Chapter 19: Rebellion against Heaven - Part 6
Chapter 6: The Hunt for Aiko
Aiko gasped, blood running down her forehead and her vision clouded with pain. He could barely stand, but his determination was still intact. In front of her, Daichi, Kenta, and Haru looked at her with terrifying coldness.
"I didn't think you'd last that long, Aiko," Haru said, holding her bow firmly.
"You're tougher than you look," Kenta added, twirling one of her scythes between her fingers.
Aiko spat blood and smiled sideways.
"Did you really think it was going to fall so easily?" If so, they are underestimating me too much.
"No," Daichi interjected in a deep voice. We just want you to stop moving.
Before Aiko could react, Daichi threw his spear with devastating force. The black tip pierced through his right thigh, piercing flesh and bone with a nauseating sound. A heart-rending scream escaped his lips as he fell to his knees, feeling excruciating pain run down his leg.
"Shit!" He gasped, trying to pull out the spear, but the pain was paralyzing.
He did not have time to recover. Kenta appeared at his side in the blink of an eye, his scythes gleaming with a deadly edge. With a brutal twist, the blade of one of them opened a deep cut in her side, while the other hit her back hard, causing her to fall to the ground with a sharp blow.
"The High Heralds should not have a burden like you," Kenta spat, stomping his head on the ground. You're a nuisance.
Aiko gritted her teeth, her fingers scratching at the bloody dirt. In one swift motion, he turned his body and caught Kenta's ankle with a wrench, knocking it to the ground with a thud. Before he could react, he threw a punch straight into his face, causing his nose to bleed.
"Bastard!" Kenta roared, wiping his blood furiously.
Haru seized the moment. From a distance, he drew his bow and shot without hesitation. The arrow sliced through the air and stabbed Aiko's left shoulder, piercing him from side to side. Another scream came from his throat as blood soaked his clothes.
Daichi approached with heavy steps, ripping his spear from Aiko's thigh with a cruel jerk. A new groan of pain shook her body, but she refused to fall.
"You endure longer than expected," Daichi murmured, looking at her indifferently.
Aiko spat on the ground, her eyes burning with rage.
"Is that all you have?" I thought the Supreme Heralds were stronger.
Kenta roared in fury and kicked her in the stomach, lifting her off the ground and rolling her several yards. Aiko felt her ribs crackle from the impact, but she forced herself up, staggering.
"Are you still strong?" Haru asked with a sadistic smile.
Aiko wiped the blood from her lips and looked at them defiantly.
"It doesn't matter how much they beat me. I'm not going to give up.
Daichi sighed, holding his spear tightly.
"Then we'll have to make sure you don't get up ever again."
Without warning, the three attacked at the same time, their weapons gleaming in the light. Aiko clenched her fists, ready to face them, even though her body screamed in pain. I knew I was on the verge of death, but if I was going to fall, I would do it fighting.
And if I was going to die... she would make sure to take one of them with her.
