Chapter 02
I clutched my burning eyes and collapsed.
[Chaotic eye is activated.]
“Ugh.”
It felt like someone was trying to tear out my eyes.
After some time, when the pain in my eyes subsided, my heart began to ache.
[Dragon Heart is activated.]
[The body is being reconstructed to its optimal state.]
“—!”
An alien energy spread from my heart, causing my entire body to creak and twist.
All I could do was scream, as I had no control over my body.
[Authority is activated.]
As I trembled and shook in exhaustion, strange patterns appeared on my body, glowing before gradually fading into my skin.
Huh. Haah.
“I’m… dying.”
I gritted my teeth and endured the pain, determined not to lose consciousness.
After the process was complete, I waited for a while, and soon felt a surge of vitality in my body.
I stood up, feeling the changes in my body.
“My vision is so clear. Has my eyesight improved? No, it’s not just that. It feels like my eyes have been replaced with something else.”
Is this what it’s like for a Mongolian with 6.0 vision to see? The darkness that had enveloped my vision was gone, and I could see far beyond.
As I focused, I noticed something glowing in the distance, like a portal.
I looked around for any other changes.
“Ugh. What’s this smell?”
I looked around and saw waste products coming out of my body, along with pieces of skin scattered here and there, like a snake shedding its skin.
I quickly examined myself and found that my rough, tanned skin had turned white and smooth.
My body, which had been toned through hard work at a small company and the gym, felt rearranged in a more functional way.
“Why am I naked? Did my clothes disappear along with the transformation?”
I had nothing to wear, so was I supposed to walk around naked?
[Chaos is shocked that a human is taller than an orc.]
‘That’s right. I’m not alone! And… I need something to cover myself with, not just look at it.’
I didn’t expect my body to grow so much during the transformation.
“Is there anything I can wear?”
[Chaos says that transfer is impossible, and you should stay naked for now.]
Damn… But my opponents aren’t human either. I’ll put aside my shame for now.
“I can’t help it. I’ve confirmed the changes in my body. What’s next?”
[Chaos says to try calling out the status window.]
Status window?

“Is this the status window? The gods have created a system-like rule, using the game as bait to summon people. Do I have to create a new name for myself here?”
[Chaos says yes.]
“EX usually means out of the ordinary or the highest rank. Is this normal, considering the huge amount of Karma I paid?”
[Chaos says there are no problems with the summoner’s status window.]
[Chaos suggests that you can view the traits by thinking about them.]
Okay… Let’s start with Chaotic eye.
________________________________________
[Chaotic eye] [P]
Chaos, which appeared between the light and darkness of the beginning, lends a small portion of its absolute gaze to the user’s eyes.
• Greatly enhances all eye-related functions.
•
• Can view the status window depending on the opponent’s level.
•
• Can see things that are usually invisible.
•
• Invalidates mental attacks below the user’s magic level.
•
________________________________________
‘Wait a minute. Does having EX magic make me immune to most mental attacks?’
________________________________________
[Dragon Heart] [P]
The blood of the Chaos Dragon has faintly seeped into the heart of an ordinary human. Just the blood flowing through the body is enough to constantly replenish magic power.
• Magic level is fixed at EX.
•
• Magic never runs out as long as the heart is intact.
•
• However, the operation and output of magic power are proportional to the average of the total body ratings.
•
• Each body rating increases by one level.
•
• As a side effect of having incompatible blood, luck decreases by one level, and very rarely, misfortune occurs.
•

It turned out that these two traits worked together to create an incredible synergy.
Were these traits chosen by the gods? Or were they purely random?
I carefully asked Chaos.
“Did you, the god, decide which traits to give me, or did you set them when I paid the Karma?”
[Chaos says no.]
[Chaos explains that random traits related to each god are chosen based on the paid Karma, and the god applies them.]
The Karma I paid was large, but even considering that, it seems I got lucky.
[Chaos says that while it can tune and apply the traits, it takes pride in the blood it has given.]
‘So, the being I’m communicating with is a dragon? It makes sense that the god I call master wouldn’t be ordinary.’
“By the way, calling you ‘god’ or ‘goddess’ feels strange. Now that we’re in this together, I don’t know how to address you.”
[Chaos says it’s fine to call her Ceres.]
“I understand, Lord Ceres.”
[Chaos protested, saying she feels wronged for adding ‘Lord’ part..]
Hmm… Anyway, let’s look at the rest.
________________________________________
[Weak Authority] [P]
A small portion of Chaos, which absorbs light and darkness, has been transformed into authority.
• Rarely absorbs random positive traits from defeated enemies.
•
• Slightly increases resistance to divine and dark magic.
•

This trait is also growth-oriented.
________________________________________
[One Language] [P]
A basic ability provided by the gods for summoners.
• Most communication problems, including reading, writing, and speaking, are resolved.

