System Of Endless Cultivation

Looking around for a while, just as Eryx was about to walk towards the medicinal garden, a soft sound of footsteps approached.

"Are you awake?"

Eryx turned to see a young girl, about seventeen or eighteen, approaching. She was breathtakingly beautiful, with long, flowing black hair that cascaded down her back like a waterfall. Her eyes were as clear and bright as twin stars. She wore a flowing white robe adorned with intricate silver embroidery, cinched at the waist with a jade belt.

Back on Earth, the internet was awash with both natural and artificial beauties. Rarely did someone possess the natural allure and impressive presence of this girl.

Lin Xia was also with this girl.

At this moment, Lin Xia excitedly introduced, "This is my Third Senior Sister, Lin Ning'er. Yesterday, when we found you unconscious, she was the one who gave you the Minor Rejuvenation Pill and brought you with us."

"I'm Eryx. Thank you for saving my life," Eryx said politely with a smile. The more he looked at Lin Ning'er, the more striking she seemed.

"There's no need for thanks. Xia pleaded with me to save you yesterday. You should thank her," Lin Ning'er replied. Her tone appeared distant.

Stopping for a moment, she spoke again, "Silver Moon Sect does not have male disciples and we don't keep male guests. Now that you've recovered, please leave the mountain promptly."

Mountain?

Eryx raised his head and again looked at his surroundings. Only now did he realize that he was actually on top of a mountain. This mountain was not that tall, but it was not short either. He could still see a huge forest to one side of the mountain from above.

Looking around for a few seconds, he immediately shifted his attention to her next words.

Truth be told, he didn't want to leave this place. It wasn't because of the allure of beauty, it was because he didn't have a place to stay. Moreover, he is just an ordinary person, with zero cultivation. If he leaves now, he will start starving again, and maybe next time, there will be no Lin Xia and Lin Ning'er to help him.

Eryx sighed inwardly, pondering how he might extend his stay.

Eryx was the only outsider she had ever talked to. She liked the feeling of talking with someone other than her Senior Sisters and Master.

Eryx secretly gave Lin Xia a thumbs up. He also didn't want to leave, at least not before officially stepping on the path of cultivation.

"Xia, everyone in our Silver Moon Sect is female. It's inconvenient to have him, a man, staying here on the mountain." Lin Ning'er said, her brow furrowed in concern.

"But... But I don't want him to leave. Third Senior Sister, please let him stay. Only a few days will do." The little girl insisted, tugging at Lin Ning'er's sleeve persistently.

"Even if I agree, it won't make a difference. Our Master won't consent," Lin Ning'er shook her head and replied, her voice softening as she spoke to the little girl.

"I'll plead with Master when she returns. She has such a kind heart; she surely won't have the heart to let Eryx go down the mountain and starve," the little girl continued to speak cutely.

"Remember, this is your decision. When Master comes back, I'll tell her everything. If she decides to punish you, I'll definitely not help." Lin Ning'er conceded at last with a sigh but still pretended to threaten Lin Xia.

Lin Xia was not afraid. She was confident that her Master would not punish her.

"You're the best!" The little girl exclaimed, jumping up and embracing Lin Ning'er around the waist with excitement.

Lin Ning'er ignored Lin Xia and coldly glanced at Eryx, saying, "You may stay here for a few days. Since our sect is home only to women, please ensure no misunderstandings arise. Also, aside from the courtyard you were in, you cannot enter any house. In the meantime, you can help us with herbs in the Medicinal Garden. In return, I can teach you a cultivation method."

"Thank you, Miss Lin, Lin Xia."

Eryx was relieved that he wouldn't be expelled just yet. At the same time, he was excited inwardly that he was finally going to learn a cultivation method. With a cultivation method in hand, he can finally use the System's function to improve and cultivate.

Lin Ning'er nodded and then left. Lin Xia stayed behind, wanting to accompany Eryx.

"So... Eryx, where are you from?"

Lin Xia asked as they both started walking towards the Medicinal Garden.

Eryx glanced at Lin Xia, then he thought of something and immediately looked down at the ground, pretending to be confused.

"I... I don't really know where I'm from. Everything is kind of blurry. It's like I've lost my memories. I only remember my name and nothing else," he said, his voice soft and uncertain.

Lin Xia's eyes widened in shock, not expecting Eryx to lose his memories. She stopped walking for a moment, her small face filled with sympathy. She asked with concern: "You don't remember anything? That must be so scary! Not knowing who you are or where you came from..."

Eryx nodded, trying to look sad. "Yes, it's hard. But I'm thankful to have met kind people like you and your sister. At least, I don't feel so alone."

Lin Xia's face softened even more, and she gave him a reassuring smile. "Don't worry, Brother Eryx. You're safe here with us, and I'll do my best to help you when my master comes back."

She patted him on the arm gently as they continued walking.

Soon, they arrived at the Medicinal Garden. The garden wasn't very big; it was around 1,000 square meters in size. It was a quiet place, filled with rows and rows of plants. Some of the plants were short and bushy, while others were tall and had long leaves.

These were all precious herbs.

The air in the garden was fresh, but there was a distinct smell of herbs that was both strong and calming at the same time. It wasn't unpleasant; it was more like a mixture of earthy and sweet fragrances that made the garden feel peaceful.

"This is the Medicinal Garden. We grow many different herbs here. Some of these herbs can be used to make pills for healing, others are for boosting cultivation." Lin Xia said, smiling as she looked around. 

Eryx took a deep breath, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the garden. The herbs were neatly planted in rows, and there were small paths in between them for walking. Some herbs had wide, green leaves, while others had thin, vine-like stems that wrapped around small wooden stakes. Every plant looked healthy and full of life.

There was a small water fountain near the back of the garden. The sound of the gentle trickle of water made the place feel even more serene. A few butterflies fluttered around, landing on the flowers before taking off again.

"You'll help us take care of these herbs while you are here. It's easy, and it'll give you something to do while you stay here." Lin Xia said.

Eryx smiled. Feeling a sense of calm as he looked around the beautiful garden, he said, "I'd be happy to help."

Then he slowly sat down and gently touched an herb, and then, something appeared before his eyes.

⟪Silverleaf Orchid: 10 Points⟫

It was a simple system interface. There was only a name and a number of points. But Eryx understood everything very clearly.

The herb he was touching was the Silverleaf Orchid, and it was worth 10 points of High-level Energy. Eryx had a feeling that, if he wanted to, he could easily extract these points of energy, but once he did, the herb would wither and die immediately.

Lin Xia, seeing Eryx touching an herb, explained, "It is the Silverleaf Orchid. It can cleanse impurities from the body and help in purifying our meridians. Most importantly, it can enhance the chances of a breakthrough in the late stages of the Qi Refinement Realm. Of course, it can only enhance the chances of breakthrough instead of giving a 100% success rate because its main function is to cleanse impurities of a cultivator's body."

Eryx nodded in understanding, but silently complained in his heart, "Such an important herb, and only contains 10 points of High-level Energy."

Eryx forgot that it was high-level Energy, not low or mid-level energy. Generally, such energy is almost impossible to obtain from such low-level herbs.
