Chapter 7: Chapter 7
"Sorry, there was a traffic jam on the road." Daisy hurriedly sat on the chair in front of Holm and explained somewhat embarrassedly.
After all, it was clearly she who took the initiative to call Holm and wanted him to give her some guidance on the problems she encountered in writing the report, but in the end she ended up being late.
This sudden situation made her very embarrassed. Her stern face was tense and her brown eyes avoided Holm's gaze embarrassedly.
"It's okay, I just got here not long ago.
By the way, you didn't get enough rest last night, did you?" Holm pointed to the area under his eyes.
He himself had some dark circles under his eyes because he didn't get enough rest yesterday. But when he saw Daisy, he found that she was the same as him.
Although Daisy had put on makeup, he could still see some light smudge under her eyes.
Coupled with the fatigue that could not be concealed, it was clear that she did not get enough rest last night.
Hearing Holm's question, Daisy stroked her hair awkwardly and said, "Well, I didn't get enough rest. I was thinking about how to write a good report. Because I have never written one before, and I was afraid that maybe I will write something wrong in it."
Daisy was full of confidence when she started writing the report yesterday. After all, she had never heard of any agent being stopped for writing a report.
So even though she had never come into contact with mission reports and summary documents, she didn't take it seriously, thinking it wasn't that difficult.
As a result, she couldn't help but frown as she wrote yesterday, and the more she wrote, the more her ambitions were dampened.
Who would have thought that such an ordinary job would have so many confusing points? Comparing it with the report Holm had written before, she felt that what she had written was simply unsightly.
At the beginning, the strong-willed Daisy wanted to figure it out on her own according to Holm's report format, and she didn't mind even if it took a whole night.
But after working for hours and failing to produce even a single paragraph, she began to lose confidence.
She wanted to call Holm for advice, but it was late at night and she couldn't wake Holm up for such a small matter.
She thought about it over and over again, struggling with it for an entire night, and waited until this morning to call Holm for help.
After hearing Daisy's explanation, Holm smiled and said, "It's my fault too. I didn't tell you properly yesterday."
After saying that, Holm took Daisy's report and began to explain to her in detail how to write the report in the most appropriate and simple way.
Listening to Holm's explanation, Daisy felt that the mess in her head was gradually sorted out.
Looking at Holm's serious explanation and his attitude just now, Daisy was also thinking deep in his heart why Holm treated her so badly before.
Could it be that she did something unknowingly that created a problem for Holm?
As time passed, the explanation gradually came to an end. Holm looked at Daisy who was very serious, and thought to himself that the foreshadowing should have been long enough.
Finally, looking at the report that Daisy had rewritten, Holm nodded and praised, "Very well written. I knew you could do it, you just needed some guidance."
Daisy was also very satisfied with the report she wrote. The report she wrote today was completely different from the one she wrote last night.
Perhaps because of excitement, or perhaps because she was happy about the results of her hard work, Daisy's stern face melted a little, and the corners of her mouth curled up slightly, looking very happy.
Looking at the different Daisy, Holm sighed in his heart that this girl finally looked about the same age as him.
She is obviously very beautiful and has a great face, but she always has a cold face and a look that makes her look several years older.
"Right."
"Mr. Clint"
Just as Holm was about to ask Daisy about what happened yesterday, Daisy suddenly raised her head and spoke.
Daisy had originally mustered up the courage to ask Holm why he treated her that way before, but after this incident, the courage she had just mustered up suddenly disappeared.
"You speak first, Mr. Clint." Daisy decided that she should wait for a while before speaking. Yes, she is not backing down, she is just postponing the matter.
Holm was a little surprised at first, but when he heard Daisy ask him to speak first, he was no longer humble, thought about his words and then started talking.
"What I want to say is, wasn't I late for work yesterday because I had some personal matters and didn't see the mission information? I want you to keep it a secret for me, don't write it in the mission report, and don't tell the higher-ups."
"My previous leave application is still pending. If they knew I made this mistake, they would definitely have another reason to delay me, so…."
Hearing Holm's request, Daisy's expression suddenly became unnaturally stiff.
After Holm finished speaking, Daisy also tightly grasped the coffee cup in front of her, then lowered her eyes and said a little embarrassedly "I'm sorry, I… Chief Coulson called me yesterday when you were not here yet.
It was just a few words like before, but when we were talking about our mission I mentioned that you hadn't arrived yet.
But I told him I had called you and told him you were on your way and that you were delayed because of some traffic jam.
I don't know if this will affect your leave application." As she spoke, Daisy lowered her head lower and lower. She really felt a little embarrassed.
It was clear that Holm had just patiently taught her a lot of things, but she couldn't even help him with such a small favour, and even made things worse yesterday.
While Daisy was feeling sorry, although Holm looked normal, he had already started thinking in his mind.
Chief Coulson is Phil Coulson. Whether it is his memories from this life or the memories of movies from his previous life, he has a deep impression of this person in his memory.
After all, he is the right-hand man of Nick Fury, the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., and a high-level senior agent.
So is it such a high level agent, who wants to deal with him? Holm was a little unsure.
While he was trying to think, Daisy whispered, "I don't think Chief Coulson would care about these little things, but I also heard Mr. Ward talking to him. They seemed to be together."
"Emmmm, Mr. Ward probably won't care about such a small matter either. I think he's a very nice guy."
Ward, Grant Ward.
When he heard the name, Holm suddenly felt his head throb.
Then some fragmented memories began to surge.
