The 100th Regression of the Max-Level Player

Chapter 262: Is This the Human World? (2)

The remote island was littered with corpses.

Not human corpses, but monsters.

“Is everyone okay?”

“Yes, we’re fine!”

“Is anyone injured? If so, I’ll heal you!”

“No one’s hurt, and no one’s dead!”

Fortunately, among the pile of monster corpses, there were no human casualties.

Relieved, Christine let out a sigh as Min Juri approached her.

“Christine, have you seen Black Scythe?”

“Black Scythe?”

“I haven’t seen him for a while now…”

Christine also began looking around for Black Scythe, realizing she hadn’t noticed his absence while she was busy healing.

“I don’t know.”

“Did he say anything about going somewhere?”

“Not at all.”

Min Juri frowned as she counted the remaining people.

Including herself, there were 575 players. No matter how many times she counted, one was missing.

‘Where could he have gone?’

She didn’t have time to ponder further.

[Time remaining until the end of the round: 01:10:27]

The 5th wave would begin in just 10 minutes.

Realizing there wasn’t much time left, Min Juri began casting buffs on everyone.

Though the buffs had become familiar, the players didn’t forget to thank her.

“Thank you.”

“Of course. Now…”

Before Min Juri could finish, someone called out to her.

“Excuse me. Is your name Democracy?”

It was the Archmage Alex. Min Juri turned to him, her eyes wide.

“Yes, why?”

“If it’s not too much trouble, may I stay by your side?”

“What? Why…?”

“Based on my judgment, there are two most important players on this island.”

Alex pointed his staff at Christine.

“That Priest over there…”

Then he pointed directly at Min Juri.

“And you, the Buffer.”

“……”

“If the two of you fall, it’s safe to say there’s no chance of victory. That’s my assessment, so I’ll protect you.”

“You’re saying… you’ll protect me?”

“Yes. Protecting the supporters is a fundamental rule in party play, isn’t it?”

Min Juri was slightly flustered.

This was the first time someone had stepped forward to say they’d protect her.

“Uh, I’m fine, really. Please protect Christine over there instead.”

“That spot’s already taken, as you can see.”

Near Christine, a female player armed with a bow had taken up a protective stance, acting like a bodyguard.

“May I stay by your side to protect you?”

“Ah, well, sure. If you do, I’d appreciate it.”

As soon as Min Juri said the words, Alex nodded and moved next to her.

It felt a little awkward having him follow her like a bodyguard, but Min Juri didn’t see any harm in his proposal.

Besides, Alex didn’t seem like a bad person.

[5th Wave Summon]

[Players: 576 vs. Little Drakes: 1,152]

[The 6th wave summon will begin in 30 minutes.]

[Time remaining until the end of the round: 00:59:59]

As the 5th wave began, countless Little Drakes appeared in the sky.

Though they were called “Little Drakes,” each one was the size of a car, making them impossible to ignore.

“It’s starting!”

“Everyone, focus!”

“Just follow the strategy!”

“KIIIIIIIIII!”

“KYAAAAAH!”

The Drakes filled the sky, swooping down with bared fangs toward the ground.

“Fire ranged attacks first!”

“Take down the ones that get close!”

Despite the sudden appearance of flying monsters, the players didn’t panic.

After all, they’d already received a detailed strategy from Black Scythe beforehand.

Swishhh-!

Crackle-crackle-!

Fwooosh!

Thunk! Thunk!

Magic and arrows flew everywhere.

Players targeted the Drakes’ wings with ranged attacks, causing them to fall to the ground. Once grounded, the melee attackers rushed in to finish them off.

“It’s a fire attack!”

“Dodge it!”

When one of the Drakes opened its jaws and unleashed a blaze of fire, the players quickly scattered out of harm’s way.

Thanks to the Swift buff increasing their movement speed, they could avoid the attack with ease.

That didn’t mean there were no injuries at all, though.

“Ahh! It burns!”

“Over here!”

Christine cast a wide-area healing spell, instantly soothing the burn injuries on the players’ skin.

The players, reinvigorated, dove back into the fray, hunting the Drakes with renewed determination.

Perhaps disturbed by this efficient teamwork, one of the Drakes fixed its sights on Christine.

“Kyaoooo!”

It lunged at her with murderous intent, but its assassination attempt ended in failure.

Thunk! Thunk!

“KYAAAAGH!”

Arrows, fired in rapid succession by Dorothy, blinded the Drake by piercing both of its eyes.

“Not a chance.”

Dorothy smirked as she shot another arrow directly into the blinded Drake’s eye socket.

The magically enhanced arrowhead drilled into the creature’s brain, finishing it off.

Thanks to the players’ coordinated efforts, it didn’t take long for the thousand-plus Drakes to be completely annihilated.

“Phew, finally, we can rest a bit.”

“This round was tougher than the others.”

The players collapsed onto the ground, exhausted, and began to take a brief rest.

Once again, no lives were lost in the battle—a miracle, given the odds.

Still, no one could erase the worry etched on their faces.

That was because they already knew what would come in the final wave, thanks to Black Scythe’s briefing.

“It’s going to be the battle angels, right?”

“Yeah, he said 10 of them would show up.”

“Now we even have to fight angels… This is insane.”

“Can we really win against them with our strength?”

“We can. Black Scythe said it’s possible, didn’t he?”

But what they didn’t know was that when Ryu Min said he could handle the angels, he was referring to 6th-tier angels.

[Is this the Human Realm?]

When the 6th wave summon began, 1st-tier angel Baruel descended, grinding his teeth in fury.
