The Alpha's Pretentious Mate (BL)

Chapter 4: Like his possession

Silas stepped out of Lucca's black car, adjusting the strap of his college bag. Before he could secure it properly on his shoulder, Lucca snatched it away.

"We're outside the college," Lucca stated flatly, tossing the bag into the backseat without a second thought.

Silas scowled. "Be gentle with my things."

Lucca smirked, shutting the car door with a quiet click. "Oh, I'm always gentle with you," he teased, turning his gaze toward Silas. He noticed the omega's bowtie was slightly askew, so he reached out and straightened it, his fingers lingering for just a moment longer than necessary.

Silas stiffened under his touch but didn't pull away.

"You were born with golden hair, or did you dye it?" Lucca asked, tilting his head slightly as he examined Silas's soft, shimmering locks under the evening light.

"I don't want to tell you," Silas replied curtly. He almost hoped such dismissive answers would irritate Lucca enough to make him lose interest. Maybe then he'd be left alone.

Lucca simply chuckled. "Suit yourself."

Before Silas could say anything, the chauffeur approached from the front. "Good evening, sir," he greeted, taking the car keys from Lucca with a slight bow.

Lucca nodded in acknowledgment and walked toward the entrance with Silas at his side.

Silas tugged at the collar of his suit jacket, his brows drawing together in irritation. "Was it really necessary to make me wear something this expensive? I'm not paying you back for it. You can keep the suit once this party is over," he grumbled, eyeing Lucca, who had his hands casually tucked into the pockets of his tailored trousers.

"Stay quiet, Silas," Lucca warned, his voice carrying a hint of amusement. "Or I might have to shut your mouth in another way."

Silas shot him a side glance. "What, by killing me?"

At that, Lucca abruptly stopped walking.

Silas inwardly smirked. 'He's mad now. He'll probably tell me to leave for good.'

But when Lucca turned to face him, his expression wasn't one of anger. Instead, something dark flickered in his eyes as he stepped closer, closing the distance between them.

"I will kiss you," he murmured, voice dangerously low, "and I won't stop until I'm satisfied." His intense gaze locked onto Silas's, drinking in every slight shift of expression. "You look so innocent, but the moment you open that sharp little mouth of yours…" He trailed off, watching with amusement as Silas quickly averted his gaze.

Lucca leaned in slightly. "Shall we go?" He then smirked. "And remember, you'll act on my terms at this party. If you don't…" His voice dropped an octave. "Be ready for a punishment later."

Silas clenched his jaw, resisting the urge to roll his eyes. 'What does he think of himself?' He scoffed inwardly but followed Lucca inside nonetheless.

The moment they stepped into the party zone, a wave of music and chatter engulfed them. The place was alive with energy—pulsing neon lights, the rhythmic thump of bass-heavy music, and the shimmering reflections of the pool at the center of it all. The scent of alcohol and expensive cologne mingled in the air.

Silas instinctively halted near the entrance, surveying the scene with mild discomfort.

"Lucca!" A familiar voice called out.

Felix strolled over with a lazy grin. He tapped Lucca's chest playfully. "Took you long enough, man." His sharp eyes flickered to Silas, and his smirk widened. "You brought an omega?"

Silas tensed slightly. There was something about Felix's gaze that unsettled him.

Lucca's expression darkened instantly. "Keep your eyes off him," he warned with a lethal edge in his tone.

Felix raised his hands in mock surrender. "Relax. It's not like you've marked him yet," he muttered, his gaze drifting back to Silas. "Didn't realize he had golden hair. He actually looks pretty nice tonight."

Before Felix could say anything more, Lucca's hand shot out, gripping his jaw and forcing his face away from Silas.

"I told you," Lucca said, "not to look at him like that."

His usually cool gray eyes gleamed red, a clear sign of his rising anger.

Felix chuckled nervously, though there was a flicker of unease in his expression. "Alright, alright. No need to get all possessive."

Lucca released him with a sharp push, his gaze lingering on Felix for a second longer before turning back to Silas. Without another word, he walked further into the party, leaving Silas to follow in his wake.

Silas exhaled quietly, his mind racing. 'He's seriously treating me like his possession now, isn't he? And what's his way of treating his own friends? I can't believe he's acting like such a jerk.'

Lucca moved forward while Silas remained rooted on his place. He was feeling weird smelling those Alpha pheromones. He did take pills earlier in case he would not lose it, but still in the place of so many alphas, he needed to be extra careful.

Lucca turned slightly, his sharp gaze settling on Silas. He arched a brow, his expression silently questioning why Silas was keeping such a noticeable distance between them.

Understanding the unspoken command, Silas quickly closed the gap, but the moment he reached Lucca's side, a strong arm draped over his shoulders.

His breath hitched as Lucca's scent—rich pheromones laced with the distinct notes of expensive cologne—wrapped around him, making his pulse stutter. He swallowed hard, suppressing any reaction that might earn him another warning.

"Listen, everyone," he called out.

The music gradually dimmed, and the chatter around them ceased as every pair of eyes turned their way. Silas stiffened slightly under the sudden attention, but he remained silent.

"This party was organized for an important announcement," Lucca continued, his voice unwavering. "I have found my mate."

A ripple of murmurs swept through the crowd, some filled with shock, others with curiosity.

Lucca's grip on Silas tightened possessively. "Whoever dares to harm him will face my wrath." His gaze swept over the crowd, daring anyone to challenge his words.

"Is this omega your mate?" An alpha voiced out.

"Yes. Silas Westwood is my mate," Lucca pronounced.

Silas looked at him with bewilderment. 'Why does he have to announce this in a party? Something is terribly wrong,' he thought.
