Supergene: I'll be the strongest

Chapter 4: Deal and sunset slope

"Brother, did you really take down all those swift mantises yourself?" Su Xiaoqiao exclaimed, his eyes wide with a mix of admiration and disbelief as he scanned the area, noting that the only figure in sight was the one clad in golden armor.

"Want some?" I replied with a grin, even though my smile was concealed by the helmet. "A thousand levo dollars each," I added, my tone playfully teasing as I showcased my haul. With precision, I set aside three swift mantises for my own geno point upgrade—a necessary step for enhancing my abilities. The remaining victims of my prowess were quickly organized for sale, trading them under the recognizable currency name, 'dollar.'

"By the way," I continued, eager to break the ice after this little business transaction, "what's your name? I go by Dollar." I introduced myself, hoping to establish a friendly rapport.

The guy seemed a bit flustered by my presence, a faint flush creeping onto his cheeks. "Oh, my apologies for not introducing myself earlier. I'm Su Xiaoqiao," he said, his demeanor shifting from surprise to a more relaxed friendliness. "For the bodies, I can offer you 250K and even throw in a beast soul." With that, he rummaged through his pack and pulled out a hefty roll of cash, counting meticulously through the bills before finally handing me twenty-five crisp 10k Levo Dollar bills. The rustling of money added a layer of excitement to our exchange, making the deal feel almost electric.

I gazed at the stack of cash cradled in his armored hand, my eyes widening in astonishment. It was a surreal moment, bordering on disbelief. This was the kind of luck that would make even the original Han Sen envious of interacting with a rich young master who had probably never witnessed a day without gold in his pocket. The kind of wealth that could fund extravagant adventures or obscure even the most reckless decisions.

"I'll admit, Xiaoqiao," he started, his voice smooth yet tinged with urgency, "I've been searching for a discreet avenue to sell off the treasure trove of beast souls I've amassed without attracting unwanted attention. My armor makes this hunting ground feel like a sanctuary -safe and plentiful. I've spent countless hours here, cultivating my collection, and let me tell you, the beast souls I've gathered are quite formidable. If you possess the kind of financial flexibility to pull out 250k on the spot like it's pocket change, then it's clear you've got enough backing to comfortably handle the kind of attention that comes from liquidating such valuable assets. How about we strike a deal?"

Su Xiaoqiao paused, curiosity flickering across his face like candlelight. "What kind of deal are you proposing?" he inquired, his intrigue evident in the way he leaned slightly forward, eager to hear more.

"I'm not one for the limelight. At least, I prefer to bask in the shadows as much as possible, maintaining my anonymity to safeguard myself from any potential backlash. You see, I often venture into perilous, uncharted territories to hunt for others, which means the goods I stumble upon are far from ordinary. If you could step into the role of my broker, acting as the intermediary between my prized beast souls and the eager buyers, I would be willing to sell through you exclusively. You'll be the one to reap the rewards while I remain comfortably in the shadows, safe from prying eyes."

As the implications of the deal hung in the air, the thrill of the potential partnership crackled like static electricity. It was a convoluted dance of risk and reward, a labyrinthine venture into the heart of the underground market where fortunes could be made or lost with a single transaction.

I had expected a full-on negotiation, but Su Xiaoqiao practically leapt at the offer. And within minutes I had the means to contact the guy both in the sanctuary and back in alliance space. With the agreement in place. I handed over thirty-one of the swift mantis beast souls that he had acquired from his hunt. Su Xiaoqiao's eyes seemed like they were going to explode from the shock of suddenlybi given so many beast souls.

Between the two of us, we they agreed on a dead drop location where Su Xiaoqiao would deposit the money from selling the beast souls at auction, minus a 5% commission. And with a few more words exchanged, I headed out with three of the corpses and a still live, though limbless, swift mantis.

I beelined it straight back to the shelter, the only detour he took was to deactivate his black beetle armor in place where no one could see him so that he would remain inconspicuous. Once in the shelter he bought another cage and hauled it to his room before setting the live mantis in the cage and feeding it the black crystal.

He went to the street of the shelter after two days, in these towo days he went to Allaince and completed the matter related to his old house and property with the help of Uncle Zheng.

Today the street seemed to be a lot less crowded than usual. I walked past the plaza and found fewer stalls ther than usual as well. "what's going on?"

People were all whispering somthing to each other. I listen to it for a while and finally found out. It's about that sacred blood Creature hear the sunset slope. "danm, How did I forgot that, once this is over I have to check all event through System."

After he ran out of the city. When there was no one around, he Summoned the Golden armour, After he ran in the direction of Sunset Slope. After running for two hours, he came to a Stone hill west of Sunset Slope.

After two long days of dealing with the complexities of his old house and property, he finally returned to the familiar street near the shelter, thanks to the invaluable assistance of Uncle Zheng in Alliance. With matters resolved, a sense of relief washed over him, but as he stepped onto the street, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.

Today, the street bore a stark contrast to its usual buzz. As I ambled past the plaza, I was struck by the sight of significantly fewer stalls than I had grown accustomed to. It felt eerily quiet, the vibrant energy that typically filled the air replaced with a tense hush. "What on earth is going on?" I couldn't help but wonder, my curiosity piqued.

As I continued to walk, I noticed clusters of people huddled together, whispers flitting between them like sparks in the night. Feeling the weight of their anxiety, I leaned in, straining to listen, and gradually pieced together the fragments of conversation. The streets were abuzz with news about a sacred blood creature that had been spotted at the infamous Sunset Slope. "Damn," I muttered to myself. "How did I manage to forget that? Once this is all over, I need to make it a priority to check every event through the System before stepping outside."

With the urgency of the situation simmering in the back of my mind, he left the confines of the city, a mix of determination and trepidation coursing through him. He summoned the Golden Armor, a relic imbued with immense power, before setting his sights on the Sunset Slope. After what felt like an eternity, he sprinted for two hours, each step pounding against the earth, until at last he reached a solitary stone hill, rising majestically to the west of the Sunset Slope. The hill stood like a silent sentinel, overlooking the unfolding events, and he could feel the tensions in the air crackling with anticipation.
