Chapter 16 Ancestral Train
September 1st, King's Cross Station, London, England.
Harry Potter, wearing a new white dress, looked down at the ticket in her hand:
"London to Hogwarts, one-way ticket."
"Platform nine and three-quarters."
She looked up at the sign on the pillar. There was platform 9 and platform 10, but there was no platform 9 and three-quarters.
Harley's big eyes were full of confusion. She raised her head and looked at her aunt Petunia, and found that her expression was even more confused than hers.
Of course, Harry has been to Diagon Alley after all, but Aunt Petunia is different. She knows nothing about the magical world. Moreover, the Dursleys have always been against magic. If it were not for the worry of letting Harry come to the station alone, Aunt Petunia would not come here at all.
Penny looked around and couldn't help but ask in a low voice:
"Are you sure this is here?"
"That's what it says on the ticket."
Harry whispered: "Hagrid must have forgotten to tell me something that I must do. For example, I have to knock the third brick on the left to enter Diagon Alley. Maybe I should knock it on the wall with my wand? But I I don’t know which brick it is…”
Penny imagined it for a moment and said with an unnatural expression:
"That looks kind of stupid."
Harley blushed slightly, she felt the same way.
"Harley."
At this moment, Harley suddenly heard a familiar voice.
She turned her head and was a little surprised to see Ash standing not far away, with the same gentle smile on his face.
He was accompanied by a fat woman and four red-haired boys.
"Ash." Harley smiled happily and waved to Ash.
There was a trace of doubt in Penny's eyes:
"You know him?"
Harley explained in a low voice:
"His name is Ash Black, and he is also a new student at Hogwarts."
She added:
"he is my friend."
"That's it."
Realizing that Ash might be a future wizard, Penny suddenly felt strong discomfort and asked with a trembling voice:
"Harry, can you be alone?"
Harley smiled sweetly and said:
"No problem, aunt."
"Sorry." Penny whispered, she turned and left the platform, covered her mouth and ran towards the bathroom.
She hated magic, even though she had longed for it.
Ash walked up to Harley, looked at Penny in the distance, and asked politely:
"Is that your relative?"
"It's my aunt." Harley explained: "She's feeling a little unwell."
As she spoke, she saw a few people behind Ash and whispered in Ash's ear:
"Is that lady your mother?"
Ash smiled and introduced:
"This is Mrs. Weasley and her children. I've been staying with the Weasleys this summer."
"Eh?" Harley was a little confused. Why did she want to stay at other people's homes during the summer vacation?
Before she could think about it, Mrs. Weasley came to them with a kind and friendly smile:
"Ash, is this your friend?"
"Yes, Mrs. Weasley."
Ash nodded slightly and briefly introduced:
"This is Harry, a new student at Hogwarts like me."
He didn't introduce his last name, which made Harry feel a lot more relaxed.
The little girl said somewhat cautiously:
"Nice to meet you, Mrs. Weasley."
"Don't be nervous, honey."
Mrs. Weasley smiled kindly back, then looked at her children and said:
"Okay, kids, it's time for you to go."
"Percy, you go first and show Ron how to do it."
"I know how to get there." Ron muttered quietly, "I'm not a Muggle, you should tell them!"
Harley felt that he was probably talking about herself, and she really didn't know how to go about it.
Harry looked at Percy curiously, wanting to know how they got to platform nine and three-quarters.
Then she saw Percy pushing a trolley full of salutes and trotting towards the luggage pillars on platforms nine and ten.
Just when she thought Percy was going to hit the wall, he walked right through and disappeared into the pillar!
Then the second, then the third, Fred and George also pushed the cart towards the pillar.
The pillars were intact, but the people disappeared out of thin air...
"Ron," Mrs. Weasley called.
"I know how to go!"
Ron muttered quietly, rushed towards the pillar and disappeared.
"Follow me, Harley." Ash warned the girl in her ear, and then rushed towards the pillar.
With the demonstrations of the first five people, Harley was no longer nervous at this time and followed Ash towards the pillar.
Harley felt like she had entered a tunnel. When she came out, her vision suddenly became brighter.
A bright red steam locomotive was parked on a crowded platform, waiting for departure. A sign in the middle of the front clearly read 'Hogwarts Express 5972'.
Harley looked at everything in front of her, her eyes full of surprise and excitement.
The white mist emitted by the steam locomotive, wizards talking and laughing loudly on the platform, cats of various colors playing with each other on the platform, or squatting obediently next to their owners, owls making piercing screams one after another, the surrounding people Everything was so new to Harley.
Until she saw Ash's expression didn't seem very happy.
"What happened?" Harley asked concerned.
"No, I just remembered something."
Ash sighed, a hundred years, a whole hundred years!
In the past hundred years, the Ministry of Magic has not even been willing to change the color of the train!
He really made me cry to death.
Harley didn't know why, but she didn't rush to ask. She just followed Ash onto the train obediently and found an empty compartment.
"Thank you." Harley blushed slightly and said to Ash who helped her put the suitcase on the luggage rack.
Ash returned the smile gently, a male Veela needs to always know how to use his advantage.
Harley stood up and closed the box door, sat down next to Ash, and asked softly:
"Ash, why did you sigh just now? Is there something bothering you?"
"Well, it's not really a worry."
Ash explained and asked:
"Do you know how long this railroad has been running? You can take a guess."
"Fifty years?"
Harley tilted her little head, her long brown hair hanging down her face, looking very cute.
Ash shook his head and corrected:
"That's exactly one hundred and sixty-one years!"
“In 1829, the then Minister of Magic, Otalian Gamble, first decided to use the Hogwarts Express as a means of transportation for young wizards to and from Hogwarts. This large-scale project took a year and involved 167 The Forgetting Curse and the largest concealment spell in British history were finally officially opened to traffic in 1830 and have been in operation for more than 160 years!"
"So, you know what this means? Harley."
Harley didn't answer, she just opened her mouth in surprise, but the girl already had the answer in her heart - one hundred and sixty years of use history means that this train definitely has a huge safety hazard, and it might be running During the process, it suddenly turned over or even disintegrated!
At this moment, Harley began to doubt for the first time whether she had made the right decision to go to Hogwarts, because this school seemed not as reliable as she imagined in some aspects...
