Chapter 50: Chapter 50: Your Treasure House? It’s My Treasure House!
Sitting on the right side of Hong, Ye Yun glanced at him before pointing to the figure on his left and introducing her in a low voice,
"This is my personal guard. You can just call her 'Enchanting.'"
Ye Yun nodded and briefly greeted Yao Rao, who was wearing a golden mask.
Hong looked at Ye Yun, whose face still appeared somewhat childish, a trace of nostalgia in his eyes. He spoke softly, his words filled with emotion,
"Not long after the Great Nirvana began, I grew up with the Thunder God and the others in an era when monsters were rampant. During those years, we fought monsters every day, and our strength grew rapidly. With the help of various ancient civilization relics, we achieved what we have today.
Ye Yun, your external environment is different from ours. It's truly remarkable that you surpassed the God of War so quickly and reached the planetary level!"
"Planetary level?" Ye Yun pretended to be confused.
Hong nodded,
"The warriors, generals, and war gods on Earth are essentially apprentices in the universe and are not considered true warriors! Only those who surpass the War God level, that is, the planetary level, have the initial qualifications to roam the universe. Now, all the councilors in the War God Palace are at this level.
You'll gradually understand all of this later. I've called you here for two main reasons."
"First, you've successfully broken through to the planetary level. As a member of my Extreme Martial Arts School, are you willing to become the Sixth Inspector?"
After Hong said this, he looked directly at Ye Yun, waiting for his decision.
Ye Yun didn't hesitate much and smiled,
"Master, I've been a member of our martial arts school for a long time, but I won't take a position like inspector. I just want to focus on practicing and avoid getting distracted by trivial matters. But Master, don't worry, if the Extreme Martial Arts School needs me, I'll definitely do my best and won't shirk my responsibilities!"
The Extreme Martial Arts School typically assigns tasks to members who are War Gods and above. One option is to stay behind, but planetary-level warriors have fewer restrictions. In Hong's opinion, Ye Yun's response was as expected. With his strength at this age, in addition to his exceptional talent, he must be deeply focused on cultivation. It's completely understandable that he doesn't want to delay himself with mundane titles or responsibilities.
Hong nodded slightly, a barely perceptible smile forming.
"Very well, I approve. I'll reserve a residence for you at the headquarters. You can freely choose whether to stay here to practice or return to your own Jiangnan base city. I won't restrict you. However, if a mission arises in the future, you must not be absent!"
Seeing that Hong's attitude had not changed, Ye Yun nodded. He then scratched his head and said in a low voice,
"Master, I've fulfilled our agreement. Can the conditions you promised be fulfilled?"
Hong shook his head slightly, slowly standing up and placing his hands behind his back. He spoke softly,
"Come with me."
Hong led the way out of the reception room, heading toward the deeper interior of the spaceship. Ye Yun followed quietly. Along the way, they saw many blue lights flashing, but there was no reaction. They continued until they reached a black door.
Hong faced the door, and with a "beep" sound, it slowly opened, revealing a narrow passage barely wide enough for one person to pass through.
This passage wasn't long, but as Ye Yun entered, he felt a chill run down his spine, as if any wrong move could result in immediate death.
When they reached the end of the passage, Ye Yun's eyes widened. He found himself in a huge circular hall. Unlike the narrow, low passage, this hall was tens of meters high and very spacious. The room was brightly lit, but the lighting wasn't harsh; instead, it gave off a comfortable feel.
Following Hong to the center of the hall, Ye Yun looked around and saw numerous holes in the walls, each containing different objects. The holes varied in size and depth, and each object was behind a transparent glass door, allowing a clear view of the contents.
Ye Yun couldn't help but exclaim, "Master, your treasure house is truly magnificent!"
Hong's tone held a rare hint of pride. Sweeping his right hand across, he smiled,
"Ye Yun, this is my personal treasure house. While the number of items here isn't as large as the main treasure house of the Extreme Martial Arts School, the quality is certainly unmatched. Many of these items can't be found anywhere else!
Since you've fulfilled your part of our agreement, I won't go back on my word. You may pick three items from here. Whatever you choose is yours!"
Hong paused and then added,
"However, I won't give you any guidance. You can only choose based on your own instincts and knowledge. What you gain will depend entirely on your luck!"
With that, Hong stood silently, hands behind his back, giving Ye Yun the time to make his choice.
Ye Yun glanced at Hong and noticed that Hong had slightly closed his eyes. Ye Yun then moved toward one part of the hall and approached a cave entrance.
Inside, Ye Yun spotted a shuttle-shaped object emitting a metallic glow. He immediately activated the Eye of Replication and scanned it into his sea of consciousness. Then Ye Yun spread out his senses and began moving through the hall.
About thirty minutes later, Hong opened his eyes, noticing that Ye Yun had returned to his side. He asked softly,
"Ye Yun, have you made your decision?"
Ye Yun nodded and pointed to three different directions. Hong waved his hand, and the glass doors to the three holes opened. Ye Yun's mental power lifted three objects and brought them before them.
Hong smiled,
"Are you sure about your choices? Once you leave this treasure house, there will be no chance for regrets!"
Ye Yun flashed a confident smile,
"Master, you said that the treasures I can choose depend entirely on my luck. I've never seen most of these items before, so I can't judge their value. Instead of wasting time, I'd rather make a quick decision. Anyway, anything you've collected here must be extraordinary. I'm sure I won't go wrong!"
The three items Ye Yun chose were a black fruit, a strange long knife, and what seemed like a ping-pong ball, though it was gray and had a hint of metallic luster.
Hong, aware that Ye Yun had only been exposed to cultivation for a short time, understood that Ye Yun wouldn't recognize most of the treasures. With Ye Yun's decision made, Hong said nothing further and led him out of the treasure house.
What Hong didn't know was that Ye Yun's watch had a scanning function far beyond his own knowledge. Using this technology, Ye Yun was able to clearly assess the value of these treasures. During his thirty-minute exploration, Ye Yun scanned many valuable items. However, the three he chose were merely mid-tier in terms of value among Hong's collection.
After "plundering" Hong's treasure house, Ye Yun didn't stay at the headquarters of the Extreme Martial Arts School. After a brief chat with Gu Ye, he took "A Da" and returned to Jiangnan Base City.
