Chapter 2: the adventures of peter N paul
Chapter 2
THE ESCAPE PLAN
The Starnet City Stadium is filled with the team's players, coaches, and other team executives. The junior team has their opening match at 3 PM, but their training starts at 9 AM, so the coach, Philips Barley, is addressing the team.
"Where is Peterson Anderson?" Coach Philips asked.
"He said he won't be available, sir," Jack answered.
"Why?" asked Coach Philips.
"I don't know. Maybe he will come; who knows? He said he won't be available for the training, but he will come for the match," Jack answered.
"Then how will he assimilate our game plays and tactics?" Coach Philips asked.
"Maybe we can quickly brief him before the game starts," said Benny, Peter's teammate.
"I hope he comes because we have no better striker than him," Coach Philips said.
"I hope so," Jack added.
Well, Peter has said that he would escape the camping site and come for the match.
Meanwhile... On the other hand, the family of the twins is setting up for their first day at the camping ground. Paul had gone looking for firewood for the night while Bruno wandered away hunting for rabbits. Immediately, he began to bark. He barked until Peter came up. "What's the problem, Bruno?" he asked. Bruno kept barking with his nose pointed in one direction. The leaves were shaking, and Peter was certain that there must be a forest animal about. He went into the camp to get a heavy stick in one hand and a heavy stone in the other. The leaves kept shaking until the figure came out, and Peter threw the stone in that direction. It missed the figure narrowly, and Peter was shocked to see Paul as the figure. He had just come back from fetching firewood in the bushes. He was surprised to see Peter holding a stick and throwing a stone at him.
"What was that for?" Paul asked.
"Sorry, I thought you were a forest animal," Peter answered.
"Tell me, do I look like a forest animal?" asked Paul.
"Almost," chuckled Peter.
They moved into the tent where Mr. Jamie was setting up the contents of the camp. Then he said, "Okay, people. Let's get our first nap of the camp. Drift to sleep, everyone."
"Finally," heaved Peter.
It was almost noon, and Peter knew that he must embark on his journey to the city Stadium. A few minutes later...
Everyone fell asleep except Peter. At this point, Peter knew that it was now or never, so he zipped open the tent door slowly and quietly. Then he slipped into the woods. Somehow, he found himself in the woods. He wasn't quite terrified because it was noon; the sun was smiling at him, so he pressed on. He looked for the pathway that led to the main road.
"I'll get a taxi cab that will take me to the City Stadium. I think I have some money," he said to himself.
With this thought, he began his journey, leaving the camp. Within 13 minutes of looking for the pathway to the main road, he had moments of horror. Sometimes, it felt like he heard his name behind him, and when he turned, he would see no one but bushes and trees everywhere. Suddenly, he heard the sound of cars and trailers, and then he knew he was on the right track. He got to the main road and stopped a taxi cab.
"I'm headed for the Starnet City Stadium," he told the taxi driver.
"That will cost you five bucks," replied the taxi driver.
Peter got in, and then the cab zoomed off, headed for the Starnet City Stadium.
*The Stadium Awaits*
Meanwhile, at the Stadium...
The team gathered, preparing for the match. "I do hope that Peter does not show up," said Robert, one of Peter's teammates.
"Yeah, me too," agreed Patrick.
Their coach stepped in. "Robert, if Peter does not show up, you will play his position," he said.
Robert was very happy about this, so he began his training. The time for the match approached gradually, and then eventually, Peter showed up. Robert's face was downcast when he saw Peter and was certain that the coach would prefer Peter over him for the position. Well, it happened.
*The Search Begins*
Later, at the campground...
The rest of the family was woken up at the sound of Bruno's barks. He barked louder until each and every one of them woke up. He was barking because the tent door had been opened, thinking that an intruder must have stepped in. Mr. Jamie understood at once.
"Look around, everyone. Anything missing?" he questioned.
"No, nothing is missing, I guess," replied Mrs. Lydia.
"Peter's missing!" exclaimed Paul immediately.
Truly, they all looked at Peter's spot but could not find the young man. Mr. Jamie exclaimed at once, "Spread out, everyone. Look for him!!!" But Mrs. Lydia hesitated, "Come on. He is not a little kid. Maybe he just went to take some air. He will return soon. Let's wait." But Mr. Jamie argued, "The woods are not a place where a boy should take some air without the permission of his family. Nevertheless, they were forced to stay back, thinking that Peter would return soon, so they sat down, waiting for his arrival.
