Chapter 96: Steve, Shield, Animal Warriors
"How many people?" Diana's eyebrows raised slightly, the fighting spirit in her body starting to surge, her eyes gleaming as she looked at Robert and asked.
Clearly, Diana not only didn't agree to Robert's condition, but she even seemed to want to take more than one opponent, reminding Robert of Kara who promised not to steal kills…
"Five people in total…" Robert sighed helplessly, whispering.
"Good! Leave two for me!" Diana didn't overreach, settling on a number of enemies that Robert could barely accept, then walked towards Steve, whispering something to the artist who was painting.
"Hmm? The talisman?" Steve's paintbrush paused, he instinctively touched his chest, where the Pig Talisman hung around his neck.
"Didn't expect this little thing to cause such a commotion, looks like the exhibition needs a pause…" After coming back to his senses, Steve shook his head, looked around at his fans and visitors, took a deep breath, and announced loudly.
"Sorry, something came up at home, today's exhibition needs to be temporarily closed. We will notify everyone of the reopening time, sorry for making you all come for nothing…"
"Steve, when will the new comic story be released? Is it going to be delayed too?"
"No problem, Steve, go ahead, don't worry about us…"
"Take care of your health, Steve!"
Although the fans were very concerned about the follow-up comic story, they left the exhibition orderly under the staff's guidance.
"So, you're also here for the talisman?" Steve looked at Robert and the others coming over, nodded, and despite asking, his voice was very certain.
"Right, we're external members of Section 13, coming from America for the talisman…" Jackie Chan shook hands with Steve, showing his credentials before looking at Steve and whispering, "I don't know if you've developed the talisman's abilities, but it's indeed an extraordinary item. Section 13 has been trying to secure this item."
"Section 13?" Steve raised his eyebrows, then smiled, "Is it a newly established department? I haven't heard of it before. By the way, have you heard of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division? I remember they also handle extraordinary events…"
"There are many such departments, those guys are almost here. If you don't want to hand over the talisman, then lead us to a deserted place, otherwise, it might get messy here…" Robert thought of the SHIELD affair and shook his head, looking at Steve seriously, "Of course, if you're willing to hand over the talisman, you can leave now. We'll draw the enemies away!"
"Although I'm an old bone, I'd still like to see the excitement, let's go, I know a place that's been abandoned for a long time. I'll lead the way…" Steve smiled, straightening his back, his entire demeanor changing, Robert could clearly feel a youthful vigor returning to Steve.
"This is a battle-hardened warrior!" A glint flashed in Robert's eyes, watching Steve pack up and lead the way, thinking, "It's a pity, he's a bit too old, and obviously hasn't maintained himself as well as Mrs. Gao…"
"Moved? Were we discovered? Hurry up!" Baron Strucker's side also received the news of the Pig Talisman's movement, quickly sending those animal warriors to chase after Robert and the others, arriving near an abandoned residential building.
Robert keenly noticed several targets and dummies on the ground nearby, along with some training equipment, it seemed this might be one of Steve's secret bases.
"It's been a long time since I've truly fought, not sure if I still can. Had I known, I would've handed over the talisman and not kept it for comic ideas…" Upon arriving, Steve opened his backpack, took out a circular shield, and murmured.
"Hmm? Captain America?" Jackie Chan paused upon seeing the shield's design, asking Steve with some hesitation.
"Oh, I'm a fan of his, grew up listening to his stories, so I made a similar shield…" Steve smiled at Jackie Chan, explaining, then turned to Xiaoyu, "By the way, does Section 13 always bring kids along for missions?"
"Humph! Don't underestimate me, you might not be my match!" Xiaoyu huffed unhappily.
"Alright, then let's see your performance later, looks like our enemies have arrived…" Steve smiled warmly at Xiaoyu, his gaze shifting to the direction outside the ruins, where five men of varying heights and builds stared at them with fanatic gleam in their eyes.
"Looks like we have five people, one for each, huh?" Steve secured his shield, looking at the five men and asked with a smile.
"No need, Diana and I will each take on two enemies, the remaining one is for you to deal with. Be careful, these guys are not simple! Their Qi is very strong! Don't hesitate to use the talisman when necessary!" Robert charged out first, his Qi bursting forth, reverting to his original appearance.
"Buzz!" Diana also transformed, her divine shield and Sword of Hephaestus ready, sharing Robert's excitement as they rushed towards the enemies.
"Uh… am I outdated?" Watching Robert and Diana change outfits and charge out, Steve paused, then looked at Jackie Chan and Xiaoyu, asking, "You guys can't do that too, right?"
"Don't worry, we can't… Holy cow!?" Jackie Chan waved his hand, suddenly exclaiming in shock.
"Watch your language! Oh my f…." Steve instinctively scolded Jackie Chan, then widened his eyes, barely stopping himself from continuing.
"Uncle Long, I'm still here, no swearing… My god?!" Xiaoyu also glared at Jackie Chan, then similarly stared in astonishment towards Robert's direction.
The five men transformed into grotesque forms as Robert and Diana approached, tearing their clothes and evolving into beast forms. The sight left Steve, Jackie Chan, and Xiaoyu stunned.
Soon, horrifying figures of a dinosaur person, crocodile person, gorilla person, minotaur, and tiger person appeared before Robert and Diana, exuding fierce auras, their eyes blood-red and filled with madness.
"This dinosaur and gorilla are mine!" But their fierce appearances didn't intimidate Robert; instead, they excited him even more. He shouted, charging at the dinosaur and gorilla persons first.
Robert also harbored some hope; although these weren't real dinosaurs, finding actual dinosaurs through them would be great…
