake. Thanks for the invite" she nodded before we were off, catching up the clicking heels of the heiress, who was pacing back and forth.

"You lead Blake, I-I have no clue where we're going. Hehe" that awkward laugh of Weiss was kind of cute, of course she stopped quick enough and huffed, when she saw I also was on Blake's tail… so to speak.

It didn't take long before we reached the sparring room, the familiar stadium-like classroom, I jumped upward onto one of the many rings that student would sit in-front of which circled the arena and got myself a seat, intent to watch these two go at it.

The deputy headmistress wasn't around and so it was just the three of us, Blake removed her scroll from her pocket.

"Alright, so we have to synchronize our scrolls to ourselves and the 'H.U.D' monitor up there, there should be a wireless connection you can see on your scroll-connection's menu. Then we can start." Blake walked towards the clueless Weiss, who was fidgeting with her scroll. A few minutes of connecting later, they got into positions and begun their bout.

The two of them engaged, Weiss was quick with her rapier and to utilize her glyph-semblance to either get the upper hand or support her defensibly. Her lunges were often dodged by Blake, whose speed was easily able to mover Blake across the arena. Weiss used her glyph abilities in order to platform towards Blake and attack from above, while Blake used those ribbons on Weiss and her sword and the momentum of the swing in order to quickly counter. They were matched rather closely, but Blake had used the arena to her advantage. The Cat Faunus experience had paved the way to victory on the first fight, which lasted roughly five minutes before Weiss's scroll read her aura in the red. The girls waited for a half an hour before resuming, in which that time I had put meditated.

Their second fight was much more interesting as both of the girls had figured out a little of their opponents fighting style.

"herggh, rarrhhh!-" Weiss had attempted to lunge at Blake, using her ice dust-infused clip she selected on her weapon in order to freeze Blake, but her target was in fact one of Blake's shadow clones that exploded mixed with fire dust. Blake attacked then, using her speed and attempted to fire her dual-mecha-shift guns at Weiss. Weiss used her rapier, selecting which I had assumed was a combination dust for Ice dust and created A block of ice when she thrust-ed towards the ground, which then was used as A shield from Blake's shot's. Blake's weapons shifted into their blade form, and she used them to ski by her hands around the ice block, kicking Weiss out from her hiding spot. It was another seven or so minutes when they were both in the red, aura-wise and they had drawn the match.

"Well, that was a spectacle, next time though how about you two and me have a fight. Watching you girl's skirts flipping around wasn't my idea of a good time" I jokingly said, the two were breathing heavily, their faces red with exertion…

"Next time, will wipe that smug look off your face" Weiss commented haughtily.

"W-we will? have you seen this guy fight?" Blake questioned, having experienced first-hand of my fighting prowess, Weiss smug look somewhat faulted but her smile returned.

"of course, it'll be just a spar Blake. And besides, I think together, we would have a shot of winning" Weiss said much to Blake's chagrin.

"Anyway… I'll show you where the showers are." Blake was already moving, and so was I.

"Weiss, I'm going to head off for today, seeing as you're still learning your way around, you'll be fine. I've got shit to do. Ring me If you want to head into Vale."

"Fine, I'll ring you later if I have too. See you." Weiss gave me a strange look, before she went to catch up with Blake, who was almost out of the room but was looking back.

I went straight to my room, intent about getting out of my security getup and into my Saiyan armor. Walking into my room, immediately I had begun undressing and folding the clothing on top of my bed before heading to the bathroom where I had my armor stashed. Forgoing the armor that didn't have its shoulder pauldron, I went for my other intact armor with the should pauldron and suited up. Once done with that and having made sure my scroll was secured, I attached my scouter back on side of my face and went for the window. Jumping outwards off the balcony and appearing to fall, I changed my Ki and blasted off upwards, heading north-west bound.
