Survive! Foolish Bottom!

Chapter 8

“What did you say?”

Haeun was worried that his usual snarky tone had slipped out unintentionally, but upon reflecting on his words, they didn’t sound as insolent as he feared. Instead, his voice seemed to genuinely convey that he didn’t understand, almost as if he felt sorry for not catching his meaning.

How could this body, housing his mind, naturally express such innocent assertiveness?

“Never mind. Well, at least you haven’t completely lost your mind.”

It wasn’t that he didn’t understand. He had clearly asked, “Did you improve?”

It was absurd how he could just wipe away his words and put on a cold expression as if nothing had happened, but he didn’t have time to ponder on the absurdity.

“Haeun ah.”

The light tap on his shoulder came from Il-hyun, the leader. When Haeun turned around, he spoke gently.

“Let’s go down.”

“Oh… Uh, okay.”

He wasn’t even aware of his own dumbfounded reaction. Overwhelmed by the exhilaration, Haeun had completely forgotten about the mess he had caused earlier.

After coming down the stage, he felt like he was returning to his senses a little.

Il-hyun quickly moved away from Park Haeun’s side to take care of his surroundings. Park Haeun, who was new to the stage, averted his eyes desperately to avoid being confused.

Then, his eyes met with Junwoo’s. He already stood out because he had brightly bleached blonde hair, but it was harder not to notice when he even stared at this side.

‘Why is he staring at me like that?’

Even though their eyes met, Junwoo didn’t look away first. If he had shown any negative emotion, Haeun would have gladly engaged in a staring contest, but Junwoo’s expression was unreadable. Haeun, needing to maintain his image, had to hold himself back.

Then, this time, a low voice came behind his back.

“Yah.”

It was Seong-jae. His voice was quiet and lowered, as if trying not to be heard by people around them. Being so close, the sound sent chills down Haeun’s spine.

He almost reacted instinctively with his hand. Instead, he managed to restrain himself by shrugging his shoulders and responded while looking straight ahead.

“What?”

“You were a bit…”

As soon as the conversation started, Junwoo’s gaze turned elsewhere. Haeun, feeling slightly uneasy, frowned and turned to meet Seongjae’s eyes.

“A bit what today?”

“Park Ha, you!”

But before he continued, the angry-faced manager stepped in. Park Haeun recalled what he had done only after seeing the unusual expression on his manager’s face.

“What were you thinking when you did it?”

The CEO spoke with a serious expression. Haeun had been immediately summoned to the company and called into the CEO’s office. In the office were both the CEO and Director Kim Miji.

Director Kim Miji was the mastermind behind their comeback album. The company, to which Haeun’s group
