Symbiotic Agent

Chapter 2: Chapter 2

'From now on I will continue to live in this world as Holm Clint, as you.' Lin Mo thought as he looked at the calluses on his hands.

The memories of his past life and the remaining memory fragments in his head made him a little dizzy.

Now he was neither his past self Lin Mo nor this world's Holm Clint.

Even though it was a little strange and hard to accept, from now on, he was Holm Clint.

Looking at the strange yet familiar room, Holm slowly stood up.

After a short rest, he felt much better.

Then he cleaned the blood on the ground and searched the house to see if he could find any clues.

Only the murderer knew that he was dead, and the murderer could not have expected that he would come back to life, so he had to search the room carefully to see if there were any clues left by the murderer.

As a Level 6 agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., his death was no small matter, moreover if he was killed, so if the murderer wanted his death to not cause any uproar or be investigated in detail, they would have to make good arrangements.

Either prepare a complete chain of evidence, or deal with him in a way that it leaves no trace and just make him disappear from the face of earth.

From the fact that he was able to come back to life in the room instead of crawling out of a grave in the suburbs, it can be seen that the murderer should have chosen the former method.

With this idea in mind, Holm also conducted a complete search of every corner of the room, but unfortunately, apart from knowing more about himself, the complete chain of evidence he imagined did not appear.

But this scene didn't make any sense. Could it be that the murderer was so rampant that they didn't care about being investigated?

Beep! Beep! Beep!

While he was thinking, the cell phone on the coffee table began to ring.

Holm tried a few combinations of numbers that were more familiar to him and finally unlocked the lock on his phone.

Then he saw that a woman named Daisy Johnson was calling him.

Looking at the vibrating phone, Holm nervously answered the call.

"Why haven't you come yet? The mission notification was sent out half an hour ago." A slightly cold voice came from the phone.

"Sorry, I'll be right there." Holm answered as concisely as possible.

After hearing Holm's answer, the person on the other end of the phone suddenly fell silent.

This made Holm's heart skip a beat, and he wondered if the other party had noticed anything unusual.

He had very few memories of this name in his mind. He only remembered that the two of them should be colleagues, but there was no specific scene of them getting along with each other.

So he didn't know what attitude he should use to answer the other party, and could only use words that were as concise and direct as possible.

Just when Holm was feeling a little uneasy, Daisy Johnson's voice came from the phone again. "Okay."

It ended with a simple word, followed by a busy tone as the phone was hung up.

While calming himself down, Holm opened his phone and found the encrypted task notification and the information related to it.

"Emergency mission: There is an anomaly at Midtown high in Manhattan. Agent Holm Clint and Daisy Johnson are requested to act quickly and investigate the situation."

"It looks like we two might be partners, but why do I remember so little about her?" After seeing the mission notification, Holm had some guesses about the relationship between him and Daisy Johnson, but he still had some questions that remained unanswered.

The task notification was sent half an hour ago, and he has been delayed for half an hour now. He really needs to set off quickly.

Holm took off his blood-stained clothes and changed into new ones. He also packed the pistol and magazines in the cabinet.

Although he had never touched a gun in his previous life, thanks to his body's instinctive reaction and the influence of memory fragments, he did not feel strange holding the pistol.

Instead, he felt very familiar with it, and even felt that he could shoot wherever he pointed with one hand.

After preparing all the equipment, he closed the cabinet, but suddenly he seemed to remember something and opened the cabinet door again, and at the same time took out a small camera from his toolbox.

Just now he was still wondering why the murderer who killed him neither destroyed his body nor prepared a complete chain of evidence, but the reminder of the mission suddenly made him think of a possibility.

According to speculation, the murderer should be someone around him.

Either he is an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. or he is an agent of Hydra.

Therefore, the killer's sudden departure was most likely because they received an urgent mission notice just like him.

In the killer's eyes, Holm had already become a corpse, and he could neither run nor call for help, so they went to do their own urgent task first, and then they will come back to deal with Holm's body after the task was completed.

So according to this logic, the murderer who killed him should return to the scene soon.

As long as Holm instals this hidden camera, he will know who the murderer is when the killer returns to the scene.

This camera is connected to his mobile phone and will upload surveillance images to the phone in real time, so even if the killer finds the camera and destroys it, it will be useless.

After coming up with this idea, Holm immediately took action and placed the small camera in the corner above the curtains.

A shadow was cast there, so this small camera is placed there in a very concealed manner.

After arranging everything, Holm clenched his fists nervously, wondering who he would see on the video later.

After finishing all the arrangements, Holm walked out of the house.

Seeing that it was getting dark outside, he pressed the car key he found, found the car in his memory, and drove to Midtown high mentioned in the mission information.

As Holm drove on the road, the route gradually became clear in his mind.

After taking several shortcuts, he arrived at the place in just over ten minutes.

As soon as he got off the car, he could hear faint screams and murmured conversation.

The police here had just arrived and were setting up a cordon to isolate the crowd outside.

Just as Holm was thinking about what to do now, a tall figure quickly walked over from not far away.

The appearance of Daisy Johnson in his memory instantly overlapped with the figure in front of him, she was wearing a women's suit, her face adorned with a serious expression.

Although she looks younger than Holm, her temperament is indeed colder than that of ordinary people.

Looking at Holm who was somewhat dazed, Daisy Johnson urged him, "Come with me, the crime scene is inside."
