Chapter 56: The Winged-Humans (17) After The Rumbling (2)
Brightness chuckled for a moment and then made himself look strong and regal. Holding himself upright really gave off the imposing feeling that he had grown a noticeable amount after the result of the battle. He was now nearly as large as his Uncle had been before. Which was quite the nice boost for him and it would make the two brats more amicable to listening.
"Little brothers, I suggest you listen closely and don't interrupt me. Nod your heads if you understand." Brightness began, pausing to wait for the appropriate response. "Good, you have a choice to make. Either option will allow you to live but, one is clearly the better choice. First you can choose to surrender to Lady Nature's Mother, Night Silver, a dear friend that helped immensely during our battle to overthrow father. Or you can choose not to do so and live a rather hellish experience, one you won't have the option to get out of for quite some time." He explained, staring into the pair of dragons' eyes.
There was a long silence as the two dragons thought about their options. On the surface it doesn't really feel like a choice but, that's just because they are on the receiving end. Otherwise they'd be equally pleased to offer this deal as they are frustrated to receive it. It was an Ultimatum, one where they couldn't even choose death.
"Note that I pleaded with my dear friend to give you this choice. You were too young to be brought to the fight against our father. Even Tsanidorcus might have been a little young too, but his particular skill was needed." Brightness lamented, remembering how he wanted to oppose bringing along such a young sibling with them that day. "Anyway, as a result of your absence from that battle you had no idea the strength that my friend here is capable of. Today you have learned it first hand." He continued with a light sigh and relaxed for a moment as the injuries were still slowly healing.
"Oh, I was also holding back considerably. If I had wanted to I could have ended the fight much faster. In fact I was originally attempting to make that idiot surrender. Unfortunately a dragon's pride really is difficult to swallow. " Night Silver spoke up with a smirk, shrugged and shook her head exasperated.
The pair of dragons got a whole new sense of fear when they looked at her.
"Well, it's time for your answer." Brightness said with a threatening growl.
"Brother Brightness, I won't be turned into a meteor again, will I?" One of the dragons timidly asked.
"Pfft, now I see why you wanted me to spare them. They really are too young to fight. A shame they were used by their mother in such a way." Night Silver giggled with a spit take.
"And I won't lose my tail again, will I? That really hurt a lot." The other young dragon asked.
"Yes, they are still capable of being cute. The Great Mother made a big mistake sending them out this time. I had once thought there could be some reconciliation between us. However, knowing that these 2 would be helpless even before myself, yet sending them out anyways… She doesn't deserve them anymore." Brightness chuckled, half heartedly. He was mostly furious.
"Yeah, it seems like she doesn't mind losing the weak ones… Well, in my care they won't be weak for very long. That is of course if they vow to support me." Night Silver said, giving the two dragons another look, this time it wasn't filled with terror inducing fury. Rather it was a kind and gentle look, one that seemed welcoming. "Let's see here… Oh, I'll teleport those cuties over here. You can ask them about how I'll treat you if you make the right choice." She continued.
Suddenly 2 absolutely adorable tiny little fae creatures appeared, each taking a rest upon Night Silver's Breast and gave her a hug. "Mommy!" The two shouted, rubbing their adorable and tiny faces back and forth.
"Hey there, you two. These two dragons here have to make a choice. Tell them what it will be like if they make the right choice, by surrendering to me not as captives but subordinates." Night Silver giggled, gently petting the two of the fae creatures with her finger. This feeling of them rubbing into me was odd at first, but I'm used to it now. I quite like this feeling, is this a mother's skinship? "You can do that for me right?" She asked.
"Yes mommy!" The two fae creatures said, lifting their heads up to sit upright. The two turned to face each other, this way they could look at the dragons sideways while staying close to Night Silver.
"Mommy treats all of us really well!" The one Fae joyfully said.
"We get tons of food and anything we ask for!" The other one added, raising her arms up in an expression of her joy.
"On top of that! Mommy is MOMMY!" The two spoke together, and then laughed in unison.
It was a simple but cute display. Ultimately it didn't help explain what the results of the two dragon's choices would be. What did though, is how Night Silver acted with the two fae creatures. Instead of being angry at the nonsense the two of them had said, she simply giggled along with them and rubbed their tiny heads with a gentle touch.
"You have nothing to fear if you…" Night Silver began…
"Can I call you big sister? Calling you mommy doesn't feel right…" The crater forming dragon asked.
"Me too! Big sister Silver!" The hurtling dragon added.
The pair of dragons both perked up a little bit, hopeful for a positive answer. Meanwhile, Brightness blushed harder than ever.
"I don't think that's…" Brightness tried to answer first.
"Very well. You can think of me that way if you wish. I have no problem with that." Night Silver smiled. "It's not like I can't transform either. So I guess it can work out. Actually, it might be for the best to show you, but first let's get the two of you healed up. And since you're under my protection you don't have to go back to that terrible mother of yours. Okay?" She added, casting an area heal for all three dragons to benefit from.
