Struggling as a Villain

It has been one week since Richard found out that he was going to be a father.

Between Amelia and the training, he has been quite restless. Working and taking care of her had kept him busy. And that was something which many noticed.

Richard was in charge of training the Apostles of darkness, and the main strike force who would be participating in the war under his command.

Three shifts of training before returning to Amelia.

However, not even once did Richard complain or show how tired he was.

Everyone else also was quite cooperative and helped the duo as much as they could.

Bellarine mostly remains present around Amelia, along with Lilia and Violet, who were taking care of her. And thanks to their presence, Richard could leave Amelia without any worries.

Now, another five days remain before the ultimate day arrives.

"How does it feel?" Richard asked as he caressed Amelia's head, once she finished drinking the essence made out of Richard's flames.

To nourish the child it was important for Richard to continuously pour his essence into Amelia's womb. Naturally, having intercourse in such a condition was impossible so Amelia had to drink the burning lava created from Richard's flames.

It was painful to just look at the girl consuming the lava. However, not even once she complained.

Tears flowed down her eyes, but she never separated the bowl from her lips.

The thought of nourishing her and Richard's child gave her the courage. And the love and warmth Richard showered her with, was the motivation she needed to finish drinking the essence as soon as she could.

"I am fine…just always tired…" Amelia muttered as she leaned her head on his chest.

Her face always seemed pale and her breathing mostly remained rough. Even while she is sleeping, someone always monitors her in case she faints or something happens to the baby.

"You are a very brave girl, Amelia." Bellarine praised the little girl who despite not even at the age of bearing a child, was showing such a bold front.

At her time, Bellarine cried and fainted often. The only thing that kept her going was Richard, who often made movement in her belly, making her feel his presence.

"You have gained my respect too, Amelia. The first time I saw you, I felt you would be nothing but a spoiled girl." Bella added, relaying her honest thoughts.

"However, now, my thoughts have completely shifted."

Amelia smiled at the raven-haired as she said, "At least, this made me accepted by my sister-in-law."

"Not only her, but each one of us has accepted you as Richard's first wife. You deserve it." Rena added, and the other women nodded in assent.

Surprisingly, until a few days ago, the very thought of someone else claiming the position of his first wife bothered each one of them—some hid it well, and some just outrightly expressed it.

However, now, after witnessing the girl going through the hardest day of her life they knew why their beloved fell for the girl.

She is a very strong person.

"Lady Amelia, the very fact you never showed reluctance or suggested not having the baby made Richard feel both proud and happy." Lilia suddenly spoke, surprising Amelia.

"Really…dear? You never told me…" Amelia asked.

Richard heaved a sigh, "Well, I have lived for longer than what appears so naturally, I also wanted to have a child and a family."

Bellarine chuckled, "I apologize for that, Amelia..my son can be shy about some of the strangest things."

"True," Emily added, eliciting laughter from everyone.

However, the happy atmosphere soon broke, when suddenly Richard received a call.

"Hmm?" It was from Lena.

"Excuse me," Richard stepped out of the room, to not make Amelia anxious. Since he knew if Lena had called, it must be some kind of emergency.

Once he was out, he picked up the call, "Yeah?"

[We have a situation. Our northern base is attacked by the Asian Alliance...and without the Commander, it's getting difficult to handle them.]

Richard frowned, "All of a sudden? How is this…"

[It seems they have been tracking our movement. Just when you all were out of Vegas they attacked us.]

Richard clicked his tongue; those bastards.

He knew that the Asian Alliance wouldn't remain silent after Crimson Claw's demise.

The way they had been silently operating for so long was already a massive red flag. However, Richard didn't do anything to them without any reason. And he was too occupied these days to pay attention to them.

And now that everyone who could handle the situation was here, far away, on Clion(the island), they decided to show up.

'Damn it…I cannot summon Jasmine…'

Richard has sent Jasmine and Brad to Clion as well for some work or he would have sent them there instantly.

Left with no option, Richard went back inside the room, gathering everyone's attention.

"Richard?" Emily asked, and without looking at the others, he could tell that they were curious.

However, Richard didn't answer them and approached Amelia.

Sitting beside her, he cupped her cheek and said, "A situation needs my presence…however, I will be back in a few hours."

Turning his eyes toward Rena, he said, "Use your connection to contact me if something happens, okay?"

Rena understood the severity of the matter so she didn't ask anything and just nodded in assent.

Turning his attention to his sister, Richard said, "Bella, come with me."

Just as Bella got up, Emily asked, "Can I also come? If there is a need for me, that is?"

Richard thought for a moment, before he nodded, "Yeah, your skills would be useful."

"Richard…" just as he was about to step out, Amelia called out.

The redhead turned around before he heard his wife saying, "I…want this child….to see your face first…"

A sense of warmth and responsibility traveled with those words.

With his eyes turning sincere, he said, "I will be back on time. I promise."
