Chapter 11: Sponsor Sam a (11)
"Hiiiiii~ all of you in the DGP audience!" Chirami exclaimed, acting like an energetic child eager to show something to his parents.
"Morning!" he yelled out excitedly.
"It's early morning... pipe down," Sae said, a hint of annoyance in her voice at the game master's exuberance.
"An ideal world awaits whoever becomes the Deseity out of these 5, but there are two core rules: firstly, they must attain the top rank in rating by the end of the final round. However, if the disaster remains unmasked, they would automatically swipe the Deseity crown!" Chirami announced with excitement.
Aaron walked out of his tent with what seemed to be literal bags under his eyes, clearly showing his exhaustion.
"Why do I have to awaken so early in the morning for this shit?" Aaron muttered, his tiredness evident on his face. It was clear that he had stayed up all night.
Something caught Ace's attention—the fact that Aaron's watch looked different from before, and he could faintly see something glowing from inside Aaron's tent, though he couldn't make out its shape.
"I wonder who it is," Chirami continued his monologue, completely ignoring Aaron's presence.
Keiwa suddenly received a call from his sister, who mentioned something about fruits expiring at sunset.
"Fruits that expire at sunset... I may not be a genius, but something tells me the next mission will have something to do with fruits," Aaron said, looking like he had seen better days. The exhaustion was clearly taking a toll on him.
"What makes you think that?" Neon asked curiously, but before Aaron could answer, the phone in the office rang, and Chirami eagerly went to answer it, behaving like a schoolgirl in love.
Aaron simply looked at him and waited.
"We have an emergency," Chirami announced, suddenly becoming serious.
POV change.
"How the fuck did nobody notice that those things behind the wheel were not people?" Aaron exclaimed as he saw the Jamato parking the cars and unloading a bunch of boxes from them.
Without consulting his teammates, he immediately attacked the Jamato and used the monster buckle to push them into Narnia, as he put it.
While punching them, he realized something—they were incredibly weak. As the box fell to the ground, its contents spilled out, and Aaron noticed a pineapple among them. On a whim, he attacked the pineapple.
An explosion ensued, and as the smoke cleared, he noticed a red wire amidst the wreckage, but he dismissed it for now, focusing on his teammates.
"Call it," he said with a smile on his face.
POV change.
"This was delivered to management," Tsumuri said, showing a letter written in the Jamato language.
"These are Jamato words, right?" Keiwa asked, a questioning look on his face.
"Correct. And here is the translation," Tsumuri replied, as a screen appeared in the air, displaying the translation.
"We're planting time bombs in your world. Defuse them by sunset, or the lives of the hostages will be forfeit forever."
"Jamato can write now, neat," Aaron commented nonchalantly before looking at Keiwa and saying, "Wait, didn't your sister receive some kind of fruit that expires by sunset?"
Realization dawned on Keiwa's face as Aaron's words sunk in, and he rushed back to his home.
Time skip.
Keiwa rushed towards his house, with everyone else following closely behind, except for Tsumuri.
"Keiwa? I can't get this off," Keiwa's sister said, entangled in some sort of vine from a pineapple. The vines were blue and red, and Aaron, observing the situation, seemed to be deep in thought.
"Eeh!? W-why's Ace-sama and Neon-chan here!?" Keiwa's sister asked, clearly confused and surprised.
"Sorry about the mess!" Keiwa's sister exclaimed.
"This isn't the time..." Keiwa replied, trying to remove his sister from her restraints.
"Wait," Ace interjected suddenly. "Be careful. It's a bomb," he warned Keiwa, reminding him that the pineapple was indeed a bomb.
"Right," Sae said, remembering that these objects were dangerous explosives.
"We've got two wires. Cutting the wrong one will probably set it off," Ace remarked, assessing the situation. Keiwa's sister appeared shocked and terrified, realizing the gravity of the situation she was stuck in.
"Red and blue... which one is it...?" Keiwa pondered, staring at the wires, trying to determine which one to cut. Neon had gone outside to answer a call, and Sae followed her.
POV change.
"Mind handing me that ID Core?" a lady asked an old man, requesting an ID Core from him. She then took out some sort of jelly beans from her pocket and swallowed them.
"Oh? How rare it is to see you, sponsor-sama," the old man responded upon noticing her presence.
She walked toward Michinaga and patiently waited for him to open his eyes.
