Chapter 37: Chapter 37 - Scheme
"I-I believe, I believe! Please, if you're not satisfied, I'll cut off my other arm too!" Wei Wu's voice was frantic, his eyes wide with terror as he writhed in agony.
Chen Yinyin's disgust was palpable. She felt her rage rising as she looked down at him. "You disgusting thing."
With a swift movement, she brought her sword down once more. This time, the blade cleaved cleanly through Wei Wu's neck, and his head tumbled from his shoulders, rolling to the ground with a thud.
His body collapsed lifelessly to the earth, his final scream still echoing in the air.
Her expression remained stoic as she turned away from the gruesome scene, her gaze now focused on the Nascent Soul elder who had remained a threat.
The elder, his face pale with fear, could hardly stand to witness his companion's end.
"Master, there's one more person I want to kill," Chen Yinyin said.
Xie Ren, watching the scene unfold, knew that Chen Yinyin was far from done. Her fury was far too great to simply stop at Wei Wu. He nodded, allowing her to handle her vengeance.
"Do as you wish,"
Chen Yinyin drew her sword once again and stepped toward the Nascent Soul elder.
She plunged the blade directly into the elder's chest. His eyes widened in shock as blood spurted from the wound, but his body remained standing for a moment longer before crumbling to the ground, lifeless.
In that instance, a white ball rose from the lifeless body and swooshed away in an attempt to escape.
"Master, don't let his Nascent Soul escape!" Chen Yinyin said, panic flashing in her eyes. Though her cultivation was high, she knew she wasn't strong enough to prevent the escape of a Nascent Soul.
Xie Ren, unfazed by the urgency in her voice, stretched out his hand. His fingers curled as if grasping an invisible force.
"Don't worry," he said. "He won't escape."
With a simple motion, the elder's Nascent Soul, on the verge of fleeing, was crushed in a split second. The energy that had once been a powerful force was obliterated, reduced to nothingness.
"Thank you, Master," she whispered, her voice soft, filled with gratitude.
She paused for a moment, then glanced toward her family, still lying on the ground, some of them gravely wounded. Her eyes softened, worry creeping into her heart. "Master, my people… they're hurt. Some of them badly. Do you have any way to heal them?"
"Don't worry. I have something that will help."
With a wave of his hand, he retrieved three bottles of Healing Elixir he had just bought from the system shop.
He handed the bottles to Chen Yinyin. "Yinyin, give this to everyone. A single drop will heal most of the injuries. For your parents, give them a whole bowl."
Chen Yinyin wasted no time. She rushed to her family, distributing the healing elixir with trembling hands. One by one, her family members took the elixir, and their wounds began to heal almost immediately. The color returned to their faces, and their breathing grew steadier.
As she watched their conditions improve, Chen Yinyin finally exhaled the breath she had been holding. Her heart lightened, the weight of guilt lifting from her shoulders.
She then turned to Xie Ren. "Master, I want to go wipe out the Profound Purity Sect. They have crossed the line by involving my family."
Xie Ren simply gave a thoughtful "Hm," nodding slightly in acknowledgment.
Before she could speak further, her father's voice rang out from behind.
"Let us come with you," he said firmly. Her father and grandfather, both stood with their backs straight in readiness.
"Father, grandfather…" Chen Yinyin began, concern evident in her voice, "You two should focus on recovering. I'll go myself."
"Yinyin, no need to wait for me to recover. We'll go destroy them today. Of course," he added with a wry smile, "we'll just be in the back, cheering you on!"
Unable to argue with him, she turned toward her master, seeking his guidance. But Xie Ren, ever calm, simply nodded.
With a sharp nod, Chen Yinyin's determination flared. Turning to her family, she gritted her teeth and spoke. "Today, we're going to chop those bastards from the Profound Purity Sect into pieces!"
The words hung in the air like a battle cry as they made their way toward the gates of the Profound Purity Sect.
Upon arrival, Chen Yinyin wasted no time. With a swift motion, she swung her large saber with all her might.
The saber shattered the Sect's plaque in a single stroke, and the disciples guarding the gate barely had time to react before they were sliced apart, their screams cut short in an instant.
A sharp voice echoed from inside the gates. "Who dares to break into my Profound Purity Sect and harm my disciples?"
In an instant, five figures shot out from within the Sect, soaring through the air on their swords.
At the front was Grand Ming, the Sect Leader, adorned in a golden robe that shimmered in the light. His eyes immediately locked onto the Chen family members standing at the forefront of the chaos.
He saw Chen Yan and Chen Wen, his eyes narrowing in recognition. Both were well-known Golden Core experts in Empyrean Cloud City, it was hard for him not recognized them.
But then his eyes fell on Chen Yan. The once-mighty figure, now reduced to a disabled man with his arms severed, made Ming scoff.
"Chen Yan…" he sneered, "You're no longer a threat. But I see your father, Chen Wen, still has some fight left in him. Tell me, Brother Chen, what does this mean? What is your family doing here?"
Chen Yan stepped forward, his gaze dark with fury. His voice was filled with contempt as he glared at Ming. "Ming, you deceitful snake. How dare you ask us what this means? I ask you, how dare you collude with the Mystic Frost Sect to wipe my Chen family."
"What does brother Wen mean?" Grand Ming asked as if unaware. "I'm not involve in anything related to Mystic Frost Sect."
"Don't act clueless!"
