Chapter 1: Three Years in the Dark

Ryuusei and Aiko's world had changed drastically in recent years. While society continued to function with the illusion of stability, the reality was that darkness spread to every corner. In this world, where heroes and villains were part of everyday life, there were also older and more dangerous entities: the Divine Beings. And among them, Death played its own game, pulling the strings of fate.

It's been three years since it all started. Three years since Death claimed his heralds and forged them into his warriors. Ryuusei, now 17, has become a feared and lethal combatant, with absolute mastery over his warhammers and teleportation daggers. Aiko, just 12 years old, has shown impressive growth, deftly wielding the Black Herald's Sword.

But they are not the only ones who have evolved. Daichi, at 20 years old, is the most loyal to Death and wields the Spear of Judgment (Kuroyari - 黒槍), capable of inflicting multiplied pain with each wound, traversing physical obstacles without losing edge, and granting him immunity from mental manipulation and fear. 18-year-old Kenta moves with lethal precision with his Twin Scythes of the Eclipse (Getsurei - 月霊), whose slashes can extend through the shadows, granting him superhuman speed in combat, and increasing his stamina with each life taken. 19-year-old Haru masters the Crimson Void Bow (Akakū - 赤空), capable of generating infinite arrows with his will, firing shots that chase his target, and unleashing showers of explosive arrows.

Death has entrusted them with countless missions in this time: to steal fortunes, capture or murder those whose purpose in life had already been fulfilled. However, while Ryuusei and Aiko preferred to carry out their orders quickly and without unnecessary suffering, Daichi, Kenta, and Haru enjoyed cruelty, torturing their victims with sadistic methods before giving them the final blow. Mangled bodies, screams drowned in the darkness... a macabre work of art that pleased Death, but that little by little generated an abyss between them.

Over the years, Ryuusei has trained relentlessly, outperforming everyone else in combat. His warhammers crush any defenses, while his teleportation daggers allow him to move with terrifying speed. Aiko, with her Black Herald Sword, has become his best ally, learning from him and perfecting his technique.

But something is changing. Death constantly whispers to Ryuusei, hinting that his parents are dead. However, a doubt is planted in his mind... What if they are not? What if they're still alive somewhere? Meanwhile, the relationship with Daichi, Kenta, and Haru becomes increasingly strained. There's something in the air, a sense of inevitability. Something is about to break.

And when it does, nothing will ever be the same again.
