Chapter 74: Reluctant to Reveal it all to her…

(Syrilblia’s POV)

Syrilblia: “Please do not think me selfish, but that dorm is privately owned by me. Currently, only my close friends live in it.” I answer.

Grace: “Oh? Am I not your friend?” She asked with a raised eyebrow.

Syrilblia: “…”

Grace: “I’m joking, don’t worry. With the new dorms, none of us have problems. I was just seeing if I could get closer to you.” She said with a laugh.

Originally, I had seduced Beatrice via my huge and private dorm. Due to that, I realized that many of the girls weren’t living perfect lives in theirs. As such, I had various parts of the Academy used for building new ones.

With the demons on our side, as well as magic, the process was very fast. Places such as the maze were destroyed, but nothing of value was lost. Now, each girl gets their own room, so they have their privacy.

Syrilblia: “You wish to get closer to me? We just met today, though…” I reply.

Grace: “While that is true, I feel like getting close to you will be to my benefit. And I also find it nice to be around you…” She replied.

Syrilblia: “Well, I already consider us to be friends.” I reply with a smile.

Grace: “That’s good. Oh…” She said, quickly becoming slightly sad.

Syrilblia: “What’s wrong?” I ask.

Grace: “I was going to invite you out to dinner, but it is already so late…” She answered.

Syrilblia: “We can still go out.” I reply with a shrug.

Grace: “Don’t we have a curfew?” She said with a head tilt.

Syrilblia: “Stupidly, the males didn’t have a curfew, only the females. Such a thing was wrong, so it was repealed a while back.” I explain.

This isn’t the full truth, as the curfew affected both the males and females. The difference was that, for the males, the curfew wasn’t enforced. But it was enforced for the girls. Why? Oh, you know. Normal sexism of this era, etc.

Grace: “How odd… Then, can we go eat?” She proposed.

Syrilblia: “Sure. There is a good restaurant that we can go to.” I agree with a smile.

A Walk to the Restaurant Later.

Well, not really a walk, as we had flown to it. Though, Grace didn’t know how to use magic yet, so I carried her like a princess. I didn’t do it to seduce her, mind you.

Grace: “This…” She said while looking at the menu.

Syrilblia: “Please order whatever you’d like, Grace.” I say with a giggle.

Grace: “It is… so expensive. I didn’t realize that you’d take me to such a place.” She said with a sad tone.

Syrilblia: “Are you okay?” I ask with a concerned tone.

Grace: “Sorry… I… I just feel somewhat insulted. I know that it wasn’t your intention, but I have been bullied like this in the past.” She answered with a sigh.

Syrilblia: “I have no intentions of bullying or insulting you, Grace.” I deny.

Grace: “I know, I know… But I cannot afford even the cheapest item on the menu.” She admitted with an embarrassed tone.

The Valesta family… though a noble one, they were the poorest in the kingdom of Chelva. It wasn’t free to attend the Academy, and it is very likely that her family had spent most of her money on her tuition.

Syrilblia: “Though you invited me, I was the one who took you to this restaurant, Grace.” I inform.

Grace: “What do you mean?” She asked with a confused tone.

Syrilblia: “Payment for our dinner was always going to be handled by me. This isn’t charity, pity, or me even showing off. When it comes to my friends, I am not stingy with my wealth.” I explain with a warm tone.

Grace: “Will… you’ll really pay for me, Syrilblia?” She said with an unsure tone.

Syrilblia: “I will, yes. So, just order whatever you want to eat.” I answer with a smile.

Grace: “…Thank you.” She said with a red face.

Was I seducing her? I don’t really know. What I do know… is about her character in the novel. Basically, as a fellow poor girl, Grace related with the MC greatly. Together, they adventured to find riches so they wouldn’t be poor anymore.

Of course, they didn’t really succeed in doing so. In the end, the prince was the one who got the MC out of poverty. The MC had amazing magical potential, so she was enrolled into the Academy for free.

After no longer being poor, the MC shared the wealth with Grace. I remember the scene where Grace went clothes shopping with the MC. She had started to cry, as she had never worn such expensive and nice clothes before.

At the moment… that uniform of hers should be the most expensive clothing item that she owns. Anyway, enough about that. Grace ordered her food, and then soon our meals were brought to our private room.

After the Meals Were Brought.

Grace: “It smells so good…” She praised, failing to stop the drool from leaving her cute dainty mouth.

Syrilblia: “No need to just bask in it, Grace. Just please start eating. I feel like I can’t start eating until after you take a bite…” I plead.

Grace: “Oh, right!” She said, excitedly taking a bite of her food.

Perhaps it was because of her being poor, but Grace had ordered the largest damn steak that I have ever seen. Can a girl her size even eat a steak that big? If she does, I wonder if it will go to her hips, or to her breasts? I am fine with either or, though.

Grace: “Sooo good…” She praised with a satisfied grin on her face.

Before I could notice, Grace ate more than half of her steak in… mere minutes. What the hell!? At no point in the novel, did it ever mention that Grace was one of those characters that could eat a large meal with ease…

Syrilblia: “My… what a hungry girl you are, Grace.” I say with a giggle.

Grace: “…”

At my words, the girl started to cry. What… did I accidentally upset her?

Syrilblia: “Did I say something that upset you? If I did, it absolutely wasn’t my intention at all. I swear that to you.” I nervously ask.

Grace: “No, no… I was just… I haven’t had a meal this big in years…” She said, rubbing the tears from her eyes.

Syrilblia: “Do… do you not have any coin for food, Grace?” I ask.

Grace: “I don’t… I have to rely on charity from my friends. Before… they were nice, but they would rarely just give me coin for food. Lately, though, they have been so nice… I was afraid to accept their kindness, thinking it was some scam or new form of bullying.” She explained.

Syrilblia: “Could you accept my kindness?” I ask with a warm tone.

Grace: “We just met… why would you help me like this?” She asked in reply.

Syrilblia: “One day, you might be very important to this kingdom. As such, I have no problems with helping you out financially. That is… the proper answer to your question.” I reply.

Grace: “Proper? What is your true answer, then?” She asked with a curious expression.

Syrilblia: “It pains me to see you suffering so… At the Academy, I have done many things to ensure that everyone lives comfortably. It seems that I have somewhat failed in that endeavor, though.” I answer.

Grace: “I don’t think that you’ve failed, Syrilblia. And… yes. I will accept your kindness.” She said with a tearful laugh.

Syrilblia: “Good. Why don’t you finish your meal? If you wish for seconds, just ask.” I suggest.

Grace: “…”

Her face went red again, probably being she very much was going to ask for another helping of that tasty looking steak. Eh, who cares?

Cute girls should be always pampered, so her wanting more to eat isn’t a problem. Besides, girls are also cute when they’re happily eating their food… Go on, Grace. Continue to eat… it makes me oh so happy!!!