Fortunately, I won’t have any communication problems.
‘It feels like I’m a growth-oriented character in a game, focusing on divine and magic abilities. But I need to pay attention to physical abilities as well, as my overall combat power will be mediocre otherwise.’
In other words, a job that relies solely on magic from the back, like a glass cannon, isn’t suitable for me.
Just in case, I asked Chaos.
“Do you know anything about how to use magic power?”
[Chaos says that the first step is to feel the magic power.]
I couldn’t feel any magic power, even though the trait said that it would never run out.
“Ugh.”
I focused so hard that I felt the blood rushing to my head, but it seemed impossible at the moment, so I gave up.
“Damn it. I felt something spreading from my heart when my body was in pain. Why can’t I feel anything now?”
[Chaos says that a trigger may be needed and suggests that I should leave the unstable rift soon.]
“Okay. Should I head towards the light in the distance?”
Even before opening my Chaotic Eye, I could see the portal-like space. That must be the exit.
[Chaos says that I will probably fall into the first floor of the Great Labyrinth and advises me to be prepared.]
As I listened to Chaos’ advice, I walked towards the exit.
As I stood before the portal, which seemed to distort space, the tension I felt overshadowed my determination to survive and thrive.
Could I escape the first floor without any weapons, naked and unarmed?
I had no weapons to wield against the monsters, and I couldn’t even use magic like a fireball.
“Huff, I can do this. The traits I received are obviously overpowered. Thanks to them, my body feels light and optimized.”
[Chaos says that I shouldn’t worry about my current stats when facing first-floor monsters.]
“Right. If I don’t have a weapon, I’ll just punch and kick them. If I don’t have teeth, I’ll bite them with my gums!”
Ever since I was transported here, I’ve been talking to myself a lot.
Ignoring the trembling, I clenched my fist and took a powerful step forward.
Zing!
[Misfortune covers the user.]

“Ugh.”
I feel nauseous. Is it because this is my first time using a portal? I feel heavy and dizzy, so I sit down and catch my breath.
“Huff, is this the first floor? Do I have to endure this feeling every time I move in the Great Labyrinth?”
What’s going on? Chaos usually responds immediately to my questions, but now it’s silent.
Feeling something strange, I stand up and look around.
A lush forest. Bright sunlight shines through the dense bushes and trees.
‘I imagined a dark place, but it seems like each floor of the Great Labyrinth is a completely different space.’
As I tried to push through the branches,
[Chaos is overwhelmed and can’t speak.]
What?
[Chaos says this isn’t the first floor.]
“Then… where are we?”
[Chaos says this is the third floor and urges me to hide immediately.]
Damn it.
As soon as I heard this, I quickly hid in the dense bushes nearby.
Sharp leaves scratched my body, but thankfully, my endurance ability prevented any injuries.
‘Chaos, can you hear me?’
[Chaos says that it can barely hear me when I speak in my mind, but it’s not the time to be picky.]
So, it can hear me after all?
[Chaos thinks that the ‘very rare misfortune’ from Dragon Heart is the cause and bites its lip.]
Right! I think I saw a window with that information when I entered the portal.
But… ‘very rare’ doesn’t mean it’s likely to happen right away, does it?
[Chaos comforts me by saying that I won’t have to worry about it for a long time after I get through this crisis.]
‘So, what should I do now? Do you think I can survive on the third floor with my current abilities?’
[Chaos says that while ordinary goblins might be manageable, goblin shamans and chieftain hobgoblins are too strong to fight alone without magic.]
Damn it. That damn magic power. Magic!
Where is the unending magic power that I’m supposed to have? I can’t feel even a fraction of it!
As I was consumed by anger,
Sasaak.
I heard the sound of bushes being pushed aside, and something was approaching.
It was too late to run.
I prepared to fight if necessary and took a stance.
“Keruk.”
Soon, a monster that looked like a goblin emerged from the bushes.
As soon as the goblin saw me, it quickly ran towards me, using its small stature to move swiftly.
“Kerrrruk!”
I was startled for a moment, but then I focused on dodging its attack.
The goblin’s swinging arm, which was about to scratch me, seemed to move in slow motion.
As the world slowed down, a red trail appeared.
‘It’s the Chaotic Eye!’
I instinctively realized that it was thanks to my trait. I quickly turned my body.
“Kreeeuuk?”
I watched as the goblin tumbled past me, confused. The world returned to normal speed.
Now!
The goblin was still off-balance, so I quickly ran towards it and stomped on its back.
It screamed and tried to escape, but it was no use. I punched its head several times.
At some point, the goblin stopped moving, but I kept hitting it until it was a bloody mess before I could finally stop.
“Huff. Haah. Haah.”
I caught my breath for a moment, then calmed down and composed myself.
[Chaos says that aside from being a little excited, your first fight was impressive.]
Chaos praised me, but I didn’t have the energy to care.
‘I feel like I understand something.’
When I was punching the goblin to death,
I felt something strange, almost like an otherworldly force, passing through my body, as if it was trying to grab me.
I carefully told this to Chaos, and it immediately responded.
[Chaos says that most monsters have at least a small amount of magic power, and I might be able to sense it if I hunt more.]
Good!
“Then, as Chaos suggested, let’s hunt more monsters. With my eyes, I think I can handle goblins.”
Oops! In my excitement, I spoke aloud to Chaos, but then I realized my mistake.
Sasaak. Charuruk.
Hearing the sound, a group of goblins pushed through the bushes and approached.
‘Good. Let’s see who wins.’
My first goal is magic power.
I’ve found a clue, and I will definitely make it mine.
Before the goblins reached me, I shook off my trembling hands and charged towards them.
