That Is Not My Sister But Bibi Dong?!

Chapter 85: Testing Ye Tian

Seeing Bibi Dong being pulled away by Ye Tian, Qian Renxue was beyond surprised.

Even though Bibi Dong had never cared for her since childhood, Qian Renxue knew Bibi Dong very well. From her appearance to her very core, she was an extremely aloof woman.

For over a decade, it wasn't that no powerful Super Douluo-level experts had pursued Bibi Dong in secret. But all were rejected without hesitation, with no chance for reconciliation. Let alone holding hands.

Although Bibi Dong's current public identity was not the Pope but Ye Tian's sister, allowing Ye Tian to hold her hand still felt unusual.

Of course, Qian Renxue didn't think too deeply into it. She just believed that Ye Tian held an extraordinary place in Bibi Dong's heart, perhaps even surpassing Hu Liena and herself.

This stirred some bitterness in Qian Renxue's heart. Deep down, hadn't she also longed for Bibi Dong's love? ... A love she had never received since childhood.

Qian Renxue grew up never understanding what she had done to offend Bibi Dong. Why was it that every time Bibi Dong saw her, her expression was always cold? Why would Bibi Dong rather nurture Hu Liena than place even a sliver of affection on her?

This was also why, for over a decade, she resented Bibi Dong and refused to call her mother.

As she grew older and gained more experience, Qian Renxue had faint suspicions that there might be an unusual story behind it all. But who could make up for the familial love she had lacked as a child?

With this mindset, when she saw Ye Tian holding Bibi Dong's hand, her gaze was particularly complicated, even tinged with envy and jealousy.

Bibi Dong had known Ye Tian for less than two months, yet they had grown so close. As her daughter, Qian Renxue had known Bibi Dong for over ten years, but they didn't even have a relationship that could be called friendship, let alone the bond between mother and daughter.

"The Pope has left."

She Long looked up at Ye Tian's retreating figure and sighed. He didn't understand why Bibi Dong was concealing her identity, and he dared not expose it. Instead, he approached Qian Renxue and whispered, "Reporting directly to the Pope could lead to many complications, so reporting to you, Young Master, would be the same."

"What's the matter?" Qian Renxue raised an eyebrow and looked at She Long.

She Long smiled, took out a letter written by Qian Dao Liu, and handed it to her. Based on the contents of the envelope, it was clear that Qian Dao Liu had originally intended to give the letter directly to Bibi Dong. However, since Bibi Dong hadn't left any contact information, She Long had no choice but to deliver it instead.

With a puzzled expression, Qian Renxue took the envelope and opened it, surprised. "My grandfather wrote this?"

With just one glance, she recognized her grandfather's handwriting. Then she read the letter from beginning to end, her expression matching She Long's when he first read it, her eyebrows raised.

"My sister is making bold moves with this new policy."

Although the letter only mentioned a few personnel changes, the implications and scope were immense.

She Long nodded in agreement. "I believe the Grand Worshiper's concerns are not without reason. With two great empires and the three upper sects surrounding us, it won't be easy for the Spirit Hall to carry out its reforms."

"When you hand the letter to the Pope, Young Master, you must explain the pros and cons carefully."

He added, "While the ideal outcome of the reforms would benefit the Spirit Hall greatly, the steps are too large. One step might be innovation, but two steps could lead to collapse."

Qian Renxue rested her slender, pale hand on her chin and said, "I have a different opinion."

"Lord She Long has spent years within the Spirit Hall and has little contact with the high-ranking officials of the two great empires. But I, having been undercover in the Heaven Dou Empire for over a decade, am very familiar with their policy shifts."

"For the past ten years, the Heaven Dou Empire has been stockpiling resources for war, and they have been gradually increasing the training of their militia."

"Moreover, the nobility is becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the expansion of the Spirit Hall's influence. Anti-Spirit Hall sentiments have been on the rise."

She fixed her gaze on She Long. "In my estimation, within ten years, a war will inevitably break out across the continent."

"With the power of our Spirit Hall, whether it's Heaven Dou, Star Luo, or the three upper sects, we are more than capable of handling them."

"But, Lord She Long, have you ever considered what happens when a pride of wolves stops fighting each other and bands together to face a powerful lion? No matter how strong the lion is, it will struggle to fend off the pack."

She Long instinctively replied, "The wolves would temporarily cease infighting and unite against the lion. Despite the lion's strength, it would struggle against the pack."

Qian Renxue's face remained expressionless. "The Spirit Hall is much the same. Though we appear to be the strongest force on the continent, we are trapped in an invisible web, constantly constrained."

"You may not know this, but at Emperor Xue Ye's request, I've already become a disciple of Ning Fengzhi."

The significance of the crown prince of the Heaven Dou Empire becoming a disciple of the master of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda Sect, one of the three upper sects, was self-evident.

She Long's expression grew grim. The alliance between the empire and the sects was not good news for the Spirit Hall.

Qian Renxue continued, "It's likely the same with the Star Luo Empire. Their royal family has always been close to the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan."

"So, while our Spirit Hall seems powerful and time appears to be on our side, increasing our strength is actually an urgent matter."

"I reserve my support for my sister's approach."

"…But I'm afraid your support doesn't count, Young Master," She Long sighed. "Even if the order for the personnel changes hasn't been issued yet, just a leak of this news would cause a massive uproar among the subordinate families of the Spirit Hall."

He lowered his voice and added, "Not to mention, you know the Grand Worshiper's temper…"

Qian Dao Liu was notoriously stubborn and unyielding. The policy changes directly affected the foundation of the Spirit Hall, and convincing the cautious conservative leader Qian Dao Liu would not be easy.

Growing up by her grandfather's side, Qian Renxue knew his temper well. From his handwritten letter, it was clear that he strongly opposed her sister's policy.

She rubbed her forehead lightly. This was indeed a tricky situation, and since she couldn't return to Spirit City in person to explain things to her grandfather, it seemed difficult to handle.

Amid her frustration, Qian Renxue suddenly thought of Ye Tian. She realized that the policy her sister had devised was conceived during her time by the coast of the East Sea, leading her to suspect that it might have originated from Ye Tian.

This would explain why her sister valued Ye Tian so highly. Coming up with such an advanced policy marked Ye Tian as a strategic talent of the highest order, no matter where he was.

As she pondered, a thought crossed Qian Renxue's mind: "Since Ye Tian was able to think of such a groundbreaking policy, could he also have a solution to this policy dilemma?"

Her heart stirred slightly. Perhaps she could use this difficult issue to test Ye Tian's capabilities and see if he truly had the talent and wisdom she suspected.
