Teen Wolf: Frankenstein

Chapter 11: chapter 10

Chapter 10: Scott's First Hunt - Part 2

[POV: Scott]

After Frank left, we ventured deeper into the forest. The forest felt calm… too calm. There were no sounds or smells of any animals.

—What do you think the boss monster will be? An orc? Or better yet, an ogre. Though I'd prefer a leshy. Many cultures worshiped them as forest and nature spirits, but they're dangerous and have the ability to shapeshift —said Stiles in his "walking library" mode.

—I just hope it's not as dangerous as Mr. Frank made it seem —said Allison.

—Trust me, it will be dangerous… very dangerous. Knowing him, there will be something here that could kill us —I said.

As we continued deeper into the forest, Stiles crouched down.

—Guys, there are footprints here —he said, then proceeded to touch them and lick his hand—. They're wet, like it just rained, which hasn't happened in weeks. It also tastes like the water recently fell here… this is fresh.

—Okay, I'm not going to ask why you had to taste wet dirt with the footprints of some supernatural creature —I said, while Allison just gave Stiles a disgusted look.

—I don't think it's poisonous. Besides, Mr. Frank makes me drink so much poison that I think any vampire who drinks my blood would die in 10 seconds —said Stiles.

—I wasn't saying it was poisonous. I was saying it's disgusting —I replied.

—Alright, guys, enough chit-chat. We have a boss monster to hunt —said Allison.

And so, we continued venturing deeper into the forest, with Stiles stopping every now and then. The footprints were getting fresher and fresher until we finally reached a lake.

And yes, while there was a lake in Beacon Hills and Lydia had a house there, this one was different. It felt completely "supernatural," like if you stepped into it, you'd never come back out.

—All the footprints lead here, Scott. That means the boss monster is aquatic. That narrows down the options, but there are still thousands of aquatic supernatural creatures —said Stiles.

—Well, let's find out what it is —said Allison, grabbing an arrow and aiming at the center of the lake.

With a steady breath and exquisite aim, the arrow flew to the center of the lake and exploded.

From the water emerged a… horse? Although it also looked like a frog with its scaly, slimy skin. Its skin was gray, and its body was muscular. Its legs were webbed, I suppose to help it swim better.

—Stiles, what the hell is that? —I said.

—It's a Kelpie. It's an aquatic supernatural being. Legends say they drowned travelers who passed near lakes. They also love eating humans —Stiles quickly responded.

—Why do they all have to eat human flesh? I mean, chicken definitely tastes better than us —said Allison.

—Well, I'm going to tame that wild horse —I said jokingly.
