Chapter 254 - 254 Tian Xun
Chapter 254: Chapter 254 Tian Xun
Ximen Swordsman’s gaze slightly condensed. Giant Ring Star was the territory of the Celestials, and if one were to offend a Celestial here, no one knew what the consequences would be.
He looked at Lin Shen, wanting to know how Lin Shen would handle the current situation.
Lin Shen stared at the Celestial as if he had been startled and didn’t know how to deal with the situation for a moment.
“Human, I’m talking to you, didn’t you hear me?” The Celestial woman slightly furrowed her brows, already somewhat dissatisfied with Lin Shen’s rude behavior of staring at her continuously.
“A thousand Heavenly Currency cannot buy my Pet Capsule,” Lin Shen spoke out.
The reason he was staring at the Celestial woman wasn’t because he was scared or had any other ulterior motives; it was because he simply couldn’t see clearly what the Celestial woman looked like. He only saw a mosaic.
For Lin Shen, the Celestial woman wrapped in mosaic was more attractive than any peerless beauty.
“Actually having a living person with a Fire Seed, and moreover, a member of the Celestial Race, could the Fire Seed on her be related to the Heaven Defying Bone? Or is it another completely new type of Fire Seed?” From the moment he saw the Celestial woman, countless thoughts had flashed through Lin Shen’s mind.
This was the first time he had found a Fire Seed outside of his home planet, and it was on a living person, which forced Lin Shen to overturn his previous conjecture that Fire Seeds existed outside of his home planet as well.
“Two thousand,” the Celestial woman actually doubled the price.
This move made Lin Shen realize that Celestials were capable of communication, at least the one in front of him, the Celestial woman who didn’t directly use force to snatch it away.
“Sorry, this Pet Capsule holds a special meaning for me; no matter the price, I will not sell it,” Lin Shen shook his head and said again.
Seeing Lin Shen refuse, Ximen Swordsman nodded to himself, feeling that Lin Shen still had some backbone.
“Four thousand,” the Celestial woman continued to raise the price as if she hadn’t heard him.
“As I’ve said before, no matter the amount, even if it were forty thousand or four hundred thousand, I would not sell it. To me, it is no different from a relative. Would you sell your own relatives?” Lin Shen said calmly.
Ximen Swordsman saw the Celestial woman furrow her brows and couldn’t help but relax his fists.
Others tense up their fists when preparing to fight, while it’s the opposite for Ximen Swordsman; he opens his clenched hand and tries to relax as much as possible.
“However, if you want it, I can gift it to you.” Since Lin Shen couldn’t see the Celestial woman’s expression, he didn’t wait for her reaction and continued to speak.
This statement, however, made both Ximen Swordsman and the Celestial woman pause.
“It seems that you know who I am,” the corners of the Celestial woman’s mouth revealed a faint smile.
“If you’re willing to tell me your name, then I’ll know who you are from now on,” Lin Shen said with a smile.
“You don’t recognize me?” the Celestial woman was somewhat surprised.
“I would like to get to know you,” Lin Shen said.
“If you don’t recognize me, why would you want to give the Pet Capsule to me?” the Celestial woman looked at Lin Shen with interest.
She was wondering whether Lin Shen truly didn’t recognize her or was pretentiously claiming ignorance.
“Do you want to hear the truth or a lie?” Lin Shen countered instead of answering.
“A lie,” the Celestial woman’s smile faded. She had seen too many such tactics, and she had no interest in such men.
In fact, she had already guessed that Lin Shen would next compliment her on her beauty, and when she would ask Lin Shen what the truth was, he would say she was even more beautiful.
“I want to marry you,” Lin Shen’s answer made the Celestial woman pause, as it wasn’t quite what she had expected.
“Is that the truth?” the Celestial woman asked, blinking.
“The truth is a bit offensive, so I’d better not say it,” Lin Shen said as he recalled the Evil Dragon back into its capsule form and tossed it to the Celestial woman: “The pet is for you. Can you tell me your name?”
“As punishment for the offense, I cannot,” she caught the Pet Capsule, a sly smile playing on her lips, then drove off in her flyer.
Lin Shen watched the Celestial woman depart, feeling no regret for giving away the Evil Dragon.
Compared to the Fire Seed on the woman, what was an Evil Dragon pet? It was an investment that would pay off later.
“It seems your effort was in vain,” Ximen Swordsman said with a sneer.
Ximen Swordsman had originally thought highly of Lin Shen, but Lin Shen’s actions today had somewhat lessened his respect.
A man could be bad, cheap, or ruthless, but he shouldn’t grovel—that was Ximen Swordsman’s principle.
“Not entirely in vain, I suppose. At least now she holds no malice towards us, which will facilitate future contact.” Lin Shen hadn’t even considered that angle. His mind was preoccupied with how to obtain the Fire Seed from the Celestial woman.
“Is the Fire Seed on her one-tenth of a Heaven Defying Bone? I wonder how strong she is, whether Base Mutated or Ascended? Is there a chance to tie her up and have a sleep?” Lin Shen pondered all possibilities.
“Dream on, Celestials are a Powerful Cosmic Race, and humans are no different from pets or slaves in their eyes,” Ximen Swordsman said before turning to walk away, no longer paying attention to Lin Shen.
Lin Shen knew he could take care of himself, so he didn’t bother further. He checked the map and headed in a different direction.
Ximen Swordsman was right; it was normal for the Celestial Race to look down on humans. Under normal circumstances, getting this Celestial woman to sleep with him would be impossible.
The most effective method would still be to capture her. However, he needed to find out the woman’s identity and strength first to avoid serious trouble.
The Celestial woman liked pets. Lin Shen planned to find out more about her, then use other pets as bait to find an opportunity.
Considering she showed interest in a Crystal Base Level pet, it seemed unlikely her rank was very high.
With this initial interaction, she probably wouldn’t be too wary of him. With a good plan, finding a chance for them to be alone shouldn’t be difficult.
Of course, the precondition was that capturing the Celestial woman wouldn’t bring too much trouble. He didn’t know how much longer he’d have to stay on Giant Ring Star and couldn’t afford to be without a foothold there.
Losing the Evil Dragon was partially due to that consideration; offending a Celestial right after arriving would likely make his future life difficult.
Lin Shen planned to scope out the nearby situation first and hunt some Base Variant Creatures to settle his debt with Yu.
The Celestial woman flew straight to the small village where Lin Shen lived in her flyer.
“Lord Tian Xun, what brings you here in person?” Yu was taken aback upon seeing the Celestial woman in the flyer and hurriedly performed a Celestial salute.
“Have there been any newcomers here recently?” Tian Xun fiddled with the Pet Capsule in her hand, casually asking.
“Yes, Lord, three new people arrived, two men and one woman…” Yu dare not conceal anything and relayed detailed information about Lin Shen and his two companions.
Yu was inwardly baffled—why would someone like Lord Tian Xun personally come to such a place to inquire about three newcomers?
It was as if a sovereign had ventured into a remote slum to ask about a few paupers.
