Chapter 58: Chapter 58: Explosion!
The Kumei Galaxy lies on the edge of the Black Dragon Mountain Star Region, roughly 100 light years away from Qilong Star. The Black Dragon Mountain-X81 spacecraft, traveling at 1.2 times the speed of light, spent over a month in the dark universe before finally reaching the Kumei Galaxy.
Just as A'long described, the Kumei Galaxy is outside the jurisdiction of the universe's primary civilization empire. In addition to the Huya people, other ethnic groups live here, many of whom share the same fate as the Huya—becoming commodities for slave traders.
Slave trading is a highly profitable industry in the universe, often a low-risk, high-reward business. Behind every slave trader is a significant background, and they target weak, unsupported groups, avoiding confrontation with stronger powers. Over time, the Kumei Galaxy has become a major hub for slave supplies. As soon as Ye Yun entered, he saw numerous spacecraft.
A'long, standing beside him, spoke softly, "In the Kumei Galaxy, outsiders are prohibited from approaching Huya's home planet. However, some slave traders need to inspect the source of their goods. To facilitate this, they've set up bases on uninhabited planets around the galaxy. These stations gather slaves from their original home planets for traders to choose from."
Ye Yun nodded in understanding. Planets like Huya serve as the slave traders' money-making factories. They're carefully guarded to keep outsiders at bay, but the transit stations are built for business.
With his current strength, Ye Yun knew he didn't have the means to confront the slave trade directly, even if he despised it. But after reviewing the memories of A'long and A'hu, he gained some unexpected insights that helped his mission.
"According to A'long, Huya Star is a well-established slave planet. The Huya people are kept in captivity, harvested every ten to twenty years. The security forces are predictable, leaving room for maneuver," Ye Yun thought.
Disguised as a slave trader, Ye Yun piloted the Black Dragon Mountain-X81 spacecraft to several transit planets at the galaxy's edge. He moved cautiously, making his way toward the inner Kumei Galaxy without raising suspicion.
The X81 is a C5-class spacecraft with solid shielding and detection systems, but it's only capable of cosmic-level defense. Ye Yun let Momoyu fully activate its shielding and detection abilities as they neared Huya Star, the home of the Huya tribe.
While the Huya tribe had grown stronger and expanded into nearby areas, Huya Star remained their central hub—both the most prosperous and the most heavily defended. It produced the most slaves, and its defense force was formidable.
Ironically, the strongest defenders of Huya Star were two former heroes of the tribe: two first-level cosmic Huya members. They had once led the tribe in resisting invaders but now served as the sharpest weapons against their own people. A'long and A'hu found this tragic, but there was little they could do.
From Ye Yun's position, Huya Star appeared as a green planet, three times the size of Earth. Floating in its outer space was a massive steel fortress—the base of the slave traders monitoring Huya Star. Normally, the fortress kept its distance, allowing the Huya people's anger to fuel their development. This, in turn, helped the tribe produce stronger individuals and more valuable slaves.
The two first-level cosmic Huya slaves had reached this power with the tribe's help, but as soon as they broke through, they were subdued by cosmic-level beings and turned into guards for the steel fortress.
Every few years, the fortress conducted a "harvest," capturing high-level Huya people as slaves. A'long and A'hu had been part of the last harvest, and because of their knowledge of Huya Star, Ye Yun didn't need to conduct a lengthy investigation.
Now that a harvest had recently ended, the tribe would need at least 20 years to recover. During this time, the fortress's defense would be weaker, with the two first-level cosmic-level Huya members as the strongest defenders.
Ye Yun knew not to act rashly, despite his envy of the riches on Huya Star. He wasn't foolish enough to risk his safety. He decided to test the security of the fortress to confirm A'long's information.
He carefully maneuvered the X81 closer to the fortress. As they approached, Ye Yun realized how massive the structure was. His spacecraft seemed tiny in comparison, but he was able to move in undetected, relieving some tension.
He opened the hatch, and under A'long's guidance, released a small, gray metal sphere the size of a ping-pong ball. It made contact with the fortress's exterior and exploded immediately. Though there was no sound in the vacuum of space, the explosion sent sparks flying. The blast was small but powerful enough to tear through the fortress's outer shell.
Ye Yun felt a sense of relief. The steel fortress was made of B-grade alloy, a valuable material, but his third-level bomb had proven strong enough to breach it.
The bomb, one of several special devices Ye Yun had chosen from Hong's treasure trove, was designed to threaten even cosmic-level beings. Though Hong's collection had been damaged, Ye Yun had managed to repair and replicate the bombs. They were complex to make and contained immense power. They were priced at around 3 billion Black Dragon coins per bomb.
With the outer shell breached, Ye Yun didn't rush in. He changed position and dropped another bomb. After a few more maneuvers, he saw two figures in black armor fly out of the fortress.
Momoyu's alarm sounded: "Cosmic-level life detected! Cosmic-level life detected!"
Cosmic-level beings were among the most powerful entities in the universe. Ye Yun had not encountered any before, but now, two Huya tribe members flew out from the fortress. These would be his first cosmic-level adversaries.
He quickly activated the shielding functions of the X81 and the environmental simulation stealth mode. The ship remained undetected as the two Huya warriors circled the area, searching for any suspicious figures.
After a while, the two cosmic-level Huya members stopped beneath the fortress, still unaware of Ye Yun's presence. He had positioned the X81 directly below them and had not been detected, but it wasn't long before the two Huya warriors sensed a strange force.
Suddenly, two masses of sticky liquid shot from below, entangling them. They struggled, but the force was too strong. The liquid balls had no immediate threat to their lives, but they couldn't break free.
Then, they saw two small gray metal balls descend toward them and land on their heads. A brief flash of flame, and when the explosion subsided, only metal debris remained in the void where the cosmic-level beings had been.
Inside the X81, A'long lowered his hand, clearly pained, and whispered, "Uncle Hu Guyu, Brother Hu Fulun... may you rest in peace."
