Chapter 24: Uncomfortable And Wonderful Moments.
Ciara ignored all of Alex's questions and interference for the remaining days-Soon it was the coronation day.
She was relieved. After the balcony incident she had thought he would show up on her door but he didn't. At least it made her calm for few days.
The night was going to be long and so was Zayn. She hadn't laid eyes on him after that day in her study room. She missed him, everything about him…and she couldn't think straight anymore. It was as if he was avoiding her.
She was the one doing it before but now? Maybe he didn't want to even see her at all…Even things he needed to say to her were delivered by Lucy or the captain of the guards.
This night however, they had to see, meet, talk.
She wore a cream colored dress that touched the floor. It hugged her body and her curves, her back exposed. It had no sleeves but had a zip from the waist down.
An exotic and exclusive dress.
Her face was powdered with light makeup, eyeliners, and a nude lipstick that glittered.
Her black raven hair was tied up in a tight bun and jewelries adorned on it. Her ears pierced with a tiny piece of shiny blue diamond and her simple necklace that complimented her earrings, the necklace rested on her firm cleavages. She was so beautiful that night.
She turned to the standing mirror as the maids stepped three paces back. Seeing her reflection she smiled.
She looked the way she wanted.
Simple.
Royale.
Classic.
She was going to show those old bastards of Elders that she knew how to throw a party.
"Good job, ladies."
The hall was decorated with cream color and blue. Cream color for Ciara's Pack and blue for DryArth's Pack.
Walking in, she noticed everyone seemed to enjoy the nice air and music that flexed in their midst. Ciara smiled softly at how the place was lively.
The human invitees came over and gave their gifts and greetings. Ciara instructed Lucy to handle them, she didn't want human scents on her that evening. She was still finding it hard to believe that some humans knew about them and the audacity to come. Well she knew the world had revolved, Alex wouldn't shut up about it.
Her eyes watched the human folk as they stood together with Lucy, discussing about things that made no sense to her.
Sighs….
It was time…..
With her silver heels, she walked confidently to the throne where two wolves laid beside-
Once she sat down, she could see everyone..
Her eyes first sighted the elders of her court. They stood together, drinks in their hands as they murmured amongst each other.
A smug smile came on her lips,
Take this, bastards!
Then to Stephon who stood behind his wife, Ciara almost laughed. His face when their eyes met was iconic, she could hear his heart beat in the noisy atmosphere. Zayn really got to him.
She also noticed Alex's friends - They looked good, to her taste. It looked as if the werewolf culture was rubbing off them.
Anna was on a dark peach dress while Bella was on a dark green dress…Alex wasn't with them.
Slowly, Ciara's eyes found him.
Zayn.
She smiled finally.
He was wearing…. Her eyes ran through his clothing.
She smiled again.
It was as though they planned it, he wore a cream tuxedo suit.
Damn.
He looked like a werewolf prince who came from heaven.
She realized that moment. Zayn, no matter the darkness that he hid, the darkness that lived in him. He was still her angel.
The wolves at her two sides stood, they growled very loud, so loud that everyone turned. The music too stopped.
It was moonrise.
The full moon.
The large twin doors opened with a loud sound, Ciara remained unfazed as he walked in.
Leonardo walked in.
Eyes widened…
Including Ciara who only frowned.
His hair was styled neatly, it enhanced his looks and brought out those features Ciara screamed her eyes not to notice.
But that wasn't what everyone feared-
It was his attire.
His suit.
Whatever the fuck he decided to wear.
Leonardo was putting on a cream suit too..
People's faces paled.
The party hadn't even started and yet the air was thick and brewing with dark aura.
The Alpha didn't find this funny apparently.
Surely everyone knew there was a meaning behind his code of dressing that night.
Everyone knew that Ciara and Zayn normally wore matching clothes, no one questioned it, especially when he was her general. But for Leonardo, he was just being coronated that night and yet he seemed tone attracting problems.
Couldn't he wait?
The humans always avoided any crises that involved multiple supernatural beings. This was supposed to be a peaceful thing…
Zayn was stoic as usual but he knew something was up, especially as Ciara frowned and halted at Leonardo. Truthfully…. Leonardo wouldn't be able to drag a reaction out of him.
Leonardo ignored all the murmurs and stares as he slowly approached the throne.
This was literally fucked up-
"Why does this seem bad?" Anna whispers to her friend.
"I don't know but it doesn't seem right that two men wear the same color as the Alpha." Bella clicked her tongue.
"And where is Alex?" Bella turned to face Anna.
Anna sighed and looked at the doors that were close to where they stood.
"She's going to be late. I think something happened to her dress."
"Her dress?" Bella brows furrowed.
"Yeah. They didn't get the appropriate size, I think."
"Damn. She going to be pissed." Bella murmured as her attention went back to the show that was already unfolding.
"Is there a meaningful explanation to the stunt you have just pulled?" Ciara stood eloquently and asked, peering down at him.
