That Is Not My Sister But Bibi Dong?!

Chapter 26: The Role of the Healer

With a swift movement, the needle was lifted, and the bandages unfurled.

The perfectly stitched wound left only a barely visible trace of blood, making it impossible to tell that the injury had been severe.

After confirming there were no signs of infection, Ye Tian withdrew his gaze and turned to Qin Xuan, advising her, "Make sure to disinfect the wound frequently, change the bandages often, and don't let Xiaoxin move too much. The wound is too deep, and I'm worried that movement could cause it to tear again and risk infection."

Qin Xuan slightly bowed and replied, "Don't worry, young master. I'll take care of it."

Then, she instinctively glanced at Xiaoxin, who lay beside them.

She realized that Xiaoxin was already awake, secretly watching her and Young Master Ye Tian.

With a warm smile, Qin Xuan said, "Xiaoxin, you're awake? Just in time, the farm's communal breakfast is about to start. I'll bring you some food in a bit."

Feeling the embarrassment of her exposed body, Xiaoxin's face flushed as she shyly mumbled, "Mm... okay."

She glanced at Ye Tian, and tears welled up in her eyes.

"Thank you, Young Master Ye Tian. Thank you for saving me."

Last night, upon regaining consciousness, she had learned from Qin Xuan that Ye Tian had saved her.

Xiaoxin was so moved that she was at a loss for words.

When she had been gravely injured by a spirit warrior while facing Zhou Wu yesterday, she had thought she was at death's door.

She hadn't expected that it would be Young Master Ye Tian who pulled her back from the brink.

Young Master Ye Tian is truly kind-hearted...

"It's no big deal. Just a small favor," Ye Tian waved it off.

At that moment, a voice came from the door.

"Brother, so this is where you are."

It was Hu Liena, her voice full of cheer, but when she noticed Xiaoxin in bed, she felt that her laughter was inappropriate and quickly stifled it.

Instead of going to Ye Tian directly, she approached Xiaoxin and asked with concern, "Little sister, how are you feeling?"

"Much... much better." Not used to being cared for, Xiaoxin replied awkwardly.

"Shy, are we?"

Qin Xuan smiled at Xiaoxin, took a glass bottle of disinfectant from the nearby table, and unscrewed the cap.

She picked up a ball of pristine white cotton, dabbed it in the disinfectant, and moved closer to Xiaoxin, smiling, "Once the wound is disinfected, I'll cover you with the blanket."

Upon hearing this, Hu Liena's face flushed, and she belatedly shot a jealous look at Ye Tian, "You must have seen a lot, haven't you?"

"Huh?!" Ye Tian was stunned, giving Hu Liena a light tap on the forehead, "What nonsense are you thinking?"

"Ouch!" Hu Liena exclaimed in pain, clutching her head and casting a pitiful glance at Ye Tian.

"Can't leave you two alone for a second without seeing you bicker again," Bibi Dong chuckled, covering her mouth as she entered the room.

She was then drawn to Qin Xuan's actions and asked, "What are you doing?"

"Disinfecting," Qin Xuan replied, glancing back at Bibi Dong.

Upon hearing the word "disinfect," Bibi Dong raised her delicate eyebrows in confusion.

"Was Xiaoxin poisoned yesterday?" she asked, puzzled.

Seeing his sister's confused expression, Ye Tian couldn't help but chuckle, "Sister, disinfection and detoxification are not the same thing."

"The disinfection we're talking about here is to prevent bacterial infection."

He pointed casually around them, "In the air around us, there are many tiny, invisible bacteria."

Then he added, as if he had an epiphany, "You could think of bacteria as a kind of parasitic poison."

Hearing Ye Tian's explanation, Bibi Dong pressed a finger to her forehead, deep in thought.

Hu Liena opened her mouth slightly. Although she understood every word Ye Tian said individually, when strung together, it was hard to grasp.

Seeing the two of them confused, Ye Tian explained further, "You might know that serious wounds can fester. That's actually caused by bacterial infection.

If you don't disinfect the wound and kill the bacteria in time, the injured person might have to amputate or even die within a few days."

Hearing Ye Tian's example, Hu Liena quickly thought of a street in Spirit City called Old Soldiers' Alley.

That's where retired soldiers from the Spirit Hall army lived. Every year, her teacher would visit them at the end of the year.

She had gone with her teacher before.

In her memory, many of those old soldiers had lost limbs because their battlefield wounds had become infected.

Suddenly, Hu Liena looked up at Ye Tian and asked, "So, by disinfecting and bandaging the wounds, you can prevent infection?"

"Yes," Ye Tian nodded, impressed by how quickly she understood.

Hu Liena's eyes lit up. "So if a soldier's leg or arm is wounded on the battlefield, disinfection and bandaging could prevent amputation?"

"If it's just a sword or knife wound, amputation can generally be avoided," Ye Tian answered without much thought.

Hearing this, Hu Liena's eyes gleamed with excitement as she turned toward her teacher.

If this medical technique were brought back to the Spirit Hall army, many soldiers might be spared from losing limbs after every battle.

This is groundbreaking!

Ye Tian is truly incredible!

Bibi Dong smiled in response and quietly approached Qin Xuan, deep in thought. "Miss Qin Xuan, you aren't a spirit master, are you?"

Qin Xuan hesitated for a moment, puzzled by the question, but replied, "No, I'm just an ordinary person."

"How long did it take you to learn these medical techniques?"

"About two months, I think? I don't remember exactly. Young Master Ye Tian trained many of us at the time, so he would know better."

Bibi Dong was astonished by this.

"Are you saying you were trained in a group? And it only took two months?"

Training in bulk, and in such a short time? That means this could be replicated on a large scale. How incredible!

She had thought that Ye Tian only had exceptional talent in training soldiers.

She hadn't expected that Ye Tian could make such significant contributions in the medical field as well.

In just two months, he had trained a competent healer.

Truly outstanding people are extraordinary no matter which field they enter.

Noticing Bibi Dong's amazement, Qin Xuan awkwardly smiled, "You could say that. In fact, every village on the Eastern Sea Shore has healers like me. Although we can't treat major illnesses, we can easily handle injuries and common ailments."

"Every village has one?" Bibi Dong couldn't hide her surprise.

"Yes," Qin Xuan smiled again, wondering why Ye Tian's sister seemed so unfamiliar with such things.

Why doesn't she know anything?

Seeing Qin Xuan's discomfort, Ye Tian laughed and explained, "My sister hasn't been home in many years, so she's curious about the great changes in our hometown."

"I see," Qin Xuan understood.

Indeed, just three years ago, her village, Zizhu, had barely enough to eat.

But this year, almost every family had built a new house, and there was more than enough food to go around.

They could even eat meat regularly.

All of this had come about because of Young Master Ye Tian's arrival, which had transformed Zizhu Village.

After a long pause, Bibi Dong, still recovering from her surprise, approached Ye Tian and asked, "Are you still training healers?"

"I am, but I'm no longer directly involved. There's a healer school behind my villa."

"If you're interested in this work, Sister, you can go and study there too."

After all, she wasn't returning to Spirit Hall as a maid, and with her personality, she likely wouldn't want to sit idle.

Becoming a healer would be a good fit for her, especially since it's a job well-suited for women.

"Alright, I'll definitely go," Bibi Dong smiled brightly.

Ye Tian always managed to surprise her.

The role of healers was self-evident. Whether for the Spirit Hall army or for civilians, the benefits were immense.

And those benefits were both practical and reputational!