Taking some steps closer she asked again,
"Or did something happen to your rightful attire?"
"Not at all, Alpha." He answered but Ciara noticed his eyes tracing her body..
Her cheeks reddened.
The audacity!!
"Then why are you putting on the same color as I am?" Ciara asked again.
The musical instruments started again, forcing people to remove their gazes from the two who looked fumed. Well, one because Leonardo looked as if he was having fun.
Leo sighed at her arched brow and frowning face.
"I'm sorry if I upset your lordship with my attire, but I was motivated by our werewolf long crowning history."
Ciara for a second looked lost but replaced it with a bored expression.
"Long crowning history?"
"Yes, Alpha." Leonardo replied before he continued, "The man to be crowned has to share the same attire with the Alpha to show his loyalty to him."
Ciara's eyes went to the Elders of her court, of course they were listening even though she practically shut them out by asking the music to continue.
She sighed, she remembered his reference but it was a long time ago.
"It was a long time ago. The eleventh Century and above wouldn't argue with you but now is different."
"It wasn't band. It wasn't just used."
Ciara have a half smile.
"I can still punish you." She stated and looked at the people in the party.
They seemed unaware of the brewing tension but she knew better. Most of them wanted to hear and use it to make headlines in the werewolves forum.
"That crowning process hasn't been used and if you wanted to try it out…I should've known. I should've been aware. But you chose to use the element of surprise this night, confusing our guests and indirectly annoying me. Besides you could betray me even after wearing the same face with me." Ciara paused before looking at Leonardo again.
"Did I forget to mention that I hate surprises?…"
The idiot was smiling..
No-
He was smirking.
What was funny?
What the fuck was amusing the bastard?!
She got frustrated and her frown increased.
"And what's so funny, Alpha Leo?"
Leonardo smiled slowly.
Lethal, Ciara.
"I accept your claims Alpha. But-" he paused and looked toward the musical team..
One look and the music died down leaving the crowd confused again.
Everyone knew something was really up now. Their ears opened to get the full gist..
Was there a past meeting between the two?
Why was hatred oozing so loud.
Leo turned to the crowd, he craved the attention and he found who was looking for.. he smirked again and pointed at Zayn.
Then turned his gaze slowly to Ciara,
"Him."
Ciara looked at Zayn's direction and back at Leo, what the fuck was he thinking??
"What?" Her voice asked with displeasure and anger at an octave.
....,,,,,,,....
"I thought you said you were not going?" Pete asked as he crossed his long legs on Roshan's bed.
Roshan sighed and turned to his mirror.
His full black hair made to rest back with some stubborn strands standing out making him look ethereal.
"It's the least I can do. I'm trying to make Ciara believe me, you know."
Pete rolled his eyes, "Yeah whatever you say."
Roshan slightly turned to him with a brow up,
"Remind me why you're here again?"
Pete looked at his friend and laughed,
"You forget too easily, Roshan. I came here to support you."
"Did you?" Roshan turned fully and frowned at his irresponsible friend.
When was the bastard going to change?
He had been this same way since the beginning of time.
"I only remember some werewolf girls coming in and out of your room for the past time we've been guests. Couldn't put it in your pants till we went home."
Pete smiled and clicked his tongue.
"You kept me in here, remember?"
"Because your sister and her friend are here!"
"Wouldn't make a difference if we all saw each other, Roshan. We could make it a reunion."
"Stick it down your guts. I'm not here to play normal human." Roshan spat back as he headed to the door.
Pete laughed and sighed.
"Have a nice night, brother!"
Roshan titled his head to the idiot,
"No crazy tantrums, fool. Got it?"
Pete gave a salute with a coy smile, "Whatever you say sir."
Roshan rolled his eyes and left.
Walking down the quiet halls, he let his thoughts drive him.
Finding out who the culprit was was one thing. The other was to know why and how to end it.
He has been away for too long.
His disappearance had caused a lot of casualties and he was even ashamed of coming out and saying the words that hunted him all of his life.
Who he was.
What had kept him.
Why he hadn't made a choice.
Why he couldn't still make a choice.
The only thing he needed right now was the quietness of the world. The noise could come later when he was ready and when he could finally remember.
For now….?
He craved peace.
But not with her around…
Her.
Alexandre….
She broke the walls.
She made the noise.
The screamed in the silence.
She sang in the noise.
She made him want.
Need.
Remember.
And he hated it.
He wanted to hate her for it but he couldn't.
He only knew one thing,
She was going to be everything he wanted and did not want.
Everything he escaped and everything he ran to for comfort.
She….was…..
She was his.
No denial.
He didn't have a choice.
Neither did she.
They will repeat the cycle again and again till one of them gives up.
Sighs..
If only… if he could just remember.
She'd be doomed.
All control over him will be gone.
He'd be free.
He'd have a choice.
…..
